Dear Paul, For one who lives in a warm climate, you certainly gave us the "January chills" in your haiku. The second one has an amazing image. Gosh, I've become such a big fan of your work. Best wishes in the contest! Love, Carolyn

Hi Lucilla! Even here in Malta it does not snow; the most we get is hail. Snow looks lovely on postcards, but I'm sure it can cause problems as well. Thanks for stopping by...I appreciate it :) // paul

Hi, Paul! I felt that somewhere in the corners of our eyes are movements that may indicate signs of life, now awake to face or become danger. I think you captured the freezing stillness of January perfectly with your contest entry.

Excellent Haiku's here Paul. This side of the tide our January month is hot-- energy levels will drop in those temperatures too. Wild and howling wind vs. wolf-- closest you get to comparing an animal with natures elements. Xx~Xx

Thank you Faye. Once you start on haiku you could become addicted to it... find it's a good way of drifting off to sleep...thinking out short pieces like these. // paul
