Premium Member I Say Hello
The woodpecker chirps
To announce its arrival
Happily eating suet

A nice visitor
Seems to know me more each day
As I watch it fly away,

Soon it will return
With that chirp, to let me know
I am back – I say hello

We Survived
Here's an ode to make us laugh,
Boomers resilient to the last,
Survived high school in the sixties,
Where we learnt cookery,
Girls did not have dicks,
Couldn't do woodwork, over it!
Instead, made a pudding of suet,
Fat, fat, fat, eating to rue it!...

Premium Member Blue Jay
Ah, when the window feeder is set in place
Crested male blue jay hastens to call and feed,
So bossy, chattering, giving smaller birds no space
Such unnecessary ruckus over bits of suet and seed
Blue jay, the bully, seems to have an inner complex need.

I heard of this snazzy new diet
It looked so good I thought I’d try it
You eat what you like
No exercise bike
Whatever you eat you can fry it

My pizza edge has cheese right through it
I eat cakes and puddings and suet
This diet is great
I haven’t lost weight
But I know that I can stick to it...

Premium Member Seed a Chirp
human hunger be...just
'a pull' on a tree for...an
apple to eat

and birdseed hunger be...as
a pileate woodpecker and...the
'pile he ate' of the seed

just then it's mate sounded...and
'a peal' rang out in the trees...an
appeal for more seed to store

the pileate listened briefly and...it's
pulls on the suet-feed went faster...a
'pulse' had gone through its manner

For the Birds
I almost thought I blew it
‘Cause the birds had disappeared.
However I’d construe it,
They were gone – or so I feared.

But I went and bought some suet
Thinking that might bring them back
And before I even knew it,
They showed up to have a snack.

So before you’re thinking, “Screw it,”
Since your birds are off their seed,
Just some suet oughta do it –
Fatty feed is what you need!...

Cold wins blow across
My weary bones
Feathered icicles
Hanging high above home
Downey woodpecker
Eating a suet mix
Nature’s inadequacy
For a protein fix
Cats watch behind
Glass doors
Phantasms erupt
On litter laden floors
Feathered shadows
Creeping in my door
Sultry winter
Crystal icicles
Creatures on my floor
Warming sun
Shrinks the creatures range
Infatuation of darkness
Mentally so strange...

Deep In Despair About Billionaire
am deep in despair
when we met a billionaire
less could really care

did see night and day
crimes spread out in an array
About sad things say

did see dust like suet
found remainders from a foot
none alive knew it

sad about their sake
as walls of building would shake
up pieces did break

through rubble will toil
weather was hot and would boil
to country are loyal

had been hot in school
we should jump in swimming pool
so we can be cool...

Did wily raccoon steel my suet?
Only a day after I put it
Securely to a pole, or so I thought
For my backyard birds, I had bought
But today I wondered where it went
The whole feeder was gone in an instant
Through tangled vines and bushes thick
How did she pull off this nefarious trick?
Surely squirrels or a fluffy rabbit couldn't
Steal my cage with my newly bought suet
Guess dinner's on me for mama's brood
Gotta love that wily Raccoon

Premium Member Banana Bread For Breakfast
He mows the lawn,
	doesn't every man?
He mops the kitchen,
	a gift of great value.
He shells pecans,
	saves the pith for me.

He roasts peanuts;
	we love peanuts!
He plants blackberries,
	brings them in a bucket.
He builds bird houses,
	cooks his own suet cakes.

He picks wildflowers,
	shows me where they grow.
He makes up our bed,
	most every day.
He bakes banana bread,
	serves it warm, with coffee.

You will notice, I sometimes
	wear a Cheshire grin....

The Flight of the Fire Drake
Over the land covered in suet, singed by storms of fires
The Fire Drake surveyed for any breath of life remaining
The humans decidedly in unification ended all existence
Hovering over Elysium once occupied by eternal Spring
The Drake came to rest on wet wood washed to shore
It considered all things and then it took to flight
Once there was a place called Heaven and now it’s forever lost

Note: I would consider this Urdu Poetry.
