Blue-Striped Sweater
Cigarette-stenched couch,
How he lays there with a slouch.
His blue-striped sweater
So warm and comfortable,
Any weather, good or bad....

BANDIT, THE CAT

I know a cat named Bandit
He's so cute you can hardly stand it
He sits on the couch
In a nonchalant slouch
Which says, it's mine, I command it...

By sartorial standards no sinner
He’ll emerge in a trice
From the Antarctic ice
Already dressed for dinner...

Today mice have nothing to fear
I'm quite comfortable sitting here
for it's my turn to slouch
and chill out on the couch
so pass the popcorn and the beer!

              Cat hanging off couch.
I, sitting here and do slouch.
              Stomach, a fat pouch.

October Afternoon
Moody clouds gather
as ripe fruit drops from shivering branches
onto pillows of gold.
The last of the lustrous flowers,
weary from the summer show,
slouch beside the wasted seed pods of their sisters,
whilst workers head back to hives unsated.

Yet still there’s a butterfly....

Green Music
They steam,
They glare,
They fume and frown,
My ideas snarl and knot.

They slouch,
Resentful to be asked.

They stare and duel,
And pout.

Then suddenly -
A random thing
Flies through the traffic jam,
A buzz of green cicada wings -

The tune splats guts
Across my screen.

Sun and Sand Minichu
on a tropical Isle
sunshine and sand with cool waters aquamarine
    makes me smile

    while in the sea
    a crustacean that was unseen
    nipped me

    no slouch
    I fled the scene
    ouch

Rode horse
Of course

His hoss
Named Ross

Ropes steers
Slurps beers

Slouch hat
Flaunts gat

Wears boots
No suits

Eats beans
Wears jeans

Raised hell
Pell-mell

What's more
He swore

Has gal
Named Sal

To pub
For grub

They dance
Romance

They kiss
Pure bliss

Gets slopped
Fun stopped

Big brawl
(That's all)...

Peeking, purple, petals, poking through the grass,
Snowdrops dangling, creamy white through an ivy mass.
Time worn stairs, foot prints with a face,
             Leading to a wooden porch;
             A slouch, a tilt, a timeless grace.

Into the Marsh
A dusty quiver lay on my back
Its arrows clean and sharp

I wade with purpose through itchy reeds
My boots dragging in the muck

I hear you before I see you
Your laugh collapsing the virgin marsh between us

A fistful of whites and yellows
My dear whites and yellows

Ready, steady
It’s no use!

For if I lose an arrow
My quiver will lighten
And my shoulders will slouch...

Slouch
almost died of scurvy
had psoriasis ever since
safeguarding my mind
step mother made the worst meals
i blamed her but now my taste buds
have changed and i realise
worked my mind
she really could cook
found my soul
devil's massage
got sick and began eating veggies
another sleight of hand
of the spine to live with
and took vitamins
lost to myself
and an exercise routine to see if i could beat it
lazy bones...

Into the Swamp
The mango grove hums,
insects sing in the scratchy thrum,
the wet-lead air.

Knee-deep, the water sweats
a dark smudging fear.

We are a party of four,
four machetes,
four slouch hats,
four men looking for
reasons.

Trailing tendrils snatch at us,
lacerate skin and courage.

After a few hours
we are drained,
barely speaking
just wading our way
inwards,

all four
longing for

that tropical beach bar
and the girl
we left behind it....

Dry Dog Days
Daylight is wide-eyed, it glares
like an angry samurai.
We are pinned down
naked to the piecing sun.
It's all too exposing -
the heat flays and burns.
A violent light fries sunscreens,
drills through sunhats
while we blink under gritty lids.
The humidity drains,
we slouch, crouch,
strain out our words.
Its’ a dry dog time
where doggedly nothing wags.
We dream of cooling winds,
of those days
when a salty sweat did not
dry-out our lolling tongues....

Toilet Like Pilate
A facility he had not used
But about it already enthused:
A not funny challenging toilet,
Water needing like Pontus Pilate:
Just to climb it effusive pride bruised
And when one was through with it still mused

Twelve litres of water when not late:
What one might be right to tag Plain Fate
The wildest cats would towards its slouch,
The wildest man on it limply crouch;
Not a convenience you'd for it vouch,
Found faults in the nastiest language crouch....

Ding Dong!! Jingle bells, jingle bells,
Here’s our time to party in our shells!
Mr. Rudolph the red nose reindeer,
Please wear a mask this upcoming year!
I don’t want my house spreading with germs,
Your mouth and my nose are not on good terms!
Oh Silent night, oh holy night,
All is calm while all is bright
As I’m lying on my sweet couch
While forgetting that dreadful slouch!!
My son. Sleep in heavenly peace
After washing your hands filled with grease!!...

Premium Member A Grouch
What a grouch
As he sits on his couch
Sloppy with a slouch
Always in doubt
Of what he’s about
He gives out a shout
That lazy big lout
Who runs his mouth
Booming and loud
And frightens his spouse
And woke up the mouse
Who was napping in house
And was suddenly aroused
And was on the prowl
Bit him hard down south
He let out a loud howl
The bite was nasty and fowl
As he wore a scowl
He let out a meek growl
Wanting to lay back somehow!
