'All That You Are' Contest Judged

I have to be honest and say that the overall standard in this contest was slightly disappointing. I know that many people find this kind of theme quite difficult. However, I gleaned eleven winners, and I'm very happy with those winners: eleven very well written poems. In choosing the winners I took many different things into account: originality, emotional content, use of language, technical ability. Different pieces appealed to me for different reasons. Many thanks to all those who participated, and a big congratulations to my eleven winners! :)

Hey sweetie....I'm so so sorry I missed your contest. I don't know where my head was. I don't join many contests, but I sure would have liked a chance at writing for you. Hope you have another one up soon. I'm with Carrie and Judy....I see beauty here, sweetie....I wish our voices would overpower that other voice. Sending you lots of hugs....

I am truly honored, Charlotte, I admire your poetry so much, and this means a lot coming from you. A huge thank you, and congratulations to all your winners. (and as an added comment to what Judy has said below........you are beautiful.....very beautiful, and I hope you will turn off that "voice" inside of your head! (That voice is so, so, so very wrong....you are beautiful inside and out, and it shows in your photo, as well as your poetry! Please believe those of us who see the Charlotte we have grown to love!!!

sarah's the blonde one :) thank you for your kind words, it means a lot...after battling an eating disorder and autoimmune illnesses, it gives me a boost, makes me want to fight the anorexic 'voice' that tells me I'm gross! thank you :)

I thank you for my placement. I even got my lucky five with it! I wrote from my heart, and though it was not in your own free verse style, you understood the point I was making with sonnet form! Can't wait to read all your winners.

ah yes, the lucky five! I'm also a five, and when I'm entering contests I often enter on a number that has five in it or adds up to five, as a good luck thing lol
