and throw it back again,
pearled cup-hearts smoothly clean,
long ago picked bare,
the forgotten feasts of ghost birds.

Waves lick forlorn sands
but cannot coax those dispassionate shells
to frolic in the happy surf;

just out of reach of happiness.

of soft pearled fields sloping to the sea
Rose hips, blood red with white frosting
Naked branches as snow falls from bough to bough
Pale melon sun shines, as a thaw struggles in

Shadows of Spruce elongate the milk carpet
Pistachio ivy clings to the tree trunks

And heart be racing and dearly love exposes.
I am one who flies to him with brokens wings

Romance- Brighter and far more lovelier than the stars
