My Country Hates Me

Once I called myself “Illuminati”

Of the god attendant “Annunaki”

Whence I said “stupid majority”

To the fellowmen of my country

For once I considered me a decoy

Of someone high who can employ

A major disturbance against PNoy

Just like playing cards for toy

Ungrateful, unthankful – they labeled me

Parables laden to rebuke discreetly

As the said majority surrounds me

Drained I all of temerity

Mine – four months of transgression

Theirs – eighteen months of retribution

Forlorn me to concise perdition

Hear my call of reconciliation!

Now this moment of abeyance & disconnectivity

I can feel how my country hates me

Watching the extent of my stupidity

Eat & sleep idly to eternity?!

Premium Member We Were Not So Poor

We were not so poor
To be ungrateful
For what we lacked.

Full plates in a heated house
Made it seem undue to complain
For lack of poetry or a candy cane.

Ne’er a penny in a bush
Nor gift under the tree was for us
With corn, milk and eggs a plenty.

We dared not wish for more.
Each night we knelt in thanks
Before dreaming of a hotdog,

Birthday cake, Christmas
Gift, or a dime to buy
An ice cream cone.

The weeds we kept at bay
The trees chopped expertly
Our toil stayed the rest.

We were not so poor
To be unthankful
For what we lacked

As we hoed the corn
Milked the cows
Feed the chickens.

Starved of play we were
too busy making hay
To be ungrateful.

Premium Member I Am Thankful For

For the luscious pure air, I breathe,
My life story hang round a wreathe.
Bed so soft to curl up and sleep,
Fragments of my life within, deep.

A gift of family outspread,
Closeness of love and joy so led.
Even tearful moments of grief,
Of loved ones, yet though time was brief.

My children were and still a lull
Feeling, my life never stayed dull.
Life I'm living I am thankful,
Not in my words are unthankful.

Today we’re facing challenges,
beyond our imagination.
We seek God’s face in prayer,
and wait for God’s cessation.

Votes are sold for the prospect,
of getting something free.
Electing those to some office,
who never seem to agree.

We take the life of the unborn,
and morals aren’t as has been.
To finance life improvements,
we legalize all sorts of sin.

As we bravely face each new day,
trouble lurks at every bend.
I feel things won’t get better,
until God declares, the end.

2nd Timothy chapter 3
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Books

Books hold the answers to all the questions,
to all the things in between
When feeling alone, scared, restless or curious
An antidote can be found in the words on the page

A strong willed child, al discouraged mother,
books can uplift and guide us

A lesson from those less fortunate
can restore and unthankful spirit
Open out eyes to the lives
and struggle of others.

Take our mind a world away
to ponder
Imagine things never seen

We are never alone within the pages of a book
stores live on
knowledge continues imprinted on our hearts

Away

I did love and worship
Rejecting in hardship
All diverting things

In honor all divine things
I kept
O how I felt
On these days when I slept
Less yearning for the jest
In hearts

Unthankful is that radiance
Unless humbly I raise
My confessions to bless
My oft sinful soul

It’s more than a virus infecting the land,
we awaken each day to a state of paranormal.
My thoughts are that God has removed his hand,
and things will never return to being normal.

Prophecy is being fulfilled as each day goes by,
are we nearing the day when man will succumb?
Protest is rampant, and for free stuff is the cry,
the peace that man seeks God says won’t come.

Last Days

Like Sodom and Gomorrah the world is living,
we’re compromising daily, our morals, in stages.
Hurrying through life harboring some misgiving,
burning precious time, turning our last pages.

As clock time, becomes more time foregone,
we grasp for straws thought to be inspiring.
In time, many become an emotional pawn,
and the straws grasped, were seldom aspiring.

Lord, Hear our prayers as we intercede,
on behalf of our troubled world today.
Disobedient people good thoughts impede,
and each day brings some new affray.

Today we are living in those perilous times,*
that you said the last days would bring.
The media reports daily on riots and crimes,
change our hearts before death bell’s ring.

Premium Member A Poet Has a Heart and Soul

When someone sneezes, we say God Bless you!
With others we know, we say, may say have a good
day.

When we see some of the best poems here,
we say nothing?
It's so cold,when 60 visits to a poem have
visits with no comnents.

I don't know the visitors!
I never want to either, no, not me.
Just small minded, cold and hearts
the size of a pea.

