Premium Member Unicorns will not take an apple from just anyone

Unicorns will not take an apple from any Dick Jerry or Tom
They know a kind soul when they feel it, and glean a light on.
Do not expect to toss them an apple and expect them to care.
They understand human nature faster than most humans dare.

Unicorns

Unicorns are such gothic creatures
So gorgeous and we'll formed
I doubt they are mythical beings
But they come from some outer world
Such a pleasant icon
I've loved since childhood
And children love to this day
I have a picture of a unicorn on my eyeglass case
It's white white and has a multi-colored mane
With just its face on a white eyeglass case
I've loved unicorns since I was a child
Do you love unicorns too?

Premium Member Snow Queen Meets Frost Unicorns

Snow Queen listened to the crackles of the ice,
They were slowing down a bit, but still quite nice.
Is that the frost from the lake? Asked a frost unicorn.
Snow Queen wondered when he had been born.

I am Delight, he told her. Here are Joy and Wonder.
She heard a crack, and then a sound like thunder.
The Snow Wind was angry, coming in from the North.
What is happening? She wondered, walking back and forth.

The sky is angry, Joy said, thinking she knew.
She was used to telling her brothers what to do.
Wonder and Delight followed her lead and nodded their heads.
They were glad to be awake, out of their frozen lake beds.

From storied myths, unicorns surface,
though hard to see for they're shy.
As dusk pauses and stars show purpose,
they visit dreams in slumber's soft sigh,
yet, sometimes seen in blink of an eye.

Unicorns play in fields of clover--
planting four-leafs, and moreover,
they gather stars that fell in night,
for snug replacing naughty rovers.
(A missing star may spoil the starlight.)

If, by some quite rare happenstance,
one should appear to a lonely child,
catching unicorn in her shy glance
as it munched clover, near flowers wild
seeing unicorn, little one smiled.

Unicorns fit best in childhood dreams.
They dwell with faeries and elves, it seems.
Along with magic only children see--
friendly dragons, or flights with moonbeams,
...not impossible for you and me.

The Unicorn's Return

Sam Adams
was a paranormal researcher
he was searching
for mystical creatures
that he was sure
still existed somewhere.

The banshees, bigfoot, the centaurs,
the demons, the dragons, the giants,
the hellhounds, the minitours, the leprechauns.
The snowmen, the unicorns, and yeti.

Sam Adams found a book
the legendary infamous necormicron.
Which many had dismissed
as nothing but a story
by Lovecraft and his fellow
demented writers.

Chanting from the book,
He opened the door
the first through
was the king of the unicorns.

He brought with him
thousands of his followers
who launched a war
against the modern world.

The unicorn and his army
quickly overwhelmed the world
appointed Sam Adams
as their ambassador,

the unicorn smiled
at his victory
it had been a long time
living in exile
in the other dimensions.

Magic of Unicorns

There is magic found in a unicorn
for when each beautiful one is born
its family celebrates with happy cheers
and suddenly a spiraled horn appears.

It's a gift from God that allows it to fly
higher than the clouds in the sky.
Unicorns have no need of feathery wings
They do all kinds of enchanted things.

Let's search the forest and sail the sea.
Come and explore the world with me.
If you had magic, what would you do?
Would you become a white unicorn, too?

Premium Member Rumors of Unicorns

I've heard rumors of unicorns
Seen only by the faithful sworn
Rising in glories you foretold
From valleys where oceans are born

You spoke of passages in gold
To take, if my vision was bold
Enough to follow where you led
Unquestioning, into the cold

I fell for promises unsaid
Surrendered to you every shred
Of light and beauty I once had
And to your dark delusions wed

We left as sun-blinded nomads
Criss crossing straight lines into plaid
As I remembered what I knew
Truth re-emerged, brightly unclad

I could pretend that red is blue
I could declare my heart stayed true
I could deny the voice of doubt
But I can't lie as well as you

Lobsters and Unicorns

Sadness filled me as I had, upon hearing of his death,
Thoughts of what could have been.
He was my unicorn,
But I married my lobster.

Thoughts of what could have been
Flashing like short movies through my mind--
But I married my lobster,
So those movies will never play for an audience.

Flashing like short movies through my mind
I work to exchange them for memories I have made,
So those movies will never play,
And I will be happy with my lobster as I mourn my unicorn.

Unicorns and Rainbows-Nursery Rhyme

Little Lindy always wanted to touch a star,
But they were all too high and much too far.
She knew her magic unicorn had wings to fly
so on her friend she soared up into the sky.

Lindy decided she should walk on the moon
and floated past clouds in a big red balloon.
When she got there, she saw animals in a zoo,
and a talking parrot said, "How do you do?"

In the morning, Lindy saw a beautiful rainbow
with seven very pretty colors, row after row.
They sparkled in the early morning sunlight.
She would look for rainbow in a dream tonight.

dour, dank, disgusting and dark cannot last forever

Premium Member A Little Girl

Unicorns and fairytales
Pretty bows and ponytails
Pink and lace
Charm and grace
All in a little girl.
Dreams of love
And maybe someday
Wake to find
That special one day
Roses red and candy kisses
All wrapped up in pretty ribbons
All for a little girl.
Moonlit walks along the beach
And stars so high
They can’t be reached
Rainbow dreams
And sunset scenes
Smiles and laughter
Forever after
All in a little girl.

Unicorns are strong and fierce animals
Opposite to images of fantasy, bring bandages
Do not embrace
They'll bite your face
Quite engaging but cause severe damages

Unicorns

Heavy is the tree that weeps
Deep it skins the knees
Runny is the nose that blows
Speedily the river flows
Red are the cheeks that charm
Turnt backs do but harm
Burdened are its sighs
Its leaves subsides
Guitar strings and unicorns
Sprinkled with peppercorns
A delicate delight
Its spark ignite

Old Time Christmas Unicorns

Unlike Pegasus, they had magical horns,
now no unicorns are left
despite the lack of any government import bans.

It was a Christmas season In East London,
Tiny Tim and the fat goose had been killed off in distant wars,
the goose received the George Cross for gallantry
(posthumously),
and little crippled Tim was shot by us
for running away from a hail of bullets.

Mum and Dad had hidden in a cellar
while Unicorns died left and right;
they had given up on Christmas -
we just listened to it on the radio.

Back then it was a monochrome world,
and grey was as good as sunlight to us.
There were minstrel shows,
but people of any color were not allowed…
no one defined what ‘not allowed’ meant.
The Jews were blamed for the lack of Unicorns everywhere.

It was a time for reflection, and reconciliation,
a time to regroup the happy forces of Dickensian novels
and shove them in the faces of Unicorn deniers.

Later in that holy season, gay folks were invented,
we had to all stop being ‘gay’ or even moderately content,
but we kept our belief in unicorns’
in a typically English half-hearted way.
