A Lovely Reason To Live

I can't stay away
Though once I tried
Sadly I failed to stray
This page i always confide

No lies, at least not in writing
How frightening the truth can be at times
I feel this society tightening
Even to sing aloud can seem like a crime

Do not even try to smile, with your covered face
No place to run. So I'll dream
I'm not a rich man, so today I won't see space
And was never one for a club or a team

Still you pulled me in, like gravity
You are the one that showed me some love
And I claimed you as mine. The audacity
The opposite of evil. A lovely reason to live...