Most of us know the time each of us take
to create a genuine poem.
So why not type thank you at least??
Are you that unthankful at a caring poet feast!

A total three second process, holy cow?
Why not give an uncommented poem
at least a wow?
After all a human being wrote it.
Can't you be a true poet and show it!

Use your keyboard today, say thank you.
Can't you give a poem more than a walk-
through?
You might bring a smile to a poet's face.
Not recognizing another?
So tragic and a total disgrace!

*Not on the poem or the poet! The onus
falls directly on them, the poet free-
loaders.. Yes, them.*

Villanelle 1 'The House I Fear Most Lives Within My Shoe

The House I Fear Most Lives Within My Shoe,
Contains recordings of my utmost gaffes,
The other, mocks! (Thank God that there are Two!)

Within the front room (where Critics, cuds chew)
Are played the scenes where everybody LAUGHS!
The House I Fear Most Lives Within My Shoe.

And next to it, an organ-parlor, too!
Where musical ‘slips’ turn into giraffes!
The other, mocks! (Thank God that there are Two!)

The Worst: a Hall where all my Words Untrue
Come back at me in spears, spikes, stones and staffs!
The House I Fear Most Lives Within My Shoe.

And Last: a garden sewn only with Rue,
And stones carved with unthankful epitaphs…
The other, mocks! (Thank God that there are Two!)

I’m stuck in them! Though at my feet I hew,
I cannot cut these leather prisons off!

The House I Fear Most Lives Within My Shoe.

The other, mocks! (Thank GOD that there are Two!)

Thankful None

No thing is as it was to be thankful for, thankful none
To be that unthankful for the life we see
Seen or sought all store bought
Collecting venture every type
Fashion sensible inseams
Thankful for, thankful none who are giving
Paying back and paying front
Never paying forward to some
Ungrateful are the price tags that limit
A new arrival in style that fits best
Unthankful for, body image
Thankful for, thankful none
Who show off more than most have
In a world where care is rare to be found
Cold stares from every where unthankful for nights out
Inspections are as they go when value is through sight
Unthankful when the judgement is passed
As a cover of a book in dim light
Never reading past the surface to find thanks to give
Appreciation at a low without recognition
A simple thanks to goodbye, hello
I love you, you are forgiven
Thankful none those unthankful ones
Just a waste of time
Priceless is the value of freely being kind
Unthankful not for those thankful none who do not see quite yet
To be thankful for the preciousness of goodness that should be spread

Just In Time

Each time I cry,
I just will not be
Considering the options.

Almighty, You are beautiful!

Each time I wonder,
I just will not be
Considering the possibilities.

Almighty, You are merciful!

Each time I am regretful,
I just will not be
Considering my destiny.

Almighty, You are irresistable.

Each time I am unthankful
For all that You made me to be,
I just will not be
Considering Your strategies.

Almighty, You are infinite,
The Author of my victories.

Conduit

It’s an uneasy distress
that foments inside of you
A boiling primal urge you have
to lash out and attack
Angry words of distrust and hatred,
born from years of suffering past abuse
Now you wanna empty yourself,
pour all your anguish and grief inside of me
But, I cannot allow this spiritual travesty
to proceed any further
I am not your emotional conduit,
I don’t flow that way
I am not your personal pressure release valve,
blow your hot steam of anger out somewhere else
Why are you so unthankful
for the real love you now have?
God has given you something you’ve been searching for
your whole life
Why do you fear the calm?
My heart I’ve given to you
as a peace offering sacrifice
But, I refuse to be a conduit for your unresolved issues,
I don’t flow that way
You better learn how to release your burning hatred
in a more constructive way
You must learn how to release your hot anger
in a safe, more positive display
Or this love you’ve found in me
will surely evaporate away

No Distractions

I don't know the current fashions, famous brands, or latest styles.
But I know my way through wooded parks and trails that wind for miles.

Haven't had TV for several years, nor seen the latest movies.
Couldn't name the actor-of-the-year or Hollywood's newest floozies.

No evening news disrupts my peace, nor steals my precious time.
Won't allow continual sadness control the atmosphere of my mind.

Each day delivers brand new hours for each of us to choose
Unthankful thoughts and bitterness or peace and gratitude

Distractions steal our focus while we lose life's simple pleasures
Postponing goals and exercise, forsaking those we treasure.

Decide today to guard your life from trivial distractions
And do the things that mean the most with peace and satisfaction.
