Best Unthankful Poems
All that I had, just yesterday
Has suddenly, been taken away
Me yes me, a foolish man of clay
Suddenly I have so much to say
When instead, I'd be wise to pray
Why oh why, me oh my
Take me now I want to die
I liked it better, when I was perched on high
My wings were strong, I loved to fly
I was given much, I gave no thanks
I sat upon lush river banks
My ship majestic, I watched as it sank
Now this world seems cold and dank
My cup was full it over flowed
Yet gratitude I barely showed
Instead of narrow, I chose wider road
My love of self it barely slowed
If only I had seen more clear
I wonder if I'd now be here
Feeling alone and filled with fear
Oh please dear God, I need you near
I heard him say, I'm sorry son
Your life is over, now it's done
You chose your god, I wasn't the one
Love of plenty and pleasured fun!
So down to Hell my soul is brought
A place of pain both cold and hot
My insides squeezed inside a knot
Now what I treasured doesn't mean a lot
From this nightmare, I thankfully awake
My soul and being begin to shake
Please Lord forgive me, my mistake
Help me learn to give, instead of take!
I try to be thankful every day
With God's help, stay on the narrow way
It's not about me and that's okay
Vision much clearer, when to Jesus I pray.
This poem was inspired by my brother Roy.
He sent an email that asked "What if you only woke up with what you said
thanks for yesterday?" what a great question!
No thing is as it was to be thankful for, thankful none
To be that unthankful for the life we see
Seen or sought all store bought
Collecting venture every type
Fashion sensible inseams
Thankful for, thankful none who are giving
Paying back and paying front
Never paying forward to some
Ungrateful are the price tags that limit
A new arrival in style that fits best
Unthankful for, body image
Thankful for, thankful none
Who show off more than most have
In a world where care is rare to be found
Cold stares from every where unthankful for nights out
Inspections are as they go when value is through sight
Unthankful when the judgement is passed
As a cover of a book in dim light
Never reading past the surface to find thanks to give
Appreciation at a low without recognition
A simple thanks to goodbye, hello
I love you, you are forgiven
Thankful none those unthankful ones
Just a waste of time
Priceless is the value of freely being kind
Unthankful not for those thankful none who do not see quite yet
To be thankful for the preciousness of goodness that should be spread
Perilous Times
Written: by Miracle Man

Lord, Hear our prayers as we intercede,
on behalf of our troubled world today.
Disobedient people good thoughts impede,
and each day brings some new affray.
Today we are living in those perilous times,*
that you said the last days would bring.
The media reports daily on riots and crimes,
change our hearts before death bell’s ring.
*2 Timothy 3:1-4
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
For the luscious pure air, I breathe,
My life story hang round a wreathe.
Bed so soft to curl up and sleep,
Fragments of my life within, deep.
A gift of family outspread,
Closeness of love and joy so led.
Even tearful moments of grief,
Of loved ones, yet though time was brief.
My children were and still a lull
Feeling, my life never stayed dull.
Life I'm living I am thankful,
Not in my words are unthankful.
He was gentle and soft
Like leaf painted fig tree
He wore patience like a coat of honor
Careful not spill words lest he hurt a heart vulnerable
My first lover on Earth
Graced me like i was cup or glass
Tilted at the side of the table
Like an egg lifted off of the tray
And yet, i oh the unthankful!
Pushed stones and rocks and caused hurt
Painted broken pictures of what 'Us' would be
Stabbed him with words
Who walked away from me
Like swords drawn from an angry commander i..
I was still talking, hundreds of phrases spilling from my mouth
Like an angry psycho maniac
I could calculate all the things i said down to zero
But who is keeping count?
then days past, after other days
days past... like passing winds and written stories
the stories of 'Us' was a Cliche
And it never rained
i was choking into the dryness of the air
warm as the coal from the mines
It never rained and i could feel draught land on ma home grounds
lacerated by the unquenchable thirst of what you used to do
do make me feel...
My heart still holds tender the memories
Yet months pass when the two unraveled epics
would never be told
we hold still in silence
i never knew you.... you never knew me
then months found their way into months
and years their way into years
And yet today i have been reminded
Of High School memories
When a young woman found no pride in love
And no shame in words of the epitome of her heart
I have been reminded to mend the broken strings
To make right my wrongs
And if it fits the purpose
i will lift my feet to find him
hmm... fear takes over
and i hesitate
do wish me luck
Dear God: I Can Never Thank-You Enough...
Life is Challenging for most Our Days,
We Focus only On our Struggles – Don’t We?
Well Today I Endeavour to Thank-you for Your Ways,
I Hope this will Inspire Others to Join Me !
Oh Give Thanks for the Gift of the Poetry Line,
The Invention of the Ball Point Pen to Create,
Abilities to Share these Heart-felt Thoughts of Mine,
Oh May these Thoughts in my Fellow Man Stimulate.
Creation Alone is Enough for Us to Magnify your Fame,
Stars at Night in all Their Glory with Shapes to Delight,
Flowers I am Thankful for with Unique Beauty of which I cannot Name,
Mountains so High and Valleys so Low everything in Balance just Right.
How about my Vision the Ability to See Alone such a Wonder,
Or with Ears to Hear Rushing Water and Birds Singing,
My Nose to Smell ALL the Treats so Many Kitchens have to Ponder,
Easter Christmas Thanksgiving to Name a Few Good Tidings Bringing.
How do you Write and Finish a Poem of Thankfulness at All ?
With a Mind so Simple Finite and Common Such as Mine…
The Answer is We Don’t this is a Beginning to an Eternal Wall,
Oh God I am So Sorry that I Rarely Ever Give You Time !

