Life On the Edge
Here from the ledge
eye for detail is really quite keen
seen from the sills, giving new edge
to life stretching flat, where black and white
is neatly sketched
in a bird's eye view of reasoning
Into two directions,
we flap our wings, flying into a sun
running from truth
swimming with fear
in a pool of despair
or do we stare
into the cool
Into reflection deep in the soul
Do we turn eyes away, with a conscience brightly peeled?
Or yield, to a new peace of mind?
Is this a game...
played by a fool
What are the odds, given the choice
to turn away eyes..........miss all the fun...
or take plunge, and try?
Here from the ledge
we can rise to the task, shaped by our will
to deal our own cards, to deal a new hand
Win, lose or draw...there are books still unwritten
We can wave the white flag, at the expense of the heart
Is that mote in the eye the color of steel.....
Are we too numb to feel?....Give it a try!
Taking a part
Like Nike says........just do it!
