Senses Reel Poems | Examples

Premium Member A long ride

I took a drive
To clear my mind
To the mountains
Left the world behind
Air so fresh
Skies so blue
Troubling thoughts
Only of you
A selfish soul
A wandering eye
Any skirt would do
Don’t ask me why
Sitting on this mountain
How free I feel
From regrets or mercy
My senses reel
As darkness looms
The moon appears
A blanket of stars
Deletes my fears

Realm of Dread

Into the realm of dread I roam,
where shadows loom as spirits
                 groan.
The air is thick with deathly
                  doom,
and eerie whispers fill the room.

My senses reel,
my heart beats fast,
as ghosts of the past reveal
               their past.
I fear the worst,
yet still I go,
into the realm below.

Ah the smell of coffee in a paper cup
Like a vision from heaven with both eyes shut
The overwhelming joy
Like your first kiss as a boy
Your senses reel and it bonks your coconut

Blowing Kisses

. for public domain

Cielle's blowing kisses land softly on my cheek.
All my senses reel. Both my knees grow weak.
She smiles and laughs to send Her Joy my way
with airy kisses,
each adorned,
a fresh Lilac bouquet.

Cielle's skies are Bright and Gay,
Her smiles outshine our Sun's best day.
Her voice is Melody, Loveliness, Light.
When Cielle breathes,
Beauty sings,
and all the world is right.

Premium Member When It Comes To Fantasy, Your Still My Go To Man

When it comes to fantasy your still my go to man
late at night as my pillow creases from abuse
I lay there still and let my senses reel
with the touch of your eyes and the brush of your
corpuscle smile...
As morning arrives flushed with the memory
of yesterday's salty dream
I stand at the window staring at a tousled girl
who rims the shadows of an early morning rill
Curtains agape, kitchen lights on,
a fatalistic morning arrives
as I recall the reflections of a warm body
and words, of unspoken feel ;

I unflinch and whisper I love u's ,
to the wind
and the debris,
outside my front yard.

Froth
spilling
from large mugs
brimming with chilled
Bavarian beer.
Spiced delicacies tempt.
The aroma of grilled meat
pervades the night as senses reel.
Waitresses in traditional dress
serve folks to the sound of music and song.

Test of Time

Test of Time

It Has Been a Long Time
Since We Stood and Said "I Do"
I Loved You Then I Love You Now
My Heart Belongs to You

Today You Sent Me Flowers
They Were Pretty as Can Be
And Such a Sweet Reminder
Of the Love You Have for Me

So Rare, with So Much Beauty
Our Love Will Always Be
You and I Together
For Everyone to See

I Wonder If They Notice
How You Make Me Feel
You Lift Me up So High
You Make My Senses Reel

We Have Stood the Test of Time
Who Could Ask for More
Especially When You Love Me
Behind Our Bedroom Door

I Love You

SLEEP

Death's dress rehearsal.
Our nightly practice for the end
A compromise to darkness
while we wait for morning's light
The world in all its beauty
then breaks upon our sight

And we partake in living
as our senses reel again
We hear the droning distance
Breathe the freshness in the air
Heady fragrance of the blossoms
Feel the bustle everywhere

How can the final sleep be endless slumber,
If in rehearsal, it was all, to wait for light ?
Beyond an unknown realm
in that first dawning
What great wonder will we wake to?
What delight ?

Same and Different

Everything Is Different
But It's All the Same
I Look Around Me Now
And Wonder Who to Blame

You Came into My Life
And Taught Me How to Feel
Just When I Had it Figured out
You Made My Senses Reel

I Learned to Smell the Flowers
And Take Time to Contemplate
My Life and How I Live
Even Though it Came So Late

Yes, Everything Is Different
Although It's Still the Same
You Helped Me Find a Better Me
So I Guess It's You I'll Blame

I Hope I Did the Same for You
And That You're Happy in the End
Because I Consider You...
More than Just My Friend

Green-Eyed Monster

I can’t see around the corners
or what in darkness prevails
but I hear the thuds and bumps at night
and the swoosh from the monster’s tail

I smell the stench of aggressions
that putrid, awful perfume
it permeates my weaknesses
my senses reel in this room

my eyes can’t see before me
this gloom is way too thick
if I could find some matches
I’d light the candle’s wick

green-eyed is its make-up
and while it lays in wait
no activity for weeks and weeks
as it hones its cheating game

trusting is the flag I wave
virtuous and white
blinding in the daytime
fluorescent in the night

love like this doesn’t grow on trees
not even on any vine
am I growing like moss on you?
or wasting precious time?

one last shot to get it right
once more I offer a chance
watching, waiting on I go
doing this sweet, sweet dance

I’ll slay the monsters, one by one
I’ll be the only one left
I’ll stand here just as long I can
drying the tears I’ve wept

Flame of Light (Italian Sonnet)

I gaze upon the candle's flame tonight,
and watch it dance in amber flicker flow,
oh flame of light, my wish I think you know
to see my love beyond the veil of sight.
In age-old whispers mystic's words incite,
with magic set my lover's heart a glow,
upon the winds a gentle breath shall go
and say the words of love to her tonight.
I close my eyes and see her standing there
in beauty's smile I start to feel her kiss
we sit and talk of love without a care
as senses reel in passion's sweet abyss
until the night shall sing its last refrains
and just one candle lit flicker remains.

Ever So Gently

Like snowflakes on my eyelashes

Like the gentle wind that blows

Like the rustle of leaves on trees

and birds chirping in the eaves

You come each day and touch my soul

With fingers warm and light

And kiss my cheek a breath of jasmine

that make my senses reel

Illusive as a sunbeam

 I know when you’re near

By the scent of love’s sweet fragrance

and the upcurl of my hair

When my heart's bursting with joy

and your light comes shining through

I know ti's you dear God,

                          I know ti's you.
