"Sentient"
They say
they don’t feel
like we do
their thoughts
a mystery
if they think at all
some say
it’s just a reflex
behind the eyes
the sentient confirms
we are stupid imbeciles
no comprehension
of our part in it all,
the grand story
connection;
in disgust
now reasoning,
the logic in us all,
where is the wisdom
in that, the sentient thinks
as a sapient
and turns its back on us
appalled

A beautiful star flipped out tonight,
it flung itself at the moon.
No one could believe it,
a beautiful star so bright, wanting to die so soon.
There were signs for many weeks,
like the times her light dimmed at night.
Or the times she shot herself,
clear across the sky.
No one thought her attempts,
were actually cries for help.
She was always so noble,
not someone who ever felt.
She always appeared to be,
a beautiful shining star so bright.
Please pray for her when she hides,
behind the dark clouds tonight.
To Mother Gaia, I too belong
Rhythmically in tune like a symphonic song
A stranger to this domain, I simply am not
Eons of existence in this my home, so significance is my lot
Singing beautifully across verdant planes
Sensing and feeling all of your joys and pains
One verse, a universe of a song of divine neter
Just playing my ecological role to make this realm better
Sentient and evolved beyond your capsulized anthropologic lens
My very being is to quietly nurture, heal, and cleanse
I can sense and feel and my memory is top-tier
So there is no need to discount, abuse, neglect, or fear
I'm connected to you more than you know or even knew
I'm here as your ally and nurturer to help make you a better "you."
Do you know fame and blame game?
These two things are not the same
Adolf Hitler was a Public Figure
He is famous across the world but he destroyed many
If you do not believe go and ask historical granny
There are ghosts whose identity is sleepy hollow
We should choose wisely to whom we follow
There are ammo users who know the art of tact
They can misguide and they can crush our intellect
Can't you see there are subfolders within folders
Aren't we in the position to lift the responsibility on our shoulders?
We are sentient beings who can carry the burden of care
Sometimes a Public Figure turns out to be our worst nightmare.
New day with green-yellow possibilities
rousing the trees.
camouflaging my nose, mouth and cheeks
but at least my eyes see.
I long to imbibe on the woodsy scent —
lids closed and mask free.

I hear the breathing during my torpor,
rapacious immateriality rustling,
like some raptorial raptor,
like some alternative whispering.
Am I sensing sentience in otherworldly form
or projecting my own panic?
Have I contacted unearthly norm
or am I becoming chronically manic?
Count me among humans incapable
of messaging with any other species.
Nature’s diversity makes this fact inescapable.
Earth’s living order is full of mysteries.
In what fog could I detect extraterrestrials?
Might I be oblivious to their presence
or might they enlist my manic essentials?
Indeed, such beings may signal their sentience.

The whales are our sentient friends.
Why would we want to see their ends?
Laws among nations need amends
and message sends and message sends.
Their lives are graceful to behold;
their blood is warm, it is not cold.
Their species is so very old.
Stories untold. Stories untold.
How can the world ignore their plight?
They live their lives in pain and fright,
in spite of all their fearsome might.
Must clear our sight. Must clear our sight.
They’re disappearing from the sea.
We can’t allow this fate to be.
All countries must come to agree.
They must be free. They must be free.
In a harvesting autumnal evening
We gathered in the field of an old farm
Scattered haystacks all over,
Ripen paddy sprinkled aroma there,
Invigorated with hue and cry and loud laughter
Hide and seek we played,
Under the starry black sky
We all sat around the fire,
Watching the grizzled old man,
More stooped he was than a year ago,
In the fire some straws he put,
Some bamboo pipes he filled with rice
And cooked them with the heat of fire,
That night you sat by me,
Still I recall,
You and I were just kids, unknowingly
A bond we formed that didn’t dissipate,
Many autumns we traversed
With ups and downs,
We grew up in our own sentient universe
Far away from each other!
There exists between us a vast expanse of desert,
A cadence of wind sweeps over my oasis
With bemoaning sigh of love!
The pride that comes from ego
And the prejudice from ignorance
Sees humanity in a hole
Created by its own arrogance
It will not work in consciousness
To evolve and to transcend
It simply wants to fight itself
In a selfish battle of greed and hate
Reflections of its flawed state
Transposed and manifesting in toxic waves
Negating positive frequencies
Through their unawakened brain
The illusory drains
Their ability to retain
Any sense of love, peace and compassion
Which is why this earth they are trashing
Like mindless zombies
Feeding off the flesh of this earth
And inflicting so much self hurt
And I find quite embarrassing
That a sentient race keeps clashing
With its own ignorant flaws
That ends up in so many wars
And refusing to march toward
A paradigm shift that may just save us all.
i remember standing there on the deck
the sun hadn't even started
to yawn across the sky
yet there were splashes of amber
against the ebony backdrop of night
mingled with stars
i felt like i could see forever
and thought i saw it in your eyes
as you held me close
i didn't want to lose that moment
or see day begin and night end
but with every end is a beginning
and every beginning has an end
somewhere in time
even something as beautiful
as that or this can be replaced
but never erased from memory
of mind
every moment rises
like every morning's sun
sometimes it's beautiful
sometimes it rains
i can taste it in the rain
as a string of yesterdays
cloud my thoughts
and i close my eyes
resurrect us again
and see forever
momentarily

If desire crests from craven heart
On my duplicitous eyes won't chart
With clever guise will deliver Cupid's dart
From ducts, drain silt that lust does cart
Only sentient strain from dilated pupils impart
Through mind's eye, residual glare will kick start
If grifting ears strain only lurid rhythms to hear
To sift only the tawdry jingles that decorum jeer
With modular shift will Jove's hypnotic cadence sear
Melodic parlance with romantic vibes will ring clear
With only rational discourse your sterile drums cheer
If drooling lips seek with Venus's frothy dew endear
And impulsive lips cannot from sumptuous strips veer
A chapping balm on the puckering seams I'll smear
With arresting bitters saliva from taste buds shear
Onto comely face a dry, innocuous kiss will steer
Sentient Shadow
Calm, silent, overpowering
Power, pain, all devouring
New coats on old skin
Doesn’t feel the same again
New outcome, old reason
Denying the sensation
You lose the feeling
Righteous path, wrong reason
Crossroads crossed
It’s your grave your digging
Sentient shadow
Watching, waiting
Alone in a mass, never relating
Hiding on a shelf, a book unread
One day the living will envy the dead
