Sunflower

Like a sunflower
I face you when it’s cloudy and grey
Your warmth emanates from within you
Sure, the sun will be back one day
Until than it’s just us two
Us together
The weather doesn’t matter
Even though I am blue
Everything with you is yellow
Even though I’m low
You make me feel high
The sky still cloudy and grey
So, I will face you today
When together, I feel your glow
You’re my sunflower
In my darkest hour
You give your light to me
In dark times
Facing me while I face myself.

Bradley, I love the honor you pay to my state flower "You’re my sunflower In my darkest hour" - Maybe it's because I live in Kansas, but I think it's because it is a delightful tribute!
