When you throw things into a storage shed
You are spending money on rent every month
Sometimes for years
Finally, you decide to look the stuff over
None of this was anything you should have kept or paid rent on
At one time we had three storage lockers in three states
It took me three weeks to clean them out
What I decided to keep fit into a small purse

because I am definitely far from your name and because I feel the coldness of the stones I inhabit, in addition to the roughness of the surfaces I find, the lack of comfort and the wind from this distance, I pushed aside the smiles but failed to ward off the fool pain of your memory, storing everything in the same shadow that consumes me, because up here the sun is not light, up here every star is just a fierce blade and the quicksand of this soil swallows all life and hope and so, because still I have something human left, I allowed this instance to be a kind of neurological slaughterhouse where the red corridor and the hanging hooks would spare you, leaving you only to observe my gestures, now limited to sorting the debris of my thoughts, classify the waste and remains of the of the last years, the decadence of my galaxies and its stupid stages, the incorrect decisions that only increased my mistaken selfishness and now here you are, a squalid image of reality, the projection fantasy of my sick mind, witnessing in the abstract the last staggering steps of the nightmare I used to call existence.

Their soil they no longer till,
As they couldn’t eat their fill
From a hopeful food storage
Of last year’s superb courage.
Now, they ‘re hoping on a job
That their kinfolks dreamily mob;
A much-money-spinning job
That hands for farmwork rob
And has already grabbed their Bob…
Some restlessness in a giant mill
At the foot of a sacred hill
That workers don’t permit to be still
Nor Bob allow to take his pill
Through wearisome work blood spill
Though it would take not Bob’s will…
Rightly, an Agriculture-Cheating Job
Paying enough one can’t snob.

When were they going to tell us?
That they were thinking of contracting out our storage capacity,
With no longer need to store those unpleasant memories,
Or any awkward questions that we might still have floating around,
That might interfere with the progress of new technologies,
With fewer of our thoughts to interfere with the more sensitive equipment.
When were they going to tell us?
That research into this subject has been going on for years,
And the testing of suitable devices to move this plan forward,
Is well under way.
Why has nobody spilled the beans yet?
Maybe because it was always going to be a no brainer,
With every computer giving the same answer,
That no more money should be allocated to such a scheme,
And those who thought it up made redundant.
Did they not calculate,
The consequences of having so many brains in neutral at the same time,
Or were they just too busy calculating.
Either way I may have to rethink the value of computers
Until they too learn to be more calculating.

Odyssey of The Mind
A Mind is a Storage Locker
Written: by Tom Wright
3/6/2016
Staring from some nook in every mind,
Exists mental images and thoughts of grandness,
And others that probe for meaning,
That God has favored only you to see.
Some gather dust in contentedness,
While others hunger to be loosed;
Once common they exist as public domain,
And are not matters for retrieval.
Today,
Life is not as good as yesterday;
But far better than what it’s apt to be tomorrow.

When you look up from your book
and you face reality.
As your characters diminish
and they fade from memory.
They're replaced by living people
as your life becomes a book.
And although you will reject them
will have every bit partook.
Still; you crave for those forgotten.
Every character you've read.
As you gently put the book down
sad that fake's not real instead.
Yet you know if time again comes
you will open it for more.
For there's more going back in life to
what in life is kept in store.

I kept the letters we wrote each other
I saved every dream and thought we once had
Of the love we wanted so much
Of the love we missed so much
I kept the letters, each carrying a different ink of time and mood
I saved the tears, the laughter, the silence, the fighting, the smiles...
But mostly the joy and joys of having each other
But mainly the powerful whispers of our love to each other
I kept the letters, they were getting younger
As I was getting older
I saved the youth of our love, that never fades
And as I look back at those words we told each other, my aging days feel younger
I know my storage is full of treasures.

Hold onto useless effort, so revile
that anger can endanger, why then smile
it is this brief insurgence we are vile
and to ourselves most guilty in compile!
The working wonder of concepts worthwhile
is building to inception, runs the mile,
the keeper of Invention is not style
but rapt conception of a newer trial!
Restoring dignity, an armor of discourse
from refuse, that dependent samples source,
it is that by experience know resource
is not the score of wealth, not vital . . porous!
Resolve of merit, inner peace concourse
that mind's injunction knows its own remorse,
complacency outnumbers its enforce
as useful only ~ loss is . . . . teaching's storage.

i could look at laura
all day
that perfect smile
and dental display
she has something
that she keeps in her smile
that says your welcome
and stay for a while
every show has guest stars
and this is true
our guest this week
is nabila
a special treat for me and you
"whoa" commercial time
she's so fine we are
going to have her "checked out"
to see if she's really worth
the fortune we see $$
i don't need an appraiser
she's worth it
and brandi, she's jerods girl
a thorn in his side
the light of his world
who is that woman from texas
with that big black man
don't ask me why i think she's sexy
i just know that she is
i like a middle aged woman
that still looks good
i'd meet her in person
if i only could

It sure is a beautiful day
The temperature's perfectly right
There's barely a breeze in the air
The colors are vibrant and bright
I wish I could just close my eyes
And breathe in the smells all around
Fresh air, flowers, both birds and bees
The wonder of nature abounds
The sky is cerulean blue
And the trees are emerald green
I just want to kick off my shoes
To wade through a cool running stream
I feel like I'm twenty again
My spirit is soaring today
Spring is a wonderful time
So I'm putting my Winter away

My life in a storage shed.
Paid for by the month.
I see you there in those horrible boxes.
Kneading the dough.
Our bed no longer holds us.
Dust formed a posse and waits.
Do you think of me?
When I cook I think of those days.
I see Nonna shelling fava beans.
Dipping bread in olive oil.
Ti taglierò la lingua (she would say after a tease.)
Teramo where i was alive.
I see the Domo and those friends.
If I close my eyes I can walk there.
You took the best of me but I have the dishes.
