To write a mad song takes
so very little time:
just jot some words
not too absurd

Rhymes At Times

I'm often called upon to write a verse
for someone's birthday or a funeral,
four or eight lines,
rhyme scheme of ABAB or ABBA.

But here are no rhyming line ends -
those small, same-sound four-footer ones
or those that have five feet or even more,
oh more, more beats than that, yes more than that, oh more than that.
Yes, no rhymes,

WALKING
a dreary walk by the beach 
a violent exercise 
sand between the toes 
uncomfortable 

AGE
never too old to love 
life begins at sixty 
a string of white hair 
old age begins to show 

KISS
dance of the tongues 
a prelude 
to a sexual adventure

DEFICIENCY 
the mind thirst for knowledge 
As the heart hunger
