Premium Member swoon to the tunes

music trivia night
a blast from the past
recognizing songs
from every era
by the first few notes

unforgettable
etched in our memory
except you know the song
but can't think of the title
picture the singer
but not his name

this getting old sucks but
slipping back into the good ol' days
brings back the days
of youth and teenage years
and things forgotten

The Singers

Strum gently
as you wait for love,
lest the tune escape.

The story of a true myth
quivers in a sad song,
blows in the breeze,
hopes,
whispers,
fades.

Then a new voice soars
like a javelin
thrown at the sky.

Premium Member The Singers Sing of Me

The singers sing of me,
Of my trials and my triumphs,
Of the battles I have faced,
And the victories I have won.

They sing of my journey,
Of the roads I have traveled,
Of the people I have met,
And the lessons I have learned.

They sing of my courage,
Of my faith in the face of fear,
Of the strength I have found,
And the hope that kept me going.

The singers sing of me,
And as I listen to their melodies,
I am reminded of my own story,
And the power of resilience.

For in every note they sing,
I hear echoes of my own voice,
And I know that I too am a singer,
In the grand chorus of life.

Premium Member Humdingers and Soap Opera Singers

Here we are already in April
        it’s time for new predictions
      A word of warning first
I used to write science fiction

      My first one’s a lulu
        a real humdinger
      I predict that Hilary Clinton
will become a soap opera singer

     The second one’s more risky
it may land in the sand
But I envision Colin Kaepernick as a hirsute
majorette with a baton in his hand

     Now for my final prediction
Please hang on to your hat
AOC's running for the Oval Office
        ~ dressed as a calico cat …

'Course, none of these fantasies will ever come true
You've read my science fiction; I’ll never fool you

Premium Member Singers

They wait their turn,
Watching from the sidelines.

Cheerfully chattering, they speak,
Perhaps of weather.

Then suddenly they’re off!
Swooping down, they glide,

Wings extended in crucifix,
They brake. Alighting softly

Onto the pavement.
Here there are seeds scattered.

Tossed each day by a frail hand
From the porch above.

There is a bond here. An understanding.
Food for song.

Cheaper than cable TV,
At times more entertaining.

They finish now. They’ve had their fill.
They launch together,

Land together,
Watch and wait together,

From the bushes at the side
Of the pavement below the porch.

Tomorrow the hand will come again
To pay them for their song.

Premium Member A Bands and a Singers

Adam Lambert, a rare gift to this decade, reviving queen.
Seen no doubt in heaven by Freddy Mercury, the guy.
By the way, fine Aretha Franklin has also grabbed my heart.
Smart of me to fall in love with Andy Williams at young age.
Sage song Moon River still makes me smile all over the bedroom.
Looming into my mind is Al Hirt’s trumpet so big and bold.
Old to some. Can I say Alice Cooper and get a smile?

Miles along this path of memories are bands also, friend.
Send everyone to hear Alvin and the Chipmunks is you dare.
Harrowing to think of them alongside Allman Brothers right?
Might I suggest Aerosmith and Adele should take to the keys?
Please listen to sweet Ariana Grande next if you can.
Man up, turn on incredible volume of ABBA

Way out of my league are all of these A-list singers and bands.
Grandiose in appearance, especially that Adam fellow.
Funicello is still a favorite in my childhood day.
Way past hiding my age now. Confess Annette is her first name.
Game to listening to new singers, poets, bands of all kinds.

Premium Member When Singers Meet

When singers meet
and singing greet
we soon begin to dance
or even take a walk
to sacred journey prance

While listening,
often lusting,
for confluence
in previously unexplored
mysterious places

Seeking resonance
fulfilling urgently resilient,
often intimate,
spaces

Times timing
for all who have sung 4/4 before
to dance among these holy
what for faces

Ringing new symphonies
of warm,
and often slightly wet,
heart strung constellations
(concerto consummations).

Premium Member Andrea and the Andarees

Andrea and the Andarees' tour once more:
girl group sings the hits their fans adore.
   Their moves and harmonies strong;
   the crowds sing along,
   they know each
   song -
   words that reach
   every heart. No wrong
notes - they know they all belong
on stage, soaking up the frenzied roar:
Andrea and the Andarees' tour once more!

Premium Member Aged Singers

When aged singers
Go on the stage to sing
Their voices have lost their clarity
And also lost that zing

It is the time to retire
When the audience starts to boo
These constant comebacks
Are not the thing to do

Don't you all realise
When it's the time to stop
Why didn't you cease to sing
While you were still on top

It must make you all feel sad
And as nostalgic as it may seem
It's better to be remembered well
And not as a has-been

Lingers With Singers and Bell Ringers

Love of God always lingers;
Heard in voices of singers;
Seen in face;
Race and place;
And in fingers of bell ringers.
