Offenseless

Surrender your ill feeling
Exchange it for due healing
Years have seen you offended
And they hoarded all that God intended
In position, provision and power.
That you grumble at the hour
And all the dreams and perks unforthcoming
Rage and unease in your heart are swarming
It makes your chest to heavy to bear
And if a cloak, too heavy to wear

With such a soul borne stain
Wouldn't power only swell the pain
Wouldn't treasure trample even the sacred
Praise for calibre would go to rebellion instead
And in the wake of heroes of wars
Will be the mourning of scores
So has God in love and wisdom
Refrained many from the spoils of the Kingdom
To save them and to save others
Lest even the staunchest faith withers

Every heart rests on His scales
And let it come to pass that after many fails
That I soonest lay down every burden
And cease to be lost amongst the brethren
Sanctify myself into a vessel of honour
Fear and trembling be salvation's working manner
Pressing on like those that God made great.
That I may grow in stature and in state
In time, in step and in tune
So I and destiny can commune

Saboteur

Gleeful roses turn to sullen churls,
And virgin smiles of shyest brides
Soonest morph into widowed furls;
Sad victims of your ill-bladed tides.

Swearing lovers of staunchest troth
Must sample your bitterest swill too,
And forfeit bonds of grandest worth,
As you gaily gloat like vilest foes do.

Most ardent toilers all hours round
In shady hands fattest gains leave,
Mowed to abysses dark worlds far;
To aliens you their ripe labors give.

And not even sure-shooting hunters still,
Can with all probity wait to taste their kill.
Bards of sharpest wits and niftiest tropes,
Thus must bow and trim ink’s wild hopes.

Your dial’s dual fangs envenom all matter,
And you’re Joy’s most culpable Saboteur!

A Motorcycle and Leather Bag

A motorcycle and leather bag,
life seemed so perfect then

When everything I cared about…
my backseat was for them

The world was such a smaller place,
ideas grandiose

To wander aimlessly I did,
and never be morose

The road became my staunchest friend,
new places passing by

Those girls I met, the love I spent,
the promise in their eyes

That special place my memory held,
for years now time sets free

A motorcycle—a leather bag,
and all that was to be

Dark Shadows

Back off dark shadows!
Stay away from my beloved land of great heroes,
A once glorious country in the past
Embellished by so much love and passion
And of colonialism, of independence and liberty,
Of martial law, of democracy.

Philippines, is this you?
Led by the dark shadows in cohorts;
Enmeshed by so much uncertainties;
Maligned by the caprices of the few
With heads and hearts in deep dismay.

Are you not the staunchest ally of resiliency?
Wake up to face the breaking of dawn anew.
And to the road of perdition you shall never queue.
Stand up and claim a bite of an ideal bureaucracy
For a genuine leap towards utopian society.

Philippines, art thou not so strong and wise?
Subdue all your foes to the quagmire towards hell.
Let the true blood ooze from thy heroic viens,
That very same blood that your heroes devour
Amidst defiant monsters lurking in shadowy tour.

Premium MemberMy Loving Man

My heart’s never felt so alive
snuggled close to my loving man.
Held in his arms where passions thrive
my heart’s never felt so alive.
Treated like the queen of the hive
he gives me all the love he can.
My heart’s never felt so alive
snuggled close to my loving man.

He gives me all the love he can
my heart’s never felt so alive.
With him my happiness began
he gives me all the love he can.
My staunchest friend and biggest fan
he’s the reason my dreams survive.
He gives me all the love he can,
my heart’s never felt so alive.

Free Lunch

FREE LUNCH

Poet, they name me, and then ask for a verse:
Especial for someone they hold in their hearts;
Rarely considering my oft empty purse -
Really a wallet, he muttered, self-conscious -
Yet brand stores for blank cards: them they’ll reimburse.

Muted thanks mumbled by even the staunchest
Coolly avoiding the pockets at haunches.
Dubious looks given freely instead
As they wonder how I can walk in their heads;
Incisively dredging soul-secrets to fore.
Dismiss me entirely until they want more.

My Lifetime Friend: My Mother

MY LIFETIME FRIEND: MY MOTHER

Throughout childhood and adolescent days,
She was my staunchest supporter,
And through teen years and young adulthood
I was glad to be her daughter.
As a mother-in-law and grandma,
She’s there whenever/wherever she’s needed,
And if this was to be her lot in life,
She’s definitely succeeded.
But whatever she is to other folks;
A friend, sister or other,
She is to me, and will always be
MY LIFETIME FRIEND: MY MOTHER!

Your Gone, I Greive

Together since forever, as frineds
Nothing could ever seperate us in life
We went thru some rough times
We enjoyed the good times, laughing
You stood beside me, protected me
We picked each other up, dusted off the dirt
When the other had fallen in bad times
No subject we could not talk about
Even our love lifes were open to the other
We endured in friendship when others didn't
We were best friends when others said impossiable
You left me behind when you died
Greiving for such a loss of friendship
I know I will never find one as great
I cling to your memory to help me go on
I honor you my friend, my staunchest supporter
You will live forever in my heart.

Count On Me

If only I could wave a magic wand
And utter arcane words to make it right -
But even though you are across the pond,
I swear to be there, help you win the fight,
To penetrate the darkness, see the light,
And you can count on me to take your side:
I’ll always be your staunchest friend with pride.
