Take time for downtime,
your ocean’s a bit calmer;
Recharge how you like;
Mind, body, and soul connect,
yes it’s ok to unwind....

Premium Member Looking For a Perfect Rhyme
Feeling sublime looking for a perfect rhyme
rejecting halftime, bedtime, downtime
considering the pleasant tinkle of a chime
making faces at the sound of slime and grime
settling for a garden of lime and thyme.

Happy Hour
It's Recess, or whatever
He calls his downtime.  God's
at play in the sky, bowling popcorn
balls of cumulus against the walls
of a candy sky. He does not wear
a long white beard, or flowing
robes. He's shaved, and
got his rompers on....

Premium Member From Sad To Happy
Tears of wax are frozen in time,
yet they morph from sad to happy;
A statue that’s covered in grime;
Tears of wax are frozen in time,
feelings resurface with downtime;
Wide smile transforms anxiety;
Tears of wax are frozen in time,
yet they morph from sad to happy....

Downtime and Dust Trio
timeout

polished sandstone grains
fine trickle through time's measure
in downturned hourglass

            made out of dust

man grinds man to dust
harsh words make quicksand for him
dust speaks up for dust

           Elah unveiled

in Elah's vale
a stone's throw from enigma
gigantic hate falls...

Warrior Poet Zen 1-1
Warrior Poet Zen 1-1 I think of that well-known phrase about the rose and time. We should go beyond that simple act in our downtime. To stop and only smell the rose may be sublime. However, we should endeavor more than a clever rhyme. It is our pleasure and duty to become that rose in our lifetime.

Premium Member Downtime With a Jelly Jar
White sand cascades in a wee washed-up jelly jar.
Shiny on its side, stepwise tumbling as a child turns it.
Boy’s curious mind reveals a tiger’s eye, rhodonite,
Snowflake obsidian, red jasper and quartz midst sand.
In reverse play, stones look like sleds on a snowy slope.
Slow reveal of each prize mesmerizing and calming.

Premium Member Conspicuous Stars
As I looked down the line Conspicuous stars faded away The suns gradually disappear And black swallows further Every Glimmer Of Radiance My sword is drawn Struggle against resentment Safeguarding the cosmos And every single one of its inhabitants Apathetically exposed to the left Simple downtime now Prior to the depravity of man recovers and reappears.

Premium Member Fall Prayers
I pray to that know-it-all Inter-web
- that I can book a safe beach vacation.

That I’ll meet some nice cahtholic boy online
- without p0rn fueled expectations.

Weber-net, without undo downtime
- please address my ongoing frustrations.

I need my Christmas loot on time
- and not priced-up by supply-chain inflation.

AIs, who are listening, it’s time to send me a sign
- beep or whir to let me know you heard my small rogation...

Poetic Lefty and His Unexpected Right Handed Sweety
never knew
you would dig my every haiku
but you do
even more i love you
you read another
then you read the other
we relate like sister and brother
we enjoy our downtime like father and mother
oh my oh boy
you read a few poems of mine with such joy
at first i thought it was a ploy
motivation from you i now employ
never dawned on me
your love has set me free
you represent 'you', 'her', and 'she'
again God proves that Mighty Is He.......

Tyler, Sunday Morning
Dark as a demon, but with the soul of
an angel, he's a Portuguese Water
Dog who's never been to sea, but, as
he oughta, he loves water, and highly
proprietary when you're watching
TV, downtime is shared, so it's his paw
on your foot, or else it's his head.
Morning ablutions, one leg in the air,
he waters a thicket, which wakes up a
cricket who begins to sing. The world
is his lavatory. Noblesse Obligatory.
It's a Water Dog thing.

                   for my granddog......

Some day One day How about today? Let all that is you Dance to the rhythm of your soul Indulge in some soul sessions Whatever they might be Acknowledge who you are in this moment Pretty, afraid or even anxious About anything and everything Don't double back on what you feel There is enough doubt going around Try not to put on the dress of insecurity today Give yourself that downtime To recoup - leave indecision at the door
