Aged Singers

When aged singers Go on the stage to sing Their voices have lost their clarity And also lost that zing It is the time to retire When the audience starts to boo These constant comebacks Are not the thing to do Don't you all realise When it's the time to stop Why didn't you cease to sing While you were still on top It must make you all feel sad And as nostalgic as it may seem It's better to be remembered well And not as a has-been

The problem is their minds sing beautifully as ever but the body doesn't... But a poet don't have that problem.. Always in merry..

Except for Frank Sinatra (from my parents time). I saw one of his last performances, as I held my husband’s hand and the romance was still there as he crooned. I think it matters if they love and practice what they do.

What a lovely memory for you and your husband to cherish. I am in my eighties and can remember and understand every word those crooners said and the meaningful lyrics they sang so well. Thank you for your comments ... Shirley
