THROWING PEARLS

Finally invited
Such an important event
What shall I bring
I have no money
I pray my poem
Will open up and sing
....the beauty of LOVE

Sitting patiently
Gift after gift, opened
Joyful laughter afloat
Down to one sack
And my presence
Marking sheep or goat
...to reveal

"Oh...let's not forget
This little card
Thank you, Trudy
...oh....a poem"
"Read it aloud!!!"
....no....I'll read it later

Passing to the door
I see the gift
Glistening in the trash
I reached in
Grasped it firmly
And I'm never giving it back
...to pigs who plod

Premium Memberthrowing poetry at me

I wake up with half a sentence prancing around in my dream state.
Snatch this phrase up and run for the bathroom.
By the time I finish, the words are gone.
Dissipated as quickly as they had appeared.
I am unconcerned. My muse is clairaudient.
She hears poems from a plethora of dimensions.
I take my cues from her, for she is splendiferously industrious.
Throwing poetry for me to catch all day long,
and sometimes at night in my dreams.

Throwing ice cubs down my throat

Money sadly always plays a role in life.
It leaves scratches around my chest with a knife.
I see you having no more money while we all have five.
I am paying attention, near you I'll always thrive.
But I stop myself, I should never ever again arrive.
,,does someone have 20cents?", It's funny how everyone continues with their drive.
I reach for my wallet, and take out 1€, the stitches I made to close heart quarter of stitches still overbleed my lovely bluse with flowers, how didn't I notice?
Every step felt like the broken clock count them, s t t o p p i n g g g gg o n c e e e a w h i l EeE.
My eyes roll forced on the side.
,,Oh, we have it already don't worry"
Weird that now I liked the feeling of not helping,
and ecountered the boy who asked: ,,Can I have the 20cents?", with a pleasent smile.

Flame Throwing

Each morning we’d sweep up words,
and shove them under rugs,
or coffee tables.
Some words escaped to the garden,
where they poisoned the peach tree.

Paint on shell-shocked walls blistered,
the cat became so high-strung.
that it hid under a neighbor's roof
and had quite forgot how to stalk birds.

We confided to a priest,
who denounced adultery and lust,
while openly scratching his ball-sack.

When our son came home from university,
we lied brightly to his questioning face,
hiding our eyes behind court documents.

Eventually, exhausted,
we slept peacefully in each other’s arms,
joined forever,
by three thousand miles of distance.

Premium MemberThrowing Shade

Throwing Shade is aimed at one's aspirations,
dreams, and optimism, Throwing Shade.

Including confidential matters once shared one's
thought might be kept privileged,
information at one point handed out is now
disclosed, Throwing Shade.

Unrestrained talk spreads like wildfire, Throwing
Shade.

The company you keep amongst others you're
aptly aware that one does not mingle with,
Throwing Shade.

Feeling like if one is in contempt of court, hold
one's tongue for anything mentioned will be
used against one, Throwing Shade.
For what purposes? was it something that was
said? One playing both sides for tittle-tattle
en route for gain? Which one is fame and fortune,
Throwing Shade.
When you know one doesn't engage in fictitious
shenanigans, Throwing Shade spreadable like drawings.

Throwing Dice

the screen door closes with a rattle
like a man trying to throw Yahtzee
despite the odds

shortly after, the familiar footfall of my father
calling ‘Baba boy, baba boy’ to me on the porch

I life my mug in reply, filled with hot coffee,
he fills the watering can with cold water

a low breeze rustles the fronds of a palm tree
father pours water on transplanted roots. it grows here
despite the odds

Premium MemberLife Keeps Throwing Curve Balls

Everything pressing on my mind
So, I question, why?
Blessings are small when addressing
Where I am currently at right now.
Life is compressing my being
With every-day turmoil progressing.
I am a window dressing of peace,
But a different narrative inside.
Blessings my Lord, gaze down on me
And open a flood gate of discipline,
Help me transcend above it.

Premium MemberThrowing In the Towel

Time comes when you "toss in the towel"
Considering your life’s work as finished,
You can go out with a satisfied growl
Or, attempt to have your work refinished.
Either way you know you have succeeded
For you followed your gut’s inclinations,
You listened to advice, most cases heeded
Hopefully, you left a few good impressions.

Premium MemberThe Fine Art of Axe-Throwing

Ever gone to throw an axe?
You’ll love it if you try.
Grip the handle and relax,
Standing firm into your tracks,
Release and let it fly.

Over end, the axe will spin,
And through the air will whisk.
To the target, caged within,
Close to center, you will win,
Like darts with more the risk.

In the target, there are rings,
That circle round the eye.
Each a different point it brings,
When towards the board the axe it zings,
And wedges in the ply.

In the corner, there’s a spot,
Which comes with much acclaim.
Blue, the color of the dot.
If you have a killer shot,
Can help you clinch the game.

When you come, make sure to pack,
No shoes your feet expose.
If the board, it gives a smack,
And the axe comes bouncing back,
Will help to save your toes.

Grab a beer, this social game,
Is just as good as any.
It may even help your aim,
But too much is sure to maim,
So please don’t have too many.

Anyone Clever Enough 2 Answer These Throwing Question

When they throw the Book at you ?

Do you get to keep it ?

And when they throw away the Key ?

Do they keep the Spare 1 ?

Just incase to save face ?

The lock opened from the inside ?

Or they misjudged the book by it's cover ?

Throwing Shade

I saw your cowardice hand time and time again
But I studied non-observance in an attempt to mask the pain

Why? Why? This was the preeminent question
Bafflement met by discernment, now overwhelming frustration

Throw and hide, throw and hide, Now, what an insidious plot
To think I'm the ineffectual kind, ooh, I think not

Only when the light is too bright does one need shade
Oh lucky you, you have a pair that's homemade

My silence was sadly mistaken for weakness
What you failed to see or comprehend was quiet strength guided as meekness

A beaming source of light
Walking on purpose and leaving the night

Sweetly into the days, I go
Far, far away from frenemies and foes

Onward to my beautiful, WHY
I'm so excited, I can't tell a lie

But now, I digress from all this child's play
I got big fish to fry, so I'll be on my way
