Downtime

That Grand Old Opry; Nightly Nashville celebrates Country heritage. Down home folks sing down home songs; Hard working lives in downtime.

Used to love the late 1950's editions. I don't know how are the Grand Ole Opry is now, but listening to country music on radio, all I know is that 95% of it is over-produced. Might as well be rock or rap (with a twang, of course). 'Seems a pity. Love the 'down home...downtime motif in your poem, M.L. Best wishes, Gershon

I am afraid that it's very different, much of it, includes a sort of country/rap sound. Still, I love listening on the radio to the older reruns. Once a week they rerun a show with Loretta Lynn or Tom T Hall or even Bob Wills. I buy tickets for the favorites when they are there but, the newer music is about 50/50. Thanks.

As a connoisseur of country music and American folk from the 1950s and 1960s,1970... and being far from the stage I can not speak against ... I liked it when The Byrds released SWEETHEART OF THE RODEO at this festival ... I know that Elvis introduced himself there, but he followed another line ... Hamk Williams was also there ... His poetry is well written and has its reasons ... I just like it Best regards salute alkas.

I think Carrie Underwood from American Idol was inducted last tear into the opry. She was pretty regular on it, then. Thaks for reading.
