Cat On a Broomstick
The English say black cats are good -
They think we bring them charming luck;
But in the States, black cats are bad,
So trans-Atlantic flights just suck!

for Deb's metre contest
I think this is iambic tetrameter...

Wizardry in black dress
whips up cauldron of dread
warts, newts and black potions
whisks wildly on broomstick
with a dark, evil eye
while cackling wickedly
woe to those who listen.

The moon
  so hazy
in early winter sky
  fights to break through

denied, she
  casts her spell
undercover

as a door creaks
  near me
while streaking
  across the sky

a ghostly hag
  on her broomstick

Witch At Night
A witch on a  journey at night
was gripping her broomstick in fright -
the batteries low,
a distance to go,
she wished that she'd traveled by kite!

Jimmy
As Jimmy rode his broomstick pony
I'm Roy Rogers he would yell
With silver pistols at the ready
He was the good guy you could tell
No horse theif dared to face him
As he galloped across the kitchen floor
Roy Rogers is my hero
Even if he's ony four...

Electric Broomstick

My
Mother
Often said
Her other car
Was a new and spiffy electric broom

Whoops! Upside down! Hold on tight for this flight
And right on track
For quite a
Shocking
Ride!

There Was a She-Ghost In Elly's Pantry
There was a she-ghost in Elly's pantry
She loved cold meat and a lavish entree
                                       With the pass of dawn
                                        She ate a tiger prawn

A Brush With Death
The witches are flying tonight,
so funny to see 'em in flight:
all sat on a broom,
so really no room,
I guess they are holding on tight.

But now they are looping the loop,
the broomstick is starting to droop,
I watch as they fall -
the poor cat an' all -
despite all the spells, they're in poop......

There Was a Flaw In Mr Einstein's Logic
There was a flaw in Mr. Einstein's logic
He made an elephant out of toothpick
All said it was Mr. Einstein's genius
That he made the matter egregious

Broomstick Nylon and Thread
Crafted with broomstick and nylon
Her heart is held softly on a thread
This is me
Growing up as a kid with a kite
When the wind comes
I hoped my dear kite won’t tear
For so will I
Torn to pieces
Broomstick and nylon
Threaded to heaven
To Rest In Peace
Bring back my kite
I feared saying goodbye
But death took away my kite...

Premium Member Witch Bee Was Given One Wish
Witch Bee was given one wish. Anything at all.
She pictured a haunted house, everlastingly tall.
A replica of herself, a gruesome, gritty pretty doll.
But would she rather own her own broomstick mall?

What about a wonderful shop with wands, wall to wall?
Would she be given a medal, because of her squall?
A wonderful dog and cat sanctuary might be her call.
Undecided, she asked the wish-maker to come back in the fall....

Premium Member Want To See My Crow Impression
Fabulific witch zoomed in on a full moon night.
We had never seen such a streak of femininity
Her gorgeous face hailed from a magazine cover
Those thighs, those boobs and that chin. Wow!

She leapt from her broomstick onto a large oak branch.
A fashionista, elongated ebony ribbons were flowing from her hat
Want to see my crow impression? She asked. We all did.
There was a loud squawk and she flew off, in a crow’s body....

Online Witch
She flies on her broomstick and enters cables and wires,
She hunts down the pure of heart and never tires,
We see her pointy black hat on her wicked head,
As we live a life online with fear and such dread.

Casting her spells of verbal abuse with fervor and joy,
Her coven sits around a cauldron with their evil ploy,
We gather our sage to burn them away with fire and light,
As we prepare to make a stand and put up a good fight....

The Little Magic Man
There was a little magic man
Who lived in a little magic land
With his little wife and children
and his little magic band.

He had a little magic black cat
Who wore a little pointed magic hat
holding a little magic wooden ball
to hit with a little magic bat!

One day a witch with magic broomstick
Flew over the little magic house
The witch cast a little magic spell
So magic cat is now a little magic mouse.

HALLOWEEN – SPOOKS II

At the door
Little Boy Blue
Kissed our pumpkin
Mistress Mary too

Shutters rattle
Unearthly howls
Ghastly sounds
From Satan’s jowls

Tattered scarecrow
In the corn
Comes to life
The dead reborn

Halloween pumpkin
Big surprise
Runny nose
And bloodshot eyes

Flee my children
Here they come
Graveyard creatures
On the run

In the kitchen
Gary’s wife
Chased by a spook
With a carving knife

Diddle, diddle pumpkin
Old Mrs. Rich
Rides on a broomstick
She’s a witch!...

Premium Member Identified Flying Object
I thought I saw a mysterious glitch
A strange apparition in the night sky
At first, I assumed it must be a witch
On a broomstick making a quick fly-by,
Then, I observed her twinkling light
Which burst into flame, leaving a trail
And just as quickly ended her flight,
Now I know it was a comet without fail
From a distant galaxy out in space
Coming so close, into our atmosphere
Having for some reason lost its place
It wound up dying above me here.

Blue Frog Tinti
BLUE FROG TINTI

There was a blue frog Tinti in the lake of Tello
His face was a broomstick and his presence was shallow
                                              All fish eggs and fowls
                                              Dogs Digs and the owls
Kicked him on the butt first and then said hearty,”Hello”
