A head emerges from the loch,
the creature nears the shore,
he hopes to take a photograph -
alas, he's seen no more...
Halcyon Heaven
beneath pearly sky
rocks recline in limpid loch
halcyon heaven
20 Feb 2010
beneath a blushing sky
two idle boats
savour
the bliss of solitude
our fingers entwine
[Inspired by Shahbaz Majeed’s "Misty Dawn".]
I’m waiting for that morning
To bring the loch back to my eyes
And you darling you
Turn into a runaway cloud
And let your shower
Bloom my desire
My friends search for happiness
as if it were the Loch Ness
But Joy is over with the find
Its search continues, a state of mind
Five fingers,
ten toes,
two eyes,
one nose,
one tongue,
and two teeth
What have I just described?
The Loch Ness Monster (aka loch nessie)
Like a sheet of glass
The still Loch captures the scene
My eyes are fulfilled

Snow laden mountains -
Sun sparkles like diamonds
on icy cold loch
Heart leaps with joy -
playful otter is crowned by
bejewelled water
The shy monster deep in Loch Ness
Looks great and dresses to impress
But when fashion designer start arriving
She feels silly and decides upon hiding
There was a dark Uisge from Loch Ness
who fancied a tasty Baroness,
he lured her astride
with the on coming tide
and all that was found was her dress.
The sea monsters are real.
He's viewed them four times.
A tour guide from Loch Ness.
What do they have to hide?
Although it's just a guess.
I'm still trying to Decide.
What e'er became o' Angus McKess
Is a dark and troublin' mystery, no less.
But the cruel gossip bein'
He was reportedly seen
Skinny dippin', one night, in Loch Ness.
There once was a monster called Bess,
Who lived on the shores of Loch Ness.
She was wracked with sudden guilt,
After lifting someone’s kilt,
And said, ‘Hoots mon, what a mess!’
The old Scotsman burred loud on the dock:
" Bring along more than tackle and block!
For if yah cast out yer net,
yah might live to regret
bringing ole Nessie up out of the Loch!"
Staring hard
she believed
it was there.
But no luck
as she prayed
for a glimpse.
As she sighed
it crept up.
Her surprise...
a tricube written 28th January for Sara's contest
There once was a distressed Monster Loch Ness
Whose office-at-home was really a mess
She'd lost her press clippings
Midst daredevil flippings
Lost her pj's too ~ so couldn't undress
Small Grain of Sense
My poems may be about trains and plains;
Trump with sense having only small grains;
They did obsess,
With Loch Ness,
And Washington where it rains and rains.
Jim Horn
prill on tranquil loch
and my image rippled out
as words on mind lakes

how lonely it must be
furtive and stealth
slithering undercover
to not have one friend

There was a big serpent called Jess
Who lived on the banks of Loch Ness
At night he played chess
With Ness, though I guess
The game was devoid of finesse.

I saw the huge beast from the dock.
The scene evoked bowel loosening shock.
Run and hide, Nessie!
It's about to get messy.

early morning’s moon
hovers high above Loch Ness
in a clouded sky. . .
caught in its light is a sight
too swan-like for a monster
Dec. 26, 2017 for the Loch Ness Contest of Thvia Shetley
There is a monster in Loch Ness
Which has been seen, more or less
And tourists flock with cameras zoomed
To be quite expensively roomed
And even if the photo shows a grey, grained blotch
At least the bar sells a lot of Scotch.
ALONG
loch-studded moorland
bogs and runnels
and o'er the Highland Pass
antennae alert
I'll twist the wind
to
feed
my
Bonny
Lass
Moonlight falls upon the dormant land
Where peaceful calm reclines
Upon the shimmering lake
Ripples form and then reveal
A dark silhouette rising out of water.
