Wave The White Flag Poems | Examples

I Refuse

I refuse to run and hide.

When enemies and knaves come to seize

I have a 'no-fear' DNA that dwells inside.

I'm popping out for everyone to see with no desire to please.

I refuse to lie down.

No matter how many times I slip, trip, or fall

Back up without a frown.

I'm readying myself to answer the call.

I refuse to wave the white flag.

Though the battle may be onerous and rough

Through the thickets, I go like the white stag.

Onward and upward is my only aim 'cause my spirit says I'm enough.

Charlie the cowboy got a fright,
when aliens started a fight.
He prepared to save the town's plight,
before the day turned into night.

Guns by his side, rode into town,
ready to battle till sundown.
Saw the sheriff dressed as a clown
and his deputy in a gown!

In shock, asked "what's going on here?"
"Wave the white flag and bring some cheer,
because we've drank far too much beer."
Adding, "we'll get drunk without fear!"

The 'E.T's seemed a bit puzzled,
but drank till the wine was guzzled!

Story of My Life

Why do I continue with this book
the chapters either deadly dull
or all the action occurring at once
in an overwhelming cascade of events
that muddles the mind
too complex to keep up with
impossible to sort out the storyline
rendering me confused and stupefied
A tedious and tiresome tragedy
The plot painfully predictable
yet I persevere through every page
pensive, apprehensive for the conclusion
that I’m certain will be formulaic
utterly forgettable
I’ve given up on others
under similar circumstances
returned them unfinished to the library
donated them to charity
It’s futile to have faith it will get any better
in the second half
yet I can’t bring myself to capitulate
to wave the white flag of surrender
and cast it aside
I will see this story through
to the bitter end
because it’s mine

Dread
Written: by Miracle Man

Fear of making mistakes,
keeps many from taking chances, or risks.

Those found drowning in fear,
are content to live life as a simple statistic.

In a world of technology they wave the white flag,
and sit silently feeling their own pulse as fear grips their soul.

Due to dread they’ll never show a life bequeathed scar,
and secretly, never are content with who they are.

Stand Up

STAND UP

Stand up!
Don't give up.
Don't wave the white flag.
Don't give in.
What a shame! What a sin!

Those in power are afraid of you.
You're afraid too.
Don't let courage melt in the face of fear,
  or no one will hear.

It's a cruel fate
  to realize too late
  you were right all along.
Don't think twice.
Sing your fight song.

Get in tune
  and do it soon.
Don't worry about a thing.
Jump on the train
  and speak plain.

Tell the truth
  in your youth.
You still have time.
"Face your fear and do it anyway."
Who cares what others say.

It's your life.
Face the strife.
If you're wrong
  forget it.
But if you're right
  fight!
You'll never regret it.

There are women who feel a strong need
To nag men until their ears bleed
In a war of attrition
With relentless petition
Is a cruel way to make men concede

Men wish for a life of peace
But get nagged by a tongue that won't cease
Men will just say
It's the female DNA
That must out in its need for release

We can’t help it; we just HAVE to nag
Guess some folks would call us 'an old hag'
But men get on our nerves
When you paw at our curves
Men should give up and wave the white flag

We can suffer from bad PMT,
Become ogres that men want to flee
We scream and we shout
Say we’ll throw you out
But for some reason you wont let us be

Better by far, we should try this next time
It's effective and will prove sublime
By wearing earplugs
In each of our lugs
We'll be laughing whilst nagging - in mime

Laughing together will lighten our day
It's a tonic to chase our problems away
For a really big smile
Can last a long while
And we'll both get along better that way

Premium Member Life On the Edge

Here from the ledge
eye for detail is really quite keen
seen from the sills, giving new edge
to life stretching flat, where black and white
is neatly sketched
in a bird's eye view of reasoning

Into two directions,
we flap our wings, flying into a sun
running from truth
swimming with fear
in a pool of despair
or do we stare
into the cool
Into reflection deep in the soul
Do we turn eyes away, with a conscience brightly peeled?
Or yield, to a new peace of mind?

Is this a game...
played by a fool
What are the odds, given the choice
to turn away eyes..........miss all the fun...
or take plunge, and try?

Here from the ledge
we can rise to the task, shaped by our will
to deal our own cards, to deal a new hand
Win, lose or draw...there are books still unwritten
We can wave the white flag, at the expense of the heart
Is that mote in the eye the color of steel.....
Are we too numb to feel?....Give it a try!
Taking a part
Like Nike says........just do it!

"What Do You Make of This?"

War

Why do people create War?
Bombarding each other til the spirit is raw
Inflicting pain on strangers
It’s a numbers game...who kills more.

No one wants to lose
So death is what they choose
Who made THESE people “God”?
Where in hell did they get their views?

What is so wrong?
For mankind to get along
For us to experience peace
To come together and be strong

Please someone, wave the white flag
Remove your stifling gag
Spread the word of peace and love
HATE is not a word used by God above.

Destroyer of Worlds

From the burn of white clouds beneath the ash of death skies soaked in inferno's lust hands
reach to god in trust. Empires charred, driven will is shattered. Return to peaceful times as
war boots clatter emerge from the ruins and wave the white flag domination was handed
down within your sorrow it's time you bow down to the destroyer of worlds which for you
means no tomorrow.

The Bewildered One

i crave freedom no mandates no commandments

freedom that allows me to recapture the dignity that was taken

i will lessen my own exaggerated suffering

i deal with disagreeable attitiudes on a regular basis

i catch myself watching my words as so they don't slip out

                             exhaustion and frustration

at times i thought i was destined to die alone

acting on decisions forced me into them

nothing is so painful or unsurmountable than in my journey now

i realize that my insecurity and ego are curiously linked

they trigger my fears and my defects

chocked with emotion as i watch my life unfold

i am arresting my growth based on intangible

i am the creator of my own reality

i find solace from personal confusion

i wave the white flag and finally breathe again

Your Breath

I see a green, slimy smog coming from your mouth
It smells so bad, it should have come from down south
You smile like it's no big deal
If bad breath was a move in wrestling, you could go for the kill
I give up, so I will wave the white flag
Don't breathe my way, your breath makes me gag
I will stay upwind to avoid the wave of the breath attack
Do you eat fresh onion and garlic as a snack?
Febreeze won't help neutralize you
We can solve this with a mouth full of Gorrilla Glue
If that don't work you be outside the bio dome
Get the hint? Your parents don't even invite you home
There is no me and you as friends
Your breath is like time, it never ends
The female deer would not breed with you if you were a stag
Move on, move out, your breath makes me gag
