Autumn fall - Bradley Smith's Blog

Here we are, another blog in the books from my personal short comings. What should have been my two weeks sobriety, is now another tail of an addict. All it took was one beer to destroy my clean dreams. What started as one drink has turned into a week long booze fest. Now I honestly wish I could say I made it to two weeks with no liqueur in my system, but that is a lie. I even preemptively wrote a blog about my second week clean. Than addiction kicked in. Though I may have fallen once more. I will get up and start again. So hi. My name is B.L. and I'm an alcoholic. Words I never thought I would say in a public forum, but their it is. Now I already knew that I was, but touching alcohol again has been the confirmation some addicts need. So where do i go from here? Well I guess it's back to the drawing board, and to try again. Sure I may fall and fail once more. But that's life. And if you fail at what you are trying to do, don't hate yourself. We are our own worst enemies it seems. And while the pressure of society doesn't help, it is up to us to change ourselves, than the world will follow. I'm writing this drunk right now. But I still have hope I will be clean. And though this autumn I did fall, I will get up once more. Poetry has been a lifeline for me through all of this. They say a life lived for art is never a life wasted. So I hope I will never be wasted again.. thank you for reading

I can't tell you how many times my dad did before he was able to succeed. The secret, it appears, was HE NEVER STOPPED TRYING. So, keep trying, my friend, and know we are all rooting for you!!!! Constance La France Date: 3/10/2021 7:59:00 AM BL, the strength comes from falling and getting up and trying again, and again and again if necessary. I had a boyfriend with your addiction and it cost him dearly, his military career, every job after that, his family, his friends, our relationship (he was violent when drunk) and I recall it only took one drink to start the fall. I pray that you find the courage to beat your addiction, this blog is a good step, yes poetry is healing, write it, and write some more. I wish you the best _Constance Login to Reply
