April night does woo
no moths boarder the lamppost
soundless little gems

Sighting
Blaze. Awakens
me. Again it was snow
on the black lamppost.

Resuscitate
me when the moon dies.
Day starts bleeding.

Voice rested.
The little yollow bird has
left for new home....

There’s this mellow fellow who toast, boast
every night drunk with his host, most
      now the embassy has closed
      the high life exposed
      a hobo a bench a lamppost

Soaked street reflects in silence,
puddles absorb paint,
memories of movement, still
moonglow of a saint.
Hushed squeals of a child -
lamppost relaxes. No boots
splashing midnight. mild.

With a green aura That surrounds this house of old Sits a spooky feel Lamppost out front casts shadows Working eeriness about A lone light is lit By candle in upstairs room Visible on street Helps create the dim green glow That permeates all around

Foggy mists engulfed the bright
When raindrops fell throughout the night
The lamppost glowed at midnights dark
When sweethearts kissed at Lover’s Park

Soft oily rainbows slowly flowed
Beneath our feet as movement slowed
For naught but nature could intrude
Into this lover’s interlude...

The Lamppost
It is but a light,
a break within the night
a shadow of a sun;
and there on the sidewalks edge it's rooted
guiding, praying for our path
following, staying with out drive
lighting the way as if to say:
I am here and you are there
without me there is darkness,
without you there is nothing....

The Pothole On the Road
The pothole on the road
under the lamppost
 filled with nonstop downpour.
Also, some water spread thoroughfare.
In the evening as the lights turned on
the hole produced
lamp’s beautiful reflection!
The sporadic rain droplets
heightened the scope
by forming startling images of a kaleidoscope....

Evening Gown of Yesterday
After days of fog
Moths eat away the slip of winter
Pieces of the New Year
Drift as ash into spring

Eyes waiting abhorrently
While midnight clasps the last remnants
Tomorrow becomes the butler
Escorting the sun

Rays peel open the solstice
Tattered wings flutter towards
The lamppost of February
Sealed in pocket mirrors…...

It Happened On a Rainy Night
Foggy mists engulfed the bright
When raindrops fell throughout the night
The lampposts glowed at midnights dark
When sweethearts kissed at Lover's Park

The kiss a burning flame so hot
The rain could dim it, not a jot
The lamppost shone through mist and rain
Our hearts entwined with lovers pain

Panting Shadow
Dusty Staccato clouds chalked against a blackboard sky
interrupt the glow of a sunny white moon

as the silence of darkness clings to the crickets anthem -
ignoring the chorus of life that holds the stillness hostage.

And the panting shadow
beneath the lonely lamppost light

tugs always,
gently at my grip,
Ever eager,
to lead me anywhere -

but home....

Foggy mists engulfed the bright
When raindrops fell throughout the night
The lampposts glowed at midnights dark
When sweethearts kissed at Lover's Park

Seductively waltzed as raindrops danced in the air
Expressing their love that started as a merely affair
All of a sudden lightening struck the near by lamppost
Lighting up the foggy night as they saw a ghost

Premium Member Weary Day Surrenders To Night;
Weary day surrenders to night;
   She wears a pleasant countenance.
Echoes of traffic hush the strife
Of a long day; a moment of silence

Makes still even the Holy Ghost
As the cobalt of the sky fades.
A moth makes love to the lamppost
Knowing the warmth of its rays.

Come darkness, come tomorrow.
Will they bring the nice thoughts I’ve thought?
Yea, my heart is not shallow
But guides in a way my eyes cannot....

Gleaning memories from a post
I like her I said or did boast
Holding something in my past
She visited me once, never last
Condensed water on the window
Keeps me hoping, looking below
Four balloons filled with helium
Doesn’t do the trick, delirium
I open my wallet, nothing’s there
My mind feels completely impaired
Surly you can come and be mine
Donuts aren’t really that kind
The lamppost outside my house
Glows quietly, nothing like a mouse

Premium Member Lamppost Black
Don’t you see the lamppost black?
Down beside the railroad track.
It’s there, I know, I have seen it!
Many times, I’ve seen it lit.

It does come out in the night.
It is not there in the light.
Go down by, and see it there.
Oh, go on! This is not fair!

You laugh and say I am wrong.
Go on back where you belong.
Leave me be, with my lamppost.
But say! Let’s have, one more toast!

A toast to you Lamppost Black.
Let’s drink it all then go back!...

City Birds
On a phone call with my brother,
With the river at my feet,
He was startled to hear birdsong,
City avians a’tweet.

And this morning, on a lamppost,
Sat a regal hawk, intent
On whatever he was thinking,
As some pigeons came and went.

Then this afternoon I spotted,
In a garden with my friend,
One red cardinal plus sparrows,
Nature’s urban dividend.

You may be surprised to hear it,
But the city’s habitat
Gives me lots to make me smile,
Long as I don’t see a rat....

Premium Member 40000 cartloads of horse manure
i printed off
all of my poems

i distributed them
at the traffic lights

no one opened their car windows
except one poem i stuffed in a dog's face

a child laughed at me from his back seat
i laughed back

i stuffed the poems in drains
in supermarket trollies

i donated them at the
charity shop

i hammered this poem
into a lamppost

it blew away into the ether
i went home to pass a kidney stone

all the eggs in this box are double yoked
signifying nothing
