As I said in my other blog, the overall standard in this contest was slightly disappointing, but in the end I found twelve winners! I judged this contest primarily on imagery and use of unusual simile and metaphor, which I know and appreciate many people don't find easy. But if you can include strong imagery and original similes and metaphors in your work it will certainly enrich it. Congratulations to my twelve winners and thank you to everybody who participated!
My new contest is posted - Vibrant Verse 2 - as I know that a few people didn't get chance to enter the last one. And I'm accepting older poems for this one, so if you have a piece tucked away that you think is particularly strong on imagery, dig it out!
