MARTIAN RHYTHM

MARTIAN RHYTHM

In Gustav Holst’s Planet Suite
It’s Mars, The Bringer Of War
The rhythm is in five four time
But there’s no words to rhyme
So one asks what is it good for
When keeping up with the beat

Premium Member Right In His Kisser

Aphrodisiac worked well
  The Martian thought ‘Swell’
‘Now I’ll make my move on this belle’

He leaned over to kiss her
But she moved and he missed her
Then she punched him right in his kisser

His plan upended
  The Martian, offended
But she thought it ended just splendid

Premium Member Mars In a Million Years

pink dawn on red mars
as far off sun glimmers gold
more probes are coming

someday red roses
when the greenery arrives
and with it fresh air

blue lakes and swimming
with the clouds, winds and the rain
red planet next door

phobos and deimos
glow throughout a martian night
when skies are dreaming

An Unexpected Visitor

A well spoken Martian came calling last week
He popped in the house for a chat
Though I wasn’t displeased
When he coughed and he sneezed
I was miffed when he swallowed my cat
He said “ I am frightfully sorry,
It isn’t like me to do that
You must think me a hog
For I much prefer dog
Or a rodent like rabbit or rat”

Premium Member My Name is Etched on Insight Lander

My name is etched
On Insight Lander
On Martian soil
It waits for me
To be where gravity is low
So be careful where you go
Mars’ atmosphere has little air
So beware
My name’s still etched
On Insight Lander
Along with miliions
Who like me dream
If we can get to you
Insight Lander
Your solar panels
We’ll surely clean

A consortium for interplanetary exploration has conducted
