Fix your lips

The Early Years

She is to entertain 20 people
I fried up 20 cucumbers
5 lbs. Of okra
In a grit and Parmesan cheese
And bits of bacon in the batter
Some spices, mace, cayenne , paprika
Garlic and onion powder in the
Bater*w/flour and eggs  baking soda*
I roasted a teriyaki style pork loin
And sliced it thin with commercial
Mixer, I mean the slicer
A creamy sauce to top it
With vinager , jalapeno, lime
Cream cheese and sour cream
With a touch of fish stock and a
Drop or two of gin, extra dry honey!

Fixed some cheesy grits
Fried some green tomatoes
Steamed some shrimp
And made crab balls
And a pot of
Hollindise
With lime and tequila
and cayenne, Sweet Missie
Slap my ass!

Strawberry shortcake
With
A rummy strawberry sauce
Whipped cream
And vanilla ice cream

Ya'll that's ah party!
Slurp the white zinfendell
And tug at your drawels
She got to take
Notice of this
Mans efforts!
Biscuits sweet like cookies
Dix's wanna pound sum
P*ssie!
I"it'ss s ah love thang! "

Premium Member Missed In The Chocolate Room Wonka Tribute

Cocoa tacos and cacao pizza,
fudge fries for sweet crème dipping;
I missed one! Forgive my amnesia;

A jello slide right into gumballs,
just be careful how you ride down;
Children are accosted by its falls;

The root beer float can refill itself,
so stay mindful of your limit;
Cannot be wise to inflate yourself;

Rosy field of strawberry shortcake,
You can eat it but at your own risk;
Berries bite it’s not an easy bake;

Chicken and waffles at every hour
dressed all over in sugared maple;
They won’t sweeten someone sour;

Look up at neon marshmallow moons,
grab ‘em for drinks that glow in the dark;
Stir them with candied edible spoons;

 Vanilla mountain with a peach flume,
things missed in Wonka’s chocolate room.

Premium Member how I like my strawberries

fresh cold strawberries are sweet and tasty
I like them plain or in sugared milk
But despise strawberry yogurt or jam
I do not like them unless they are cold
they are also delicious in strawberry shortcake

Premium Member Raining in Summer

Spring is on it's way out,
with warmer days on the horizon.
Summer is a great time of the year,
sleeping in from school ~ hooray.
Splashing fun time at the pool or beach,
to cookouts of BBQ and Ice cold lemon aid.
A bounty of fruits from sweet peaches,
to ripe red juicy strawberries.
Great homemade desserts,
from warm peach cobbler with ice cream,
to strawberry shortcake with extra whipped topping.
It will be raining in summer soon,
sooner than one might think.
Even the soft rain will join in,
to cool the hot days off.
The flowers will love their bath and drink,
as they multiply in the gardens.
I wait impatiently for summer,
you come and go too quickly.

Premium Member Strawberry Shortcake Halloween

I want a strawberry shortcake Halloween.
This was announced by my niece Shanteen.
I want pinks and stripes and polka dots too.
And strawberry shortcake? Added Little Loo.

Yes that especially, Shanteen agreed in a hurry.
The family had to get inventive, and we had to scurry.
Halloween was the very next day, and we had not known.
She also wanted a Strawberry Shortcake throne.

Grocery Poem Xiv

At any given moment, someone is stocking shelves

Putting the ping-pong balls next to the beer,
Ketchup next to the hot dog buns,
Strawberries next to the shortcake mixes.

	In the parking lot cherry pits line the concrete gutters

All things in their proper place.

Strawberry Moon

You don’t look much like a strawberry, moon
But you do look like a shortcake in June
Round and gold and waiting for that sweet mess
Of strawberries and syrupy sugar, oh yes

I can sort of see it now, like a summer dream
Of beaches and carnivals, heaped with whipped cream
Now you’re gleaming white and clean as an empty plate
Right in front of whom I sit hungrily and wait.

Premium Member It Is Fun Being a Combination Glutton

I am part werewolf part vampire
My vice is gluttony; I love to overeat
My werewolf side devours beef in a sloppy messy way
My vampire side does not want it fully cooked

I have an advantage over others
People cringe when I show my carnivore tendencies
Fearing my gnashing happy teeth
Some scream and run off; I love that!

I keep a storehouse of foods ready to eat.
Beef, chicken, steak, sausage, and other meats.
They are my go-to choices.
But I would not kick a great baked potato off my menu.

What about desserts you ask?
Werewolf likes moon pies, but my vampire side needs something red.
Red Jell-o, strawberry shortcake, cherry cobbler.
It is fun being a combination glutton

Cartoons

Saturday morning, early,
we sat around the toob…(tv)
We laughed.

Road runner was too fast,
the coyote was always too slow.
Thundar was a Barbarian,
and Strawberry was a shortcake.

Shaggy chased bad guys,
Scooby was a hero.
Foghorn was a wise rooster,
and hunting season changed quickly.
Marvin was a Martian,
and earth was in the way.

However,
No one got too hurt,
No one thought it was too real,
to steal the truth from our imaginations.
No, no one.

We learned please and thank you…
Con-juction-junction and what happens to a “bill”. (that wants to be a law)
The scariest thing to watch was PBS, where babies come from. (parental permission)

Our evenings were the American Hero, McFixIt the Everything Man,
and where no “man” has gone before.
(no one was mad, as “man” meant humanity…
even clearer, no one had to consider, as it was obvious…why is it no longer that way)

Still, we laughed.

My Beautiful Doll

By Nicole S. Berry

One of my favorite dolls from my childhood
had red strawberry scented hair I could comb
plus freckles on two sides of her nose
her eyes were the color of green
she also wore a matching red, white and brown dress
on her feet, were little brown shoes with white laces and hearts designed on them
as well as long, white socks with green stripes
there was also a pink and white bonnet all printed with strawberry motifs and white polka dots
her pet was a tiny, little kitten in the color of pink with white dots to match the doll's hat
this doll had a bakery Shoppe shaped like a luscious strawberry
her friends, which were also dolls smelled like other fruits and sweet treats
there was a snail cart which transformed into a picnic table for my dolls to sit down and enjoy make-believe strawberry ice cream
this beautiful fruit scented doll is one of my favorite things from the days when I was young

                      The name of this doll is Strawberry Shortcake
                 just like the dessert served during the summer.

Shortcake

Strawberries and shortcake,
With some whipped cream on its crown,
Is the greatest ever birthday cake
Deserving of renown.

Though it's fallen out of favor,
I remain a loyal fan,
So to celebrate a birthday,
I will buy one if I can.

Seems the past can still provide us
With a blueprint for a treat
And a slice of whipped cream shortcake
Is still heavenly to eat.

Premium Member Side Board

A  slice of strawberry shortcake
Upon the side board lay
And there are those butterbeans
Twenty of them I say

And one-half of a brown biscuit
Upon my little plate
A juice glass, ice cube, and tea
One butterbean I take

There upon the side board it lay
A small slice of pound cake
And twenty butterbeans 'pon my plate
Cake my sweet mother makes

Eat your butterbeans _now here
One she places in my mouth
I wanted strawberries and cream
Butterbeans could do without

Finally last of the butterbeans
Mom gets all the sliced cake
Oh! The first bite a dream so sweet
Ummm!! Strawberry cake

Finis'
I can remember as a child that
I would sit right across from
the place where mother cut up
the dessert and placed it on
little plates for us..It was
a cabinet that they called
the side board..I don't know why..
I would sit looking at the dessert
and want dessert and have to
eat vegetables and bread first..
