stretching the pause
Just before we sleep,
if we dare to leap,
in as meld with space,
we can see God’s face.
For vaporised Self,
life flows by itself,
aflame and aglow,
in staid stillness slow.
Dwelling in the pause,
Self becomes the cause,
as eternal light,
birthing bliss delight.
With ego exhumed,
earth life is resumed,
as was meant to be,
joyous and carefree.

Stretching outer limits of incredulity beyond realm of logic
In an attempt to recount how life came about on planet Earth,

I step forward with the fear that in the years to come, like shadows stretching at dusk
I step forward with the fear that in the years to come, like shadows stretching at dusk,
Every word spoken or written will evaporate like morning dew,
Like dust carried by the wind or rivers flowing into forgotten seas,
My thoughts will scatter with the dawn, silent and lost.
I have

In the labyrinth of shadows stretching across the walls of consciousness
In the labyrinth of shadows stretching across the walls of consciousness,
we constantly seek scapegoats, like hunters of clouds
in a storm of illusions, fleeing from truths covered
under veils of mist, where each step is a silent refusal
of introspection and sincere gaze into the mirror of lucidity.
It is as if we float on rivers of denial, where

We drift on an island of gentle ignorance, surrounded by dark seas stretching to infinity
We drift on an island of gentle ignorance, surrounded by dark seas stretching to infinity,
And our shores are drawn in sand by trembling hands that do not know how to read the signs of time,
While black waves crash upon the shores of our fragile knowledge with whispers from unknown abysses.
Our sciences, poor candles lit in

Pleasingly Plump
Obese, bloated, overwrought with contrition
Lainey hung a chart of each yoga position
Couldn’t deal with stretching

Stretching New Roots
When I was strong in limb
I watched all unknowing
as my body grew its wordless soul.
When the world within me
plunged into awareness,
even though I was depleted,
a mere shadow of a broken timepiece,
even so,
I am become stronger
the way a blasted tree is stronger,
though to the crooked eye
it seems to be rooted only in clouds.

Stretching Time
I wish I could stretch time,
balance it out,
place it back in perfect design,
trying to manipulate my rhyme,
Letting my creativity flow through my mind,
Yet my efforts vanish like smoke and that’s fine,
feeling like I’m god’s attempt
to achieve perfection, when expectations
hides behind my eyes,
You don’t see it, I know,

Stretching Away From Self
This cyclic-round-wheel-gyre-chakra bound
business of humanness -
such an unnecessary habit.
I have stuffed my mind,
I have put on brown leather shoes,
and nothing else in the world
puts on a brown leather shoe more willingly
than an over-stuffed mind.
Later I might identify as a sleek black cat
and though I might not meow or have a tail
I will be pliable, stretchy,

Stretching Silence
Stretching silence, making joy eternal
Spherical vision, the life flow blissful
Thought rested awareness of innocence
Self luminous, love enabled ambience
Free and unfettered, earth journey simple
Blessings of God are rich and bountiful
Head and heart melded, consciousness stable
Following the pied piper of conscience
Stretching silence
Singular is, that which seems multiple
Exit, oh hermit, thoughts delusional
Fearful cravings, ego borne

Stretching Machine Please
You know those stretching machines peasants once booed?
I could use one because I would be svelte like a giraffe then.
I am willing to pay whatever, I have money and lots of food.
The only thing I don’t have is the desirable look of the thin.

Stretching Health Care
My oldest friend,
and older, too,
has a daily yoga practice
of self-care,
which I would healthier emulate.
But, when I mentioned this
as rich in comparison
with my own brief leg stretches
while tube-feeding my son,
and occasional too brief dancing
and jumping
with my cerebral palsied daughter,
He responds
to my neglect of self care
with self-deprecating acclaim
for my daily investment
in young adult bodies
inhabiting wounded child
