Been to the London Stock Exchange
opened in 1571 by Elizabeth the Queen
and what's more saw the New York Big Board
the world's largest stock market ever seen
but when I took a trip to Paris
had no clue as to what to do
altho' I was educated in French
(parlez-vous?)
I believe brokers did so to discommode
as when yelling buying or selling
they communicated in Bourse code
A
sexy
blonde bombshell
fresh and footloose
notoriously
enticing, ensnaring
dragged me by my nose-ring
bewailing, bemoaning made me
walk down the aisle towards the altar
intentionally intimidating.
Stock market is crying heartfelt tears
World wide depression is one of its fears
It has not known this sadness, in....well.....forever
And some thought a dictatorship would be so clever?
~ 2024 ... 2025 ~
A time to take stock
to delve deep
One glance in the mirror
does not suffice
The old year wanes
the new one waxes
Time to bury axes
time to rack your brains
Where have I been
Where am I going
Am I shrinking; am I growing
Do I deign to sin...
A time to take stock
fast beats the clock
Pave the way this day
~ should you like a say
Sometimes we need to take stock and prioritise
Remind ourselves of what is truly of value and worth
Have awareness and gratitude for life’s positives
Give the trivial and petty a wide berth
Humans are suffering absolute devastation
War, natural disasters, or just in daily life
Unjust …. without reason
Complete loss, despair and sorrow runs rife
We need to remember our blessings
Blow the insignificant into the wind and let it fly
Stop stressing over the unimportant small stuff
We need to take stock and prioritise!
rejoicing in the gap in your teeth
from 3 meters out
my eyes sought you out
i could see imperfection
dutch girl of sensitivity
of arcadian stock
render your loving glare
Gems and precious metals are talking about volatility...
Many of the Metals said that they differ only in weight while the Gems claimed that they differ only in their cuts.
Craftsmanship is one criterion in selling one's worth, beauty and prowess of any precious gem or metal other than cut, clarity, weight, color and carat.
A gem asked, "Is volatility only applied on big-time players -- buyers and sellers?"
One precious metal reacted, "No. Everybody here is big time. And we are all here."
Another gem asked, "How do you do the buying and selling here?"
Another precious metal reacted and said, "We raise one open hand and push it forward to sell or a reversed open palm pulling it towards you to buy."
That's how trading in stock market started.
Halloween elves are in training for Halloween land.
They stack the pumpkins, in spite of a big brass band.
Here they are now! Let’s give them an appreciative hand!
Yelled the Jack-o-lantern King, Mr. Spookie B. Dand.
They are stacking up the pumpkins from floor to ceiling.
They are leaning against the roof which is peeling.
I have a crazy, weird, uncomfortable feeling
That when they come down, our heads will be reeling.
my heart was broken in the rain
while being pulled underwater
by overcast vibrations via
sky blue seduction
i carry a black umbrella
for personal therapy and
wear a multicolored raincoat
and galoshes in order to
intentionally fool myself into
believing that i am actually safe
thoughts of her are merciless
avalanches merging with boulders
of commonplace frigidity
i laugh to keep from crying
i cry to keep from dying
i die the avoid the goodbye-ing
as i take my last breath, the alarm goes off and i wake up sighing
....and alas, my blood again flows slowly like a constipated turtle....
I wanted to buy Walmart stock
My husband said it was a bad deal
It would never increase in value
I had a different idea, but he is the financial genius
So I backed down
And watched it rise up and up and up and up and up
I am still watching it rise up
But I keep my mouth shut about it
Stock Market Crash at Calabash
was in Calabash
they had a stock market crash
hit which was a smash
TAKING STOCK
“STOCK” – the bits and pieces of accumulated this and that – with tags!
Strings of memories, and far off debt, and a sea of medicinal prescriptions rustling
In a cobweb bound table draw which needs as I do, a repair, “STOCK” then glancing across
Boxed books and movable immovable objects piano, Dresser, TVs, and three different pale green
painted splashes of a future make over or fast fix.
Toffee -less tins stacked and not open, and only thoughts of toffees in them, and photos taken long
ago, I think! Dog eared edges caught under the lid, - then impatience digging out the bank
Statements, lots of cash for a rainy day, there have been many floods, and the cash is still here.
Cars and sheds and kids, and dogs, and clocks unwound, AND laptops, alone in sealed boxes.
And all this Stock for a bonfire down at the crem! And - relatives.
I do not know, how much is left in me.
I am running low, on soul to give.
I’ve walked too long to wipe their tears,
my soul’s too close to gone, I fear.
I can’t hold on to this much more,
as the night creeps in, the walls just close.
I look so hard and long for friends or foes,
they’re all now gone as the night befalls.
I am trapped deep beneath the ground.
On top an Earth, with lines around.
Inside a house, with walls surround,
within a mind, is where I’m found.
Those who cried on me through time,
are ghosts, I tried so hard to find.
And those who took this soul of mine,
the reason why I write these lines.
For I don’t blame, or try to blind.
I smile, because they smile.
It truly has been a while,
since I have felt some peace inside.
To those I seek, I leave behind,
why I’m beat, have happy lives.
Those who weep, though not in sight.
my soul is here, come have a slice.
the reason the president
has created an emergency order
to establish the meat processing plants as essential
is that those around him use words
like stock, markets, and red meat
in explaining it to him
and they talk about the health of the nation
in those terms
Sue’s purchased a huge baked bean mountain,
There’s ninety six tin’s - she’s been countin'
From midnight to morn
She’ll toot like a horn
There’s a flatulent stench I’m not doubtin!
Her neighbours they sure are not smiling
They’ve noticed how Sue is stockpiling
By hoarding loo rolls
And pasta in bowls
A report on Facebook they’re compiling
She claims all these things are ‘for me’
But sells them for an inflated fee
There’s a massive amount
In her e-bay account
It’s selfish I think you’ll agree!
Fiction poem but having seen stuff for sale on E bay it does have a ring of truth to it
