I’m moved by vintage scenes of families having picnics children on tire swings FUN! Now I see families in restaurants and parks, aloof, each clutching a cell phone.

My oldest friend reminded me of our childhood recently. Climbing our butternut tree, playing neighborhood kick the can, hiding from our brothers in the lilac bush, baby sitting for a dollar an hour. Oh gosh, I really miss those days so much. I wrote a little poem about children on a playground. Yes, 4 on a cell last night at a Mexican diner No conversation with each other Makes me crazy Why go out together?

I see that same scenario all the time--even at my family's home! Thanks so much, Marikate. Janice

Oh those good old days Janice, people actually talked to each other. Its comical to see folks in restaurants on cell phones not even looking at each other, sign of the times I suppose. Tom
