Racket
i have all my marbles and some time
they make a racket in my head
to distract you of the ordeal to be sane
as where will be the fun to on earth
Joe Samson couldn't stand racket
he told his five boys to sack it.
They refused to comply
today they wonder why
their dad was driven to crack it.
Was gettin' kind of loud,
On the court one day,
The proprietor called out,
to keep the noise level down
Hence the title,
Your tongue-twister clown!

The old microwave makes such a racket
I’d tell it to “shut up”, just can’t hack-it
My wife really hates the thing
It works, so endure the pain
Damn thing broke before I could attack it
When one canary sings it's a treat.
When two are singing it's doubly sweet.
When three or more sing
It's not a nice thing.
From their racket you'll want to retreat.
The radio, the children and thoughts in my head
If I crave concentration, I must go to bed
Can’t think through the racket
I simply won’t have it
I’ll get this piece written, one day, when I’m dead
My dear dad’s wearing his letter jacket,
Running football in his ageless bracket.
Stars in his eyes not too wise.
Mama sees through his disguise.
Open arms, she intercepts his racket.

Infernal Racket
Trump turned out to be nocturnal;
Every time he would use the urinal
He appeared to have blushed
Each time toilet was found flushed
Could not stop racket which was infernal.

Taps 10PM Lights Out
Drip, drip, drip goes my faucet
a wrench is all that I need
no tools to stop that racket
earphones are more like my speed.

Young Kevin had spindly knock knees.
He got in every place with ease.
The knocking made such racket,
that people were ecstatic,
to open up, so his knees would cease!

My new year's resolution is I’m going to get thinner
So I purchased a 'Weightwatchers’ meal as a TV dinner
When I looked at the ingredients I discovered it’s a racket
There is more nutritional value if had I eaten the blinking packet!

My reservation made
My ticket punched
My racket strung
My hole card trumps
My lead dog ready
My rudder long
My hope restructured
My spirit strong
My story ending
My fable begins
My memories endowed
All faith now within
(Villanova Pennsylvania: October, 2016)
there's a bat
in my room
get a bat or
better yet a
tennis racket
stop the racket
he's just a baby
brown he could
suck my blood
but know he
wouldn't so just
leave him be so
my wife left
instead and
then
so
peacefully
did the bat
so here
alone again
Form:
I won’t get anywhere faster than you
Just look at the yellow lights blinking at you
The honking of horns is such a sound racket
For breaking traffic laws, you will land with a ticket
Motorway warriors weaving in and out of lanes
Using their hearts instead of their brains
Dawn tangerine dream;
Make shift altar;
Domineering sceams;
While yet afar off;
Antique lace racket space;
Dreams afar lost;
Leagues of amazing grace;
Happiness is...
Not always clear nor fair
Sometimes it's a nightmare

That cheese and apple affect,
chaotic yells for morning
revolutionised
by the simple cup of tea.
With smiling echo's in grim passageways
of graffiti laughs,
concrete surfs
and chewing gums dalmatian.
Rackets of rain
like falling rivers
are the singing shouts of
ambient joy.
Right beside me lies my dog
Flight to dreamland, slumbers deep
Quite the racket, sawing logs
Slight, the chance she wakes from sleep
Eyes are closed, at peaceful rest
Sighs at visions yet unguessed
Rising, falling of her chest
Guys, let’s face it: I am blessed
Time is a parse of moments –
each life a chronicle of ticks
and tocks, our deeper mystery often
obscured by the clang of our clutter –
we live by terms like stops and starts...
the in and out racket of hearts – truth
somewhere impaled amidst the overlooked
silence, shouted down by riotous echoes
In nature’s hush, stillness is found,
far from cacophony of noise
and hate-hurled words in which we’re drowned.
In nature’s hush, stillness is found;
quietude exudes all around.
Racket annoys like raucous boys.
In nature’s hush, stillness is found,
far from cacophony of noise.
Serpentine path
Trees’ decor
River’s racket
Fallen branches
Dried foliage
Curvy thicket
Blossoming flowers
Growing weeds
Insects’ encounters
Nesting urge
Babies' demands
Tweeting birds
Shining sun
Dead flowers
New blooms
Silent mind
Grateful soul
Divine boons

(Tri-con)
i'm in bed
each thump of the dart
hitting the cork
in the darkness
my heart quickens
and death envelopes.
time and waiting for dawn
suddenly the ear buds disconnect
there is a thud
another one
then another
my wife is disturbed by the racket
the announcement yowled of '180' wakes her
galaxative
ON ENTERING WHAT SEEMS A GAME OF LOVE
IT'S NICE TO KNOW OF ANY STRINGS ATTSACHED
OR NETS PROTECTING FROM LOW BLOWS
A RACKET? NOT WITH PLAYERS FAIRLY MATCHED
ADMITTEDLY THE FUN INCURRED IS NOT
FOUND ONLY IN THE WINNING OR THE PACE
BUT IN THE SERVIE OF ONE'S OPEN COURT
AND YOURS IS SEEN DESERVING OF AN ACE

I LOVE her name! She's my doctor's
P A in a long white coat, a
handsome girl from N Y State--
Good Italian family. I love her name,
I want her name (if not her racket)
would look so great on my new
book jacket. Should I warn
her to be wary?-- that it's not
too late for her Dad to adopt,
or remarry?
