Serene Snow Morning In Ireland

Hushed morning..... A winter scene from my bedroom window of soft pearled fields sloping to the sea Rose hips, blood red with white frosting Naked branches as snow falls from bough to bough Pale melon sun shines, as a thaw struggles in A steel grey sky mirrors a stilled ocean Shadows of Spruce elongate the milk carpet Pistachio ivy clings to the tree trunks freezing fog lingers, the feeble sun waning as a blackbird hops, mirabelle beak pecking

Had to come back to enjoy another one of your beautiful, soothing poems before soup closes down for repairs or something. I love this one, too! Replying to soupmail shortly. Hope you're taking part in these contest, Eiken. Some are challenging but much fun! Always, Audrey"

Amazing piece of writing, you have a unique talent in picking colours to describe nouns - it runs right through your poetry. I noted you wrote recently about the rabbit burrows and I assumed you were Waterford. Yes indeed i am also a native of urbs intacta. Regards, Déirdre