Lu 6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and
your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto
the unthankful and to the evil.

The House I Fear Most Lives Within My Shoe,
Contains recordings of my utmost gaffes,
The other, mocks! (Thank God that there are Two!)
Within the front room (where Critics, cuds chew)
Are played the scenes where everybody LAUGHS!
The House I Fear Most Lives Within My Shoe.
And next to it, an organ-parlor, too!
Where musical ‘slips’ turn into giraffes!
The other, mocks! (Thank God that there are Two!)
The Worst: a Hall where all my Words Untrue
Come back at me in spears, spikes, stones and staffs!
The House I Fear Most Lives Within My Shoe.
And Last: a garden sewn only with Rue,
And stones carved with unthankful epitaphs…
The other, mocks! (Thank God that there are Two!)
I’m stuck in them! Though at my feet I hew,
I cannot cut these leather prisons off!
The House I Fear Most Lives Within My Shoe.
The other, mocks! (Thank GOD that there are Two!)

carefully laid down one by one
penning the words as they come
choosing ever so prudently
a poem for ignominy
a tacit agreement quietly kept
between a mind and body adept
some coherant ideology
based on etymology
euphemistic ideas at best
lying explicits up to rest
compromising the mind inside
to make its speech coincide
with what most people want to hear
in their surrogate heart to tickle their ear
now the popular circumlocution
playing it down by substitution
negative vibes are now in the plate
served up instead of outright hate
dissolution has overtaken divorce
makes a better illusion of course
adultery and stealing just to begin
is no longer thought to be living in sin
"consenting adults" and "doing your thing"
"number one first " and "having a fling"
unthankful children are just being cool
the shiftless hustler no longer a fool
trust and loyalty things of the past
friends are only transitional cast
the savant has become a clown
as ideology touches the ground

To cry…
Is to wash the soul from darkness
And suffers
To exude the pain in matters, in seconds
To laugh…
Is to revive your soul and body
Add minutes to your time
Add purpose to your life
To smile…
Is to hide the pain of yours
Kill the fragility of your time
Smirk towards the hurt
To lower your head toward the ground…
Is to live up your day with no meaning
Spend your hours idly
Pretend not to care but it hurts so much because of care
To foretell jokes…
Is to live the true agony
And be the greater good
For your happiness is soon to be yours again
To sit alone, peaceful and unbothered…
Is to live up your thoughts and visualize your ideas
Create the tones, make the lines
Open up the space that’s in your mind
To walk but not walk…
Is to visualize yourself in another place, another time
With other people, better people
To do stuff you never did
But then it hits you again
The worthlessness and insignificance of your life
To listen to music and look out the window at night…
Is to think about the lover you never had
Consider the passion that is never to occur
Live the gloominess of your time
To walk and see the completeness of you and partialness of others…
Is to finally realize how blessed and unthankful you are
How ungrateful and stupid you will always be
How one can never be grateful for what one has but other lacks
To wear your favorite clothing and realize it does not fit you perfectly…
Is to realize how wasteful and careless you are for your body
How uncomprehending you are for time and the quickness of it
How your life may pass swiftly without your joyfulness of youth
To suppress a tear on your pillow…
Is to dig the real thing deep down
Until you close your eyes
Dried tears on your face and pillow
And never to open them again you wish
(Let no trust be vested in men, but bind them
down with the chains of the Constitution)
The wave of the future for disaffected man;
such a noble experiment, our revolutionary plan.
World wide in scope, humanity’s salvation;
workers paradise, we’ll bring to every nation.
Utopia we’ll build, making all things new,
From the ash-heap of Capitalism and Monarchy too.
A socialist world is our humanist creed;
Securing the future, fulfilling all need.
That, opiate of the people, religion, must go.
Materialism shall prevail, all we atheists know.
From each, his abilities, to each one his need;
we’ve charted the course, the masses we lead.
Yet, the masses are dumb, they don’t understand,
so we use the whip, as we lead by the hand.
The firing squad too, for those who equivocate,
to insure a better tomorrow, we also learn to hate.
Counter-revolutionaries - we had to do them in;
required men to inform, even on their next of kin.
Mass killing for the cause, the end justifies the means;
starvation and deprivation to insure our lofty dreams.
Our collapse came too soon, we didn’t have the time,
to perfect our glorious system - punish every crime.
The proletariats were unthankful, tho’ for them we did it all.
Now, we find approval only in the western academic hall.

