Treasure
what once the treasure soon forgotten
placed inside a tiny box
not as faceted as once thought
on a shelf now gathering dust
another trinket from yesterday
sparkling less as it all fades...

Life Is a Diamond
Life - multi faceted like diamonds. Rough around the edge potential unclear. In the hands of a craftsman cut and ground to reveal character clarity and color. Glittering facets balanced to reflect its brilliance.

In an illusory vision, I perceive the moon
High aloft the world in midnight's pitch,
polished to a satiny sheen; burnished pearl,
a solitaire gem mounted in celestial skies
surrounded by multi-faceted diamonds,
myriads of gleaming stars before my eyes....

Face Off
in your valley
looking passed
kneecapped
mountains

facing the cave
below where
your cyclops
lives

not looking
at your medusa
moaning over
your siren's song

i am no man

immoral
immortal
importantly
yet it is you

Lost Dark Beauty.
She so delicate of visage
Veiled in obscurity
Intangible appearances
Faceted in flowing black mists

Eyes buffering the vagueness lit
Piercing through shadow
Contained within
Turbulent metaphors of dusk

Tempting destiny uncontrolled
Splashing hot crimson
Upon the life sparked cinders
Empathizing too late...

Trying To Give Him a Me Complex
i made me in my imagemation
you multi-faceted pymarid head
where only slowly the dust
bathes in the dead
Stick your heaven up your Jumper
plucked angel wings for the barbecue
you your son with your ghosts
i will make you tremble
pulling clouds beneath your feet
your gates of gold
unhinged in uncaring shades
the one counting the days...

How will your soul inspire form
At the intersection of truth sublime?
Follow thus your secret heart
That knows much more than mere logic
Even as reason feels impotent
For the multi-faceted escapade
That defies all sensorial agendas
Thus really knowing that you do not know

Velvet Gown Faceted As a Gemstone
Night and day rythmic crash of the sea
Reflection of the red sunset in his eyes
Extended into the ocean from the coast
Summer sea Spring storms biting wind
Sun on water shone like brilliant jewels
Long dark skirts trailing on stone steps
Rustic gown green overtunic amber silk
Long drawn breath crackle of fire glances
Distant sounds festive drums celebration...

The Never-Endings
It was kind of you to end that way -
death after love, love after death.
Never endings are truly the best.
Good of you to end only to be a beginning,
the death of love becoming just love.
Such a many faceted metaphor,
such a a prismatic prayer-wheel.
I turn that wheel now
watch you appear and speak,
I can't hear what you are saying
but I believe you are praying
for us both....

Come July, blackberries ripen on prickly vine
Hug fence-lines defining the dusty country road
Twittering thrushes flutter, chirping while they dine
Come July, blackberries ripen on prickly vine
Sweeter fruits like faceted black diamonds shine.
Picking must begin before tall grasses are mowed
Come July, blackberries ripen on prickly vine
Hug fence-lines defining the dusty country road....

Ring
Plain emptiness,
where I touch an ebony
diamond, only gives
me edges— wiped in my
macadam; heartache an
old rust from repetitious
beats

the faceted phantasms
link, perhaps to mask
their face— or mine;
light just off within
its sides— all my
fingers stream sanguine,

no fit for the hollows
on my face, madness
glitters— and so drags
my shadow's shadow—
like far wishes took from life....

Simple
Simple to say I love you,
Hard to see in my sense.
Light or dark a past tense.
Sealed lips not one clue.

Collection cups are now due.
Penny's built my picket fence,
Many minds faceted or dense.
And each one I did surely spew.

I do stand here,
A bunch of mess.
You are over there,
Plenty that guess.

My hand is out and my head is down,
In my heart I hold your golden crown.

Life's Tapestry
Life's Tapestry

Life begins: a single thread
Inlayed throughout as one
Faceted; a tapestry
Entwining hopes and dread
'Sembling extracts not quite done.

Torn brocades of woven silk
Aloft on dusty walls
Pull at strings of mother's milk
Ellipsing vacant halls.
Shadows press the looking glass
Towards the light then fall.
Running colours fading fast
Yaw past the muted call.

Inspiration
Mans inspiration steals its way
Unobtrusively to mind
Like a cat burglar on a heist:
Stealthy, but it comes not to rob
Intellectual property
But to deposit a priceless gem
Still unpolished yet nonetheless
Precious to a creative mind.
Unlike a diamond in the rough
this gems luster is most fleeting
whose innate beauty potential
is measured in nanoseconds
thus leaving little precious time
to create a faceted gem....
