Joe, I have never seen a bird of any kind eat a holly tree berry or a nandina berry either. They love privet hedge berries, blueberries, strawberries, black berries and raspberries. They will eat the seeds of so many flowers or weeds and do love the suet mixed with seed. I love to see them enjoy the things I put out for them. Thanks for the visit. Sara K

I can't tell most male birds from females. I guess males are usually more colorful, right? Happy new year coming up so soon

Andrea, I don't know if you have the cardinals out there but the male is a very bright red with some black on him plus his beak is reddish. The female is more of a gray with some light red, more muted toning for her protection. Some birds are like that in their coloring that is males very colorful and females muted. Thanks for stopping by. Sara K