Prov. 16:25 “ There is a way that seemeth right to a man,
but the end thereof is the way of death.”
Strip me bare like the land
Sacred and unprotected
That you come to claw and tear
To hold its sparkle
In the ostentation of your hand
For man is more than spectacle
And I am more than
Just a sum of atoms,
Or a bit among the pieces of the plan
Mine me for all the gold I am
It is a great project
Memory writing imagination
To immortalize the castle in the sand
The salt tongue of sea
Have shaped like a human hand.
I shall learn too
Rocks like a metaphor for my strength.
Only bring not those productions here
Machines crawling
Into my skin
Gnawing me with caterpillar teeth
Of a psychological reality
Of the Aryan world
Leave Sigmund and Karl
In the bleachers to wait with me
For the expedition that shall be
A better paradigm than El'Dorado
Those are superficial oars
Too narrow the scope of vision
To plow and dissect
The TransAtlantic triangle
Of my reduction
To a stage of history
The savage
Unthankful for its civilization
Making the cosmology of the soul.
I am more rock
Than a caterpillar can feed.
And it, before it flies
Against the glittering sun
Is more paradigm
Than you excavate from a pun.
Strip me bare like the land
This limited space in time
Shall tell
The expanding universe of days
Not a new beginning
But a slow Columbus world
Coming to the reality
Of a preexistence beyond
Mere sensation
Laid out like cloth
Upon the table of the mind.
Cloth, you say
Another precursory thing to rag
O had you seen it
Form like cotter on the head
Or turban, or mat
Or sheet upon the bed
It carries babies too
Close to the fountain of its milk
But cloth, before all that
Woven and waiting for the design
Functional in service
And still a canvas of history
Only an ancient African understands.
Cloth you take off to change the landscape
That body stands naked in its innate beauty
Despite the loss of soil and trees
Cloth shed like skin
Before we enter into the river
I from Darien look and shiver
At the sight of the newcomer
Standing like a Drake
I did love and worship
Rejecting in hardship
All diverting things
In honor all divine things
I kept
O how I felt
On these days when I slept
Less yearning for the jest
In hearts
Unthankful is that radiance
Unless humbly I raise
My confessions to bless
My oft sinful soul
It’s an uneasy distress
that foments inside of you
A boiling primal urge you have
to lash out and attack
Angry words of distrust and hatred,
born from years of suffering past abuse
Now you wanna empty yourself,
pour all your anguish and grief inside of me
But, I cannot allow this spiritual travesty
to proceed any further
I am not your emotional conduit,
I don’t flow that way
I am not your personal pressure release valve,
blow your hot steam of anger out somewhere else
Why are you so unthankful
for the real love you now have?
God has given you something you’ve been searching for
your whole life
Why do you fear the calm?
My heart I’ve given to you
as a peace offering sacrifice
But, I refuse to be a conduit for your unresolved issues,
I don’t flow that way
You better learn how to release your burning hatred
in a more constructive way
You must learn how to release your hot anger
in a safe, more positive display
Or this love you’ve found in me
will surely evaporate away
I don't know the current fashions, famous brands, or latest styles.
But I know my way through wooded parks and trails that wind for miles.
Haven't had TV for several years, nor seen the latest movies.
Couldn't name the actor-of-the-year or Hollywood's newest floozies.
No evening news disrupts my peace, nor steals my precious time.
Won't allow continual sadness control the atmosphere of my mind.
Each day delivers brand new hours for each of us to choose
Unthankful thoughts and bitterness or peace and gratitude
Distractions steal our focus while we lose life's simple pleasures
Postponing goals and exercise, forsaking those we treasure.
Decide today to guard your life from trivial distractions
And do the things that mean the most with peace and satisfaction.
