A
Cross tick,
Running across sticks.
Overdue for blood licks.
So eager to afix
To
It's maw a
Caustic mix at picnics.

a day, solid picnics stalks
people eat ice cream

ants in my food
wood ticks eating on my back
want to picnic honey?
sure why not
The birds haven't put their white goo in my hair yet

Light Verse
lightning bugs in jar
delightful…shaken up, down
it’s another night
of memories— albums loose
family picnics; stains; death

Our picnic food draws pesky flies.
We each grab a swatter and rise
to wipe out those devils,
but those crafty rebels
escape. Then we don’t feel so wise.

Spring is cricket on the green
Summer is picnics in the park
Autumn is conkers from the crescent
And in Winter slides on ice
across the schoolyard

His life was ebbing fast
Our thoughts raced to the past
Of holidays in mountain & sun
Picnics,camaradely fun
With this cockney gentle-man
Tribute to our close friend who died this morning

Patriotism and Holidays seem to go hand-in-hand
Fire up the BBQ; strike up the brass band
Picnics down by the lakeside; it's all mighty grand
Though I'd rather be known for my love of this land

Flashes of my youth include a tire swing,
a clean, clear brook,
bicycles,
picnics,
hikes,
fogs,
swimming,
kayaking,
fun, summer things;
pleasant memories, time stored in my mind.

Summer air ; summer breeze.
Beginning, never ending.
Warming trend, might swim.
Tan on the beach, reach for more.
Family reunions and picnics too.
Photos to remember, memories.
Return to summer fun.

Hot summer picnics, swimming in the lake, diving into fun
Cool autumn days bring a colorful rain of leaves falling to see
The seasons show nature’s way with different kinds of beauty

At last!
Vacations! -
High fives and hugs,
Camping out, and picnics -
Fun time!
All well -
Um, for now
Later, of course
We will have to face truth -

At picnics Sue's legs are akimbo
No panties, but Sue ain't no bimbo
It keeps pesky flies
Landing on our pies
Our days out are never in limbo!

Whimsy oozed out of everything Bancranda decided to do.
Picnics were common, also carnivals full of merry-go-rounds blue.
A fawning cat, lucky dog, and tweeting birds appeared with ease.
She is lucky said non-creatives. Daily, she does everything she please.

Peace be in your breathe
and in your silence
in your tidings
of gallant appeals
for multidious sea loaves
Peace be in your Sunday picnics
in your seeing
old friends pass away
Let it be in your jazz
and blunted blade
and grizzled bear, that got away

A smile on my face
Bounce in my feet
Pep in my pace
Heart feeling the heat
A smell of the roses
Picnics at the park
Past all the poses
This time it’s no lark
A smile in my heart
Gifts from above
Perhaps my last new start
Feels a lot like love

The ocean warms my freshly covered feet
enjoying picnics and barbecues
cutting grass and drinking water
view joy peaceful tasty treats
solstice comes without sound
where peach trees abound
no clouds in sight
sailed gulls flight
nimble
white.

Sol
Rising
In the east,
A golden orb
That illuminates
To herald a new day,
Families gather outdoors
In the countryside or beaches
Enjoying picnics and barbecues
In the beautiful season of summer.

Excursions, picnics, get-togethers, ballgames
An exhausted father slumps into his favorite armchair, leans back --
Ah, the pot of gold at the end of ‘his special day’
…Dad hobbles outside – bad knees and all – to set up
the sprinklers and haul in the gear from the van

I’m moved by vintage scenes of families
having picnics
children on
tire swings
FUN!
Now
I see
families
in restaurants
and parks, aloof, each clutching a cell phone.

Tetractys
Picnics, plays, and days of plenty
Wanton ways and I but twenty
Laughing, carefree, and forward bound
While time passed by without a sound
For years I'd lie and search the sky
Or sit idly by and wonder why
But now I pray beneath the sun
And long for days of twenty-one

When we were young
Summer stretched
In brilliant splendor
As the last school bell tolled
We spilled forth from
School marm’s arms
And greeted freedom
In the jeweled waters
of beach and stream
With picnics, sunburns
And warm summer nights
In tents
Listening drowsily to the cicadas song
