What is love?

What is love?
Is it a catchy song you hear in the car?
Is it the feeling you get when you lock eyes with a friend from across a room?
Is it the connection you feel when you brush hands with a crush?
Is it the warmth you feel at the sight of your partner?
Is there truly a way to define something that has ruled over our world since its existence?
Does it truly even need defining?
Or is that just to soothe the human conscience?
Love may not be physical,
Hell it might not even be real.
But know this,
No matter who you are,
No matter where you’ve been,
No matter your appearance,
No matter any factor you think may determine your worth.
There is always at least one person who loves you.
And to anyone that may need even just an ounce of love in this world so full of hate,
I love you

What is Love?

I used to think that love is meant to be like a fairy tale.
In a way, I think it still is.
Just maybe without a glass slipper, and the guy is not a prince.
I also used to think that it’s supposed to be all-consuming and obsessive.
In a way, maybe it is.
Just maybe in a healthy way and not a manic way.
Another thing I used to think was that love would be easy.
In a way, I think it is
You just have to find the right person.
Finding the right person is probably the hard part.
I used to think that I would know when it was right and perfect.
Maybe it is, and I just haven’t found it yet.
I don’t know exactly what love is meant to be or how you know it’s right or wrong.
How do you know?
One day, I hope I’ll know.
I hope it’ll be exactly what I thought when I was young.
I hope it sounds like that song.
I’d give up forever to touch you
I hope someone will feel like that about me one day.

Loves tug on heartstrings from butterflies in stomach

What is love?

Someone asked me how to describe love
At first I thought there wasn’t a description
Then I thought of a man who lost his wife after 50 years
No one can feel that emotion beside him
We may feel for him
But that loss is endless
The love, the memories
The good and the bad
The days in and out
We don’t think will end
We take for granted
Not knowing how we got this far
Love is endless
It stays
In the photos
In the stories
In emanates from memories
It’s lasting
And encompassing
It’s tears
It’s comfort
Hugs
Seeing that one after so long
Just sitting
Quietly
Tea and coffee without a word
Peace
I am one of the lucky ones
To know love

What is Love?

How do you define love, you ask?
Love is the moment of time when,
Hands almost touch before drifting.
It is between lips whispering,
Sweet nothings while they sleep soundly.
It travels in wandering gaze,
In the last slice of pizza shared.
The way fingers linger longer,
When they tenderly brush your cheeks,
When lifetimes pass in a moment.
It is when you might be alone,
But then you are lonely no more.
How does love feel like, do you ask?
It is when all you feel is white.
When facades fall and guiles are lost,
You feel at peace in face of war.

What is Love?

What is Love?

A four letter word comes from heart
Where faithfulness established from the start
I never imagine how it feels
When I found the person whom I can shared the reels

Then I wondered why and what really is?
The memories or language of love from this
I surrender to the genuine thoughtfulness
I divide my heart and open for forgiveness

Now it was still confusing the real meaning
Of love and how it can be dealt, too confusing
I just know that love is boundless and true
No one can ever give its exact value

Just love, feel it, share it and endure
This is the meaning of love when pure
Intentions, attentions, perfect combination
You and I can love, no buts, ifs or question

What is love?

What is love, really—
a figment of hope
sharp enough to shatter
centuries of lived patriarchy?

To think
education could make a dent
in what’s already carved
in bone & name.

To think
a stranger could be chosen
over the familial veins of caste, of home
over the womb of belief one never questioned.

Perhaps what’s
whispered in secret
was always meant to be hidden—
buried, before it flowers into regret.

Does it even matter—
your thoughts,
these societal norms, yourself?
whether you’re religious, or not?

What really makes one unique,
when the future already beholds
what always has been,
and what will be?

Destiny.
to think one is different—
to think everyone
is just the same.

To think
all that ever transpired
got fizzled on a random night
that never belonged to me.

What is love, really? someone asked, and my mind flew
Like a bird through the sky of memories, through valleys of deep silence,
Trying to unravel a question like a riddle woven from stars,
For often we lament that life is a mist, an endless race,
Where time evaporates like morning dew in the sun's rays,
But love... it bends time, slows the clock like a slow waltz,
In the moonlight, it stretches seconds like silk gliding over skin,
Turns minutes into memories that shine like diamonds in the dark,
It is a flame that burns slowly, not a wild fire, but a constant light,
That warms the soul from deep within, it is in the silence between words,
In eyes that speak without sound, in hands that hold more than fingers,
They hold entire universes, and a promise of eternity without speaking it,
Love is where chaos transforms into harmony,
Where the heart breathes like a calm ocean, where even silence,
Becomes a symphony written just for you, it is not perfect,
Not always easy, but it is real, and in its presence,
Everything finds its place like stars in the clear night sky.

The answer to what is love

Original poem:
Tera hona jaise koi khwaab lgta hai
Koi puche ishq kya hai
To tu uska jawab lagta hai
Khoyi hu mai jisme
Tu wo khayaal lagta hai
Uljhi hu mai jisme
Tu wo sawaal lagta hai
Mai sochti hu Jo kahaniya
Tu uski kitaab lgta hai
Koi agr puche ishq kya hai to tu uska jawab lgta hai!!

Translation:
Your presence feels like a dream
If someone asks what is love,
You are my answer!
You are the thoughts
Where I am lost in
You are the question
I am entangled in
You are the book
Of stories that I think of
If someone asks
What is love
You are my answer!!

What is Love

Love is the sound of your coffee brewing early in the morning
Love is Autumn leaves forming and falling on a brisk evening
Love is the warmth from the tea mug you savor before bed
Love is wrapping yourself in a towel after a hot bath
Love is flowers blossoming in your front yard garden
Love is switching out your bedsheets to feel refreshed
Love is all your accomplishments
Love is being able to say "I am here."
Love is reminiscing with old high school friends
Love is the sweet sound of your favorite instrument being played

Love is not always a person Love is the littlest things in life that make you smile
You are full of so much love
You are surrounded by love

So please, stop searching for a person to show you the word "love"
Instead, start looking in the mirror
You'll find all the love in the world there

What is love?

And what is love then?
can you tell me my friend?
is it something I can find?
is it some sort of spell?
has it be seen by anyone?
does it live anywhere?
is it only for the chosen ones?
or for any mongrel on earth?

And what is love then?
I'm feeling a little bit lost
nobody can really explain
the meaning of that word
is it something to achieve?
is it something we can score?
is it some sort of mystery
that I need to solve?

And what is love then?
does it even exist?
or is is just a ghost
crying on the street
dragging heavy chains
calling for its kids
regretting every decision made
begging for mercy?

And what is love then?
come on give me a hand
is it a name carved on a tree
or a heart drawn on the sand?
is it what I feel for my kid?
is it what I felt for man?
or is it only a sweet mirage
and the biggest cruelest scam?

And what is love then?
I really want to know
does it live up high?
does it live down low?
did I drop it by accident?
and it's covered with snow?
do you really know about it?
or just like me... you're not sure at all?

What is love?

Why do I love him? I don't know. I just love him.
What do I love about him? He takes care of his health naturally.
When did I start to love him? 24 April 2024
Only three digits: zero, two and four.
How deadly easy that was.
I loved someone in the past.
I ended up with a broken heart.
When can I tell you of my feelings for you?
I don't know, and I don't think so.
Does any one knows what love is?
It is something only the heart can tell.
Not even the logical brain can help.
Certainly, you do not love me.
You used words that hurt me deeply.
Goodbye my love, goodbye BB.
It was not intended to be.
It would go away easily.
