Sturdy Will
On rocky grounds, a cactus sprouts
In midst of torrid sun and drought,
Shielded by thorns, it lifts its head,
With its blooms, it graces the land:
With sturdy will and silent strength,
In life, man can surmount hurdles.

she tasted of honey, dew
Her worth is more than gold bricks
her essence smells of lavender and merit
fond railings ever pleasant dreams

Oh to the whoa, Honey, today I saw a trio of funny!
Mercy be, I saw three furry cats that all wore hats;
one was skinny and curvy, two chunky, but sturdy.
Curvy was all a-curtsy in a flat, wacked, black hat
that on top popped a nervy, lopped off, black bat.
One of the chunky cats was pure funky to look at
for his hat seemed to have been picked at
like a muskrat laid splayed on a slat from train splat.
Yes, that cat’s hat slouched, but matched her pouch.
The third in the herd on that jerky street journey,
you know, the other chunky in this controversy,
was quite the brat-cat, a beau putting on a show.
On this cat’s head sat, to my dread, a red bath mat
that was thread as an opera hat in a dread format.
So, honey-bunny, not for love or for money
could I scat catalog these cats in hats,
but I worked at chit-chat while all three sat
and was agog to learn through our dialogue
that their names were Dog, Frog and Hog!

When the rising tides of the storms of life assail,
My hope abides fastened secure to the Rock.
When the chilly waters cause my strength to fail,
My heavy anchor and God’s eternal love interlock.
When the blasts of fear come near my soul,
And the tempest my confidence can defy;
My anchor in the daring straits securely hold,
And firmly embraced in God’s loving arms am I.
My anchor keeps me safely moored in the wind,
Strongly tied to the Rock that commands the calm.
It keeps my vessel’s hull secure and me within,
And never drifts into the waves of a dangerous storm.
And when the floods of death make cables strain,
The hand of God holds tight against the wave.
So my faith in my Savior can fully intact remain,
And my hopes I retain secure and my anchor I rave.

Sturdy cowboys
evolved as heroes,
Well built, stout featured,
Wooden attire
Arched hats, spiky shoes,
Tough looks as is life !
Farmhouse mornings,
Saddle the stallion,
Solid hoofs sound,
Get into the saddle
For a day's ride,
Horse around or about !
Leading the herd
Get on high horse,
Appear out of woods
Clouds of dust follow,
Awaken devils
Legendary heroes !

He must be heard,
Loud as a bull horn and
sure as an ox.
He carries the aura of a beach boy,
pleasantly tanned skin and corn silk hair,
which sweeps just above his
warm welcoming chocolaty sweet eyes.
Tall and sturdy like a never breaking wall...
Ever loud,
Ever smart,
and
Ever strong.

I loved to stand beneath the spreading oak,
Protected by a canopy of leaves.
Its branches strong, as were my lover's arms.
I'd yet to learn sometimes a look deceives.
We'd spread a picnic cover underneath
And have a lover's lunch while sitting there.
The massive tree protecting from the sun,
With love to keep me from all other care.
A strong wind blew, my precious oak came down.
I hadn't guessed 'twas hollow at the core.
And then my love, I thought I knew so well
Proved as unsound and now loves me no more.
The strength of both I thought would ever be,
My tree, my love, so empty there within.
I stand bereft, my helpless heart exposed,
Nor tree nor love will gain my trust again.

The gift of prophecy holds my thoughts
to discern the wickedness all around.
I am blessed with many gifts in my life
that God gave me with obedience.
I battled the spirit of fear for a long while
and God delivered me from his craftiness.
Now when he is near I can feel his little threat
and reveal his attacking presence quickly.
Words of prophecy come from out of my mouth
a blessing of hope for all lost in the darkness.
Writing in despair brings hope into light
for the days of the Lord are swiftly upon us.
I know not how to explain his ways
just receive his mercy, it’s knew everyday.
Walk in his love and hold him near
when you do this, you have nothing to fear.
We always think that lack is our name
but when his had is needed we all paint the same.
Places and people he puts in our paths
pointing in conversation the need to be met.
Stand tall and never waver your position
the devil is a liar and you know he is damned.
A tower build strong for the Lord you are
and never let the enemy tell you that you’re not...
