This day had sunlight
Light shone through small windows
My office was a stable
The beast of burdens´ air reminds me
That my work is not yet done....

Loneliness
LONELINESS

Loneliness is like cold Norwegian ice, so pure it hurts in a numbness like fire.
But loneliness is better than silly little English girls messing one around....

The Cruise Ship That Just Didn'T Quite Make It...
She was an Italian liner,
Whose path crossed
Unfavorably with a
Norwegian ship
Out at sea....

She went down that day
All aboard were sad
I just hope that Joe's wife
Was not Andrea by name,
Cause it was the Andrea Doria
Whose fate played to her fame....

Poseidon's Possum
The strangest things happen
in the Northern hemisphere
dancing dervishes
become the norm
in the mid Norwegian Sun,
mercator projected
A bird in flight
caught by the car lights,
travelling incognito.
Recess to be free,
there's a longing ;
in the upper atmosphere
see the lodestar disappear....

Cuddly Animals
Cuddly Animals

Little small cuddly animals all full
of colourful coats and lots of fur.
Every type is here from little mice
to black Norwegian goth guinea pigs
to chocolate drop pussy cats
that love to be stroked.
All animals are there to be loved
with lots of care in nice warm homes....

I`m not a skilled poet
I`m not good at writing in rhyme
If I write rhymes in Norwegian
                         It fit so perfectly
When I have to translate it to English
                         All the rhymes are gone

I Don'T Know
I don’t know,
Whether I am French or American,
I just doubt,
I am a poet or a fisherman,
Cause, now I love you as ever.

I don’t know,
Whether I am Texan, or Norwegian,
I just doubt
Whether I am dead or alive,
Cause, now I love you as ever.

I don’t know,
whether I am a book, or a glass,
I just doubt,
I understood ma and pa,
Cause now I love you as ever....

Unknown Factors In Tai Chi
When I did the
hug-a-tree today,
I could feel my
breathing in my fingers
as the air
in my body moved my blood.

That Norwegian professor,
when I was 25,
told me that would happen.
One body, he told me,
like a fluid-filled bag,
like a decorative icing
squeezer.

Several times today
I could feel time stop
and I could feel the
gap between my fingers
tremble....

the end of the line
the end of the line

Once upon a time, Norway was a shipping nation
thousand of people employed in this endeavor
because she was a low-paid country and could
haul, mostly American cargo around the world
Alas, oil along her coast, was found, no longer
poo, wages rose that was no good

Other nations, running lower wages, took over
and the Norwegian shipping culture
was history

Armies
Armies
A general so proud
Now he is burned to crisp
And we are told by a cowardly press to rejoice.
Revenge!
Don’t look at NATO only a naïve Norwegian can
Believe in this useless rust machine.
What we need is a new army
Helping the French to extract more oil from
Central Africa.
Who is the enemy or not depends?
On how effective the propaganda is, but
As the rule is: Generals are all stupid....

Premium Member The Captives
In a Norwegian slumber they came to take us away.
They used shovels and torches.
But mostly arms and strong fingers.
We were the final ones out of the terminal.

The cockroaches sing with us now.
We live in utter parlance.
Askance, downward goes our drives.

But this is not about us, no-no-not us.
We call our song the soul’s vertebrate.
And we refer to the question of a soul as an angel with its hand over its mouth....

The Norwegian Club
The Norwegian club

We went there last night
it was set in a wine bar and the prize,15euro each,
I refused to pay that much.
The bar was almost empty but for a group
of Norwegians who sat whispering in a corner
And there was no one to welcome us.
I was donating some books to the club
left some of them on a table.
No one stirred.
I thought the scene was surreal.
We left and had a meal at a Portuguese
restaurant.
I suppose the books were thrown away
after closing time....
