A prisoner to age, being locked away, losing independence.
Celebrate life! Love, laugh, live it up,
and never have to explain,
because this is the oldest you've been
and the youngest you'll ever be again.
Seniors should be
Care for and protected
Not upset and having
To worry about their future
Wondering where they're going to get
Their next meal, how to
Pay for medication or
Even their bills, even Germany
respects and cares for their seniors
I’ve worked for years and
Had to put up with being
Mistreated, favoritism and
Unfairness in order to
Make a living and pay my bills
I am now of retirement age
To find out the money
I paid out is now in jeopardy
It’s my money, don’t touch it
Our World as seniors
My world has become one of the impossible,
where the impossible may become possible.
My world has become one of fantasy,
fantasies that becomes ones reality.
Reality where ones limited imagination,
combined with visions, artistry and talent
take ones existence, one’s mind into realms,
beyond that of this world, our reality
and into to the ether world of ones dreams
ones desires, forcing one from facing reality
beyond that projected from a cathode ray tube,
such as wick 1, 2, 3, 4 which lite up my hours.

Once I was young,
now I'm an oldie;
Once I was shiny,
now I'm all moldy.
Who Cares?
Who cares…
When loved ones with dementia go missing and resources caregivers lack
When the poor are given a handout, not a helping hand to get on track
When lying scammers and telemarketers, seniors cannot hold back
And one bad decision results in suicide or homicide following a hack?
I have another piece that's too long for here - so it's in "Short Storries."
It's called "Seniors" - about a High School graduation party
I know I could take things out - but then it's not what I wanted to say *shrug*

cute
Yoga positions
pretzel launching pad, painful
crowd wilts from fitness
senior endurance
festiness charges living
folks uncurl, relieved

When you cry with those who weep
And share the pain of those who suffer
When you give out of your need
To help a hurting child or homeless brother
When you welcome strangers into your home
And prepare hearty meals for growing boys and girls
When you sit alone beside a quiet telephone
Hoping to talk to distant family and friends
When you forgive all who hurt you
And confess your faults with sincere love inside
When you bask in today’s showers of blessings
Knowing God’s eraser removed all your past mistakes
When you have known sickness and discouragement
And those times that break the human heart
When it seems like nobody understands your needs
Remember your friend Jesus sees, he knows,
He loves you, he really cares, and
When you least expect it, that’s when he blesses you!
