belle.

i remember the day
i saw my belle.

stood before a great glass window
and oh, she was pretty.

young eyes, innocent cheeks,
one little, beautiful heart.

my glass belle,
whole,
smiling right back at me.

carried carefully
everywhere i went.

she's a delicate one, my belle is.

if my belle were simply older,
she would be worn at the edges.

but no -
broken is the little glass doll inside of me.

hurled,
dropped,
hammered.

and now, all that remains are shards.

and yet, i prize every shard.
especially those that make me bleed -
those that will never heal -
i will cherish those for eternity.

Self doubt

A storm boils and simmers
It never goes away
The rumble the ligtning
The darkness

He can love you forever
He can love you in actions
He can love you in words
The storm will still build and tear you down

You need to love you
Need to give yourself kindness
You need to care for you
.... need to know you deserve it and maybe then the storm will fade.

Goo

I called me a worm.
A caterpillar.
I told me to molt.
Become someone different,
And unfamiliar.
Wrapped in a cocoon,
And turned into goo.
In a stage of growth,
And that can hurt the most,
But I’ll pry myself out.
Im something strange,
Something changed,
Less deranged,
But similar.
Still I just feel like goo.
A froglet to frog,
Larva to pupa,
Tadpole to toad.
Even termites show growth.
One day,
I’ll be fully grown.
So I’ll spread my wings,
Not,
Because I told me to.
Not,
Because I said I should.
Not,
Because I said I would.
But,
Because I’m ready to be shown.
For now though,
For now,
I have no issue,
Being goo.

Premium Member The Gap

I stepped away,
afraid they'd feel the gap—
but the space
mended me,
and that
mended us.

Premium Member Self Care

When life overwhelms,
care for yourself

Deep breaths, stretches,
a cup of tea, a weighted blanket

Whatever will help you care for
and enable yourself to thrive

I Remember

I remember! I recall how good– no,
how great it feels to feel so good!
I remember the bright colours
in the rainbows after a storm.
I remember the trees, the rivers, the critters,
the peace of our world.
I remember how to get excited,
to have goals and plans– fantastic dreams!
I remember the love I feel from my friends, family, pets,
loved ones, who I’m lucky to have.
I remember that I can be grateful for all of
the simple things that I am graced with in this life.
I remember to create, to write, and to draw,
to bring about something new.
I remember the stars as they twinkle overhead,
specks of light in the dark of night.
I remember that I can care for myself,
love myself as much as I do for others.
I remember the joy I find in a good book,
in getting dressed up, in delicious food.
I remember flowers and rocks and bees,
all of the tiny things I love to notice.
I finally remember how to live vicariously,
how to enjoy and embody the free spirit inside.

Premium Member Being Happy With Yourself

They always have said become one with your self
Be your own happiness instead of needing someone else

Don't allow anyone to be your strength or your lifeline
Be content with yourself by having good me time

When you think about it those statements are true and less stressful
Less drama and misunderstandings which are painful

No need to wonder "if I do for them would they do for me"
Being happy with you means enjoying your own company

You know yourself well and there's no need to doubt
No need to be an open book to figure another person out

You become close with another person but for what
To feel like a loser when the relationship is cut

To me it seems so much easier just to do you
In friendships there's so much red tape to cut through

Investing so much time and energy into another person
Just to walk away learning another lifelong lesson

Until you add someone to it your life stays problem free
Now that i've learned im going to start doing me

Premium Member It's Time That I Focus On Me

I always had that inner quality of putting others first
I'll become anything needed from a mom to a nurse
I'm so busy with others that i don't get what i need
I think it's about that time that i just focused on me
Venture out and go places and see more sights
Enjoy my own bonfire along with the night star light
There's many things that i wish I had personal time to do
Putting myself second is the reason i don't have a clue
If the other people were happy was always my concern
Self help before helping others is what i have to learn
It's ok to be there for others but you have to be happy too
If others are content why would they think about you
I have helped others and have done many good deeds
I think it's about that time that i just focused on me.

Premium Member have you ever

Have you ever tried choking? He asked nonchalantly.
“No,” she said. *with a wrinkled nose of disapproval*

“Want to try it?” *His approach couldn't hide his excitement*
“Ok,” she said, absent mindedly running her index finger over his lips.

“you can choke me,” she added slowly,
“if I can stab you repeatedly
with the 7 inch stainless steel
nail-file I keep under my pillow.”

Leave Room in Your Heart

leave room in your heart
for even more love
like cracks in old stone
still reaching above
what’s broken can bloom
if you give it the air
what’s heavy can heal
if you’re willing to care
don’t seal every door
don’t stitch every seam
some hands were made
to rebuild your dreams
leave room in your heart
even battered and rough
there’s always more light
if you leave it enough

Happy International Women's Day

She rises with the morning sun,
A warrior’s heart, a battle won.
Through storm and silence, light and shade,
She builds the world, yet stays unswayed.

Her hands have shaped both stone and sky,
Yet whispers doubt still pass her by.
But let them fade, for she is strong,
A force of love, a battle song.

Not bound by chains, nor fear, nor past,
She dreams, she dares, she speaks at last.
For every voice once hushed away,
She stands, she shines—she leads the way.

So here’s to her, today, always,
Not just in words, but lasting praise.
For every woman, bold and free,
The world is hers—so let it be!

Happy International Women’s Day!

Detention

Who can detain me?
Unless I allow myself?
It's all right in here...

What makes the girl

Natural

Some think it’s the beauty that makes the girl. They think it’s the glitz, glam, diamonds, and pearls. Others think that it’s her curls. Though they may whirl and swirl, they just don’t have that perfect twirl. Is it the money that makes the girl? Materialistic, but still a part of her world. No, it’s the music that makes the girl. The rhythms that make her move her feet. With a personality that presents itself to whoever she greets. It builds her up, it breaks her down. Her music of life can sometimes be a sweet sound.

Visual

Some think it's the beauty that makes the girl, they think;
It's the glitz, glam, diamonds, and pearls, they believe.
Others think that it's her curls, though they may whirl and swirl,
They just don't have that perfect twirl, they perceive.
Is it the money that makes the girl? Materialistic, it's true,
But still a part of her world, this we know.
No, it's the music that makes the girl, the rhythms that make her move her feet.
With a personality that presents itself to whoever she greets.
It builds her up, it breaks her down, her music of life can sometimes be
A sweet sound, a melody that sets her free.

The Giver

When you are constantly giving
And someone is constantly taking
You have to ask yourself
How much do you give before it takes from you?
