Premium Member how I like my strawberries

fresh cold strawberries are sweet and tasty
I like them plain or in sugared milk
But despise strawberry yogurt or jam
I do not like them unless they are cold
they are also delicious in strawberry shortcake

Premium Member A Dreamy Dessert

A delectable dessert, a delicious dream. Fancy French fairy cakes...no! Strawberry shortcake with thick Cornish cream. Melt in mouth. Joy!
I am thankful for many things, my good health is not the least.

Premium Member Live Lavishly Sometimes

Soft lavash, luscious Sangria, savory shrimp, scallop skewers,
scrumptious lobsters, seasoned steak, sauteed spinach, squash,
scrummy lemon lady finger, strawberry shortcake, latte, lungo.
La la, lovely, lavish, some sumptuous supper!

Grocery Poem Xiv

At any given moment, someone is stocking shelves

Putting the ping-pong balls next to the beer,
Ketchup next to the hot dog buns,
Strawberries next to the shortcake mixes.

In the parking lot cherry pits line the concrete gutters

All things in their proper place.

Shortcake

Strawberries and shortcake,
With some whipped cream on its crown,
Is the greatest ever birthday cake
Deserving of renown.

Though it's fallen out of favor,
I remain a loyal fan,
So to celebrate a birthday,
I will buy one if I can.

Seems the past can still provide us
With a blueprint for a treat
And a slice of whipped cream shortcake
Is still heavenly to eat.

Strawberry Moon

You don’t look much like a strawberry, moon
But you do look like a shortcake in June
Round and gold and waiting for that sweet mess
Of strawberries and syrupy sugar, oh yes

I can sort of see it now, like a summer dream
Of beaches and carnivals, heaped with whipped cream
Now you’re gleaming white and clean as an empty plate
Right in front of whom I sit hungrily and wait.

Premium Member Strawberry Shortcake Halloween

I want a strawberry shortcake Halloween.
This was announced by my niece Shanteen.
I want pinks and stripes and polka dots too.
And strawberry shortcake? Added Little Loo.

Yes that especially, Shanteen agreed in a hurry.
The family had to get inventive, and we had to scurry.
Halloween was the very next day, and we had not known.
She also wanted a Strawberry Shortcake throne.

Premium Member Good Morning Joanie

I just woke up and what should I see? It’s another cold rainy morning in Milwaukee. Hello Shortcake. Going out in the rain will get you wet. A cold or the flu is something you can easily get. That’s not the way to start the new year. Here, put on my warm leather jacket I have here. Being Richie’s little sister, you are somebody I like. I really like you as much as my bike.

Head Chef

The special today,
is Tom's Stew,
more than enough,
for all of you.
Homemade bread,
with garlic, and chives,
real butter without calories,
dripping from the sides.
Strawberry Shortcake,
heaping with cream,
fresh from scratch,
right out of a dream.
Eat all you want,
get happy, and stuffed,
take some with you,
he insist you have enough.
Open all night,
his lights always on,
place your orders,
before it is all gone.

Strawberry Shortcake

No store bought jump starts
Cool creamy dough kneaded by hand
Baked until golden then cooled so slightly
Carefully sliced and slathered in butter
Because margarine would never do
Sun ripened berries diced and stemmed
Tossed gently with sugar forming the glaze
Fresh heavy cream beaten in a chilled bowl
Using a wire whisk until stiff peaks stand
Placing the layers one on top of the next
Then garnish with diamond wedges of fruit
