Gray ships
Docks and ports

Palm trees
And mangoes

Fresh breeze
Wide relief

A night on shore
Red lips, hot breath

Oh, no
Baby wails

Woman sits on golden land
Bundle in hand

Agony
The choice....

Life is so very short
ship sails many ports
People see it all
leap but don't fall

Stand outside the rail
send doubts to hell
Don't always agree
search another sea

Life is awaiting more

Captain 2
There are ports you can't reach ,Captain,
you can not fill the gaps
do not count outbound
stars are gleams to far away

What was the last commandent,Captain,
what did you leave the harbour
with a few passengers
is the bleeding your heart...

All the Nice Girls
All the Nice Girls

I'd like to sail the Seven Seas
With seven sailors hearty,
Seven ports in seven days,
And seven nights to party.

My every wish would be fulfilled
For me by crewmates, seven,
And when friends ask me where I've been,
I'll say "in seventh heaven!"...

Alexandria, Egypt
I had a lekker time in Egypt
even though I didn’t visit a crypt

I drank, smoked, had fun with friends
later back on board someone stole my tens

still had fun on the last night there
and the cab ride was quite a scare

that was one of the ports I have seen
as a young sailor at age nineteen...

Humpty Dumpty
Humpty dumpty
Humpty Dumpty sat on the firewall
Seeking open ports through which to crawl
Finding one he went on a brawl
Lo another insecure server fall

All the kings techies and every nerd
Plugged the gaps flustered and red
Like a rabbit Humpty Dumpty had bred
And on all the computers he had spread...

Letting Go

Today, my heart, you sail away.
May your seas be calm and constant.
Plot your life’s course wisely.
Let your ports be safe havens.
And then, when your heart is in need,
Hold your course homeward.
In known harbors will you find comfort.
Loving faces will meet you.

I’ll stand awaiting the tide....

Dance of the Bony
Dance of the bony

Soon we will look
30 when we die,
Which will please the undertaker.
Death will be called a voyage
On an everlasting cruise ship.
The purser will send
Festive cards
From romantic ports.
No, grandad is not dead, he rests
He wears makeup because he is going
On a liner as a dancing partner
For old ladies....

Premium Member Sail Away Part Two
He met a woman full of desire

She'd set his heart on fire

A lonely sailor man

Used to stopping at ports whenever he can

She was his own special treasure

Time with her he could not measure

He asked her to sail the seven seas

Even if he had to get on his knees

Would she come or would she stay

Would she even try to delay...

You are the ones we left
And knew would never grace
The ports on different paths
And ever will the course
Of our ascent serrate a jagged
Past across a folded sky

The Oceans Rain
All at sea again, now the hurraine
has brought down your ocean rain
  to bathe me again

All hands on deck at dawn
          sailing to sadder shores
your ports and my heavy storms
                or maybe the blackest thoughts

On Reading
On Reading Voyages ‘pon seas Of ink and tide On journeys O’er oceans wide In time transported By imagination ferried To exotic ports and To treasures buried Made of paper and page A fragile craft No more than a hand span From fore to aft But a transport no less… Through both space and time Crewed only by a lone …And inquisitive mind…

Ports Beyond the Storms
Did you find that port
where the sea greets the land
with pearls and sparkling fishes?

Was the voyage you took to get here
full of storms or near misses?

In the autumn woods were there truffles
or sprained ankles?

Does your soul roam
though you stay at home?

When your ship arrived
did you sigh as if at journeys end,

or did you weigh anchor
for a new port, a new friend?...

Revolve land O Revolve
Here I am..
In revolving, claps my wings strongly
I am who fearful, mortal..
That wear the sea slippers and the
Ah, fate and death,
I am the spirit that abandoned ports and
Absent where absent.
...
Revolve Land O Revolve
Here where the love and dream follow us.
What's precious love when the death is habitat!
What's precious dream when certainty hurts!...

Norma-Jeane: Duo-Rhyme
When I was only seventeen,
I met my darling Norma Jeane.
And I, still wet behind the ears,
Emboldened by too many beers,
Approached her and forgot my fears,
Became the envy of my peers -
But knew our love would end in tears.
And after many lonesome years,
I saw her on the silver screen -
And dreamed of how it could have been…

Baroque Barks
Grandeur of the sea, master craftsmen worked endlessly to make your elaborate mast. Finery
foraged apon this ship for the ports to envy. The waters part for your beauty, sea creatures
praise in adoration of your greatness. The winds dare not blow viciously against you, at the
sight of your wonder. Easy passages all your travels granted. Smoothly ride into the horizon
and stars guide thee....

Wind can be a bit pushy
at times
Though I would be first
to admit
of needing nudges in different
directions

inclined to linger too long
under shady canopy

or at the seashore
gazing off into dreamy
horizon

my mind inclined toward
repainting sunsets
rearranging stars into
unique constellations

or writing poetry
strictly for sojourners

each poem a gateway
to ports further unknown...

The Sea, the Violent Sea
Upon the sea, the turbulent sea
I see a ship, a sailing forth
It’s being tossed, tossed so hard
That I’m afraid it’ll fall off course

So maybe I, the lighthouse keeper
Can guide her in and save the day
Oh look upon, the bright lit beacon
Sail, oh ship and come my way

Now, she ports, she has set anchor
Now the men, they come to land
May they stay, stay in safe harbor
Another day, they can sail again...

Peaceful pastel sunrise_ porch time
My quiet time in which I rhyme
Whisper to God adoration
Thank Him for His great creation
For His Son Jesus, salvation
Tell Him of my admiration
And thank for love's confirmation
Time filling with inspiration
Out on porch time_alone sublime
Dream more time with Him not part-time
