Fresh bread,
sometimes called “fob”,
very bland by itself,
but with peanut butter and jam:
pure bliss.
Aunt Bert’s
fresh homemade bread:

Was with naughty iron that is a nine,
Which some say has become benign,
That balls seemed slow as molasses;
Did need to take a few more classes.

Couldn't have dreamt this,
His tender first kiss,
Nibbled his lips,
Kissed my fingertips,
Kissed molasses hair,
Love his kissing flair,
Kissed a thousand times,
His mouth just rhymes,
Our attraction,
Love in action,
Lip sync bliss,
Love his kiss,
Kissing sublime,
Withstood all time.......
The Time Matter continuum
The same edges of space
Ebb the edgy ridges of time—
Like peaks of Everest the tops
rising slowly like
reverse lightening
moves molasses-like punches up ward
blurring lines of compact matter into dry fluid matter
and what does it matter?
Where time ends
Or commences.
Dark clouds and blizzards
Echoes of silence surrounds
Crystalline water hanging from branches
Evanesce my breath into frozen still air
Memories thaw inside spreading like warm molasses
Buried deep inside glazed eyes
Ever present for me to pull out and see
Reminisce I do now on what warmth used to be
Mary skipped to a different beat
You could see it in her funny feet
One shoe off, the other on
One sock green, the other brown...
She did her homework in the john
TV, computer, and radio on
Excelled in school at irrelevant classes ~
Shining shoes of cloth and threshing molasses
The jar tips over,
black syrup spilling across the floor,
slow as grief.
I try to mop it up,
but it clings to everything—
the tiles, my hands,
the soles of my feet.
By the time the floor is clean,
the room smells like a funeral—
but I have it on good authority
that the animals were saved.
Whew.
