Sanely Poems

Premium MemberNew Obsession:Exercise Bike

Tomorrow, I'll try my exercise
           bike.
           No, not that expensive doozy!
I'd fall down and be a fallen,
           poetic lollapaloozy!

My glory days of riding a real
           bicycle have long past.
           But the body needs exercise
           like our minds.
Not too slow, nor too fast!
           Just sanely paced!

Fulcrum of the Times

The orchestra of the world
become violently overplayed
become muted white noise
sanely adjusted to a nigh-zero

And here where the colors are bright
here where we living meet
here there are questions, questions all the time
can't make anything out,
there's nothing but garbled nonsense
drowning out a single answer

Through the noise
the dissonant truth we hate
burning wire of gold to follow, made of words
ignores irrational fingers pointed by languid vice
ignores stones cast by the righteous and justified
ignores missiles and bombs and bullets and guns sprung from bottomless wallets
all weapons leveled against this disharmony
and god forbid
and mother help us
it won't stop

We can hear it and it terrifies us
We can hear it now
definition creeps back in, terror itself

Thus the fulcrum of the times
So important are these final lines
That they're written here in rhyme
Are you broken and chained
In a prison of mistakes
Or do you have what it takes
To reap the fell crop, and a truer world
Create?
When you hear it,
and you will,
you'll make the choice
and be fulfilled

An Oxymoron In Oblivion

An Oxymoron in Oblivion

My soul sweetly shouts a supernova of a yawning yell
To ponder and penetrate our inept gravitational shell
My love to explore the dimming nebula of lustrous light
To faithfully fulfill my dreams of the narcoleptic night

Within the sirens of silent solitudes, there must be one
To liberate my lachrymal linger that I have sanely shun
At the speed of limited light, I unleash my venting verses
They reach a billion suns and serve no pompous purpose

Symphonic solar systems in a calcific chaotic ranting rage
Statically spinning gasses of sorrow surrender to engage
Black hole bathing & banishing within the abundant abyss
My heart faintly fluttering admits the hexed harmonic hiss

Asteroids comets & meteors in their felony friendly flight
Hindering my jaded journey defenseless in drooling delight
Sabbatical stars sailing through streams of self-seduction
Will my love reach the end of its frivolous fusion fluxion?

Brave New World-Second Sight

When illumination turns into damnation
And tentative time is the internal enemy
Because those of us who do not fuss
Will begin to slowly sadly sanely see
And the rest of you who will askew
In decadent darkness will boldly blindly be

The world is staged and ritually raged
As our lives unfold in seductive synchronicity
One atom small as one atom temples tall
We survive and sail the salted sea
For we must find within our mind
And yet we get lost in melodic mystery

Are we artificial and sacrificial?
As the wolves devour the sedated sheep
Redundant reruns replicated daughters and sons
In a brave new world within a soundless sleep
And Heavens tide will always hide
Those of us who woundly weep.

Slowly, surely, truly
Come to know true beauty

Calmly, clearly, wisely
Come to feel things easy

Bravely, boldly, brightly
Come to think thoughts cheery

Bubbly, buzzy, breezy
Come to touch times warmly

Sanely, soundly, simply
Come to live truth lightly

Two Beach Strolling Sisters Discussing Their Savior

This was his virtue; that with head and heart
He saw life sanely, from all mist apart,
and spoke with such assurance as he showed
our way as straight as an old Roman road.

This was His beauty, that with bird and flower
He loved the strange revealings of each hour,
from wandering stars, from waywardness of earth;
Fountains of poesy quivered at his birth.

This was his grandeur, that in all he saw
or dreamed, he bowed before eternal law.
Knowing his soul the vassal of the King
whose realm is established by our laboring!

Was School the Best Thing On Earth

Was School the Best Thing On Earth?

Mary’s little lamb was not me really,
I had alternative thoughts inside, innately;
I confided in who I loved, trusted sanely,
But secrets are selfish very most truly.

I knew I had a place and a time,
And although on that day I may not rhyme,
Thought that I should’ve been able to mime,
And that one day I should be fine.

Imposing relativities, shrieking was done,
But to me they didn’t have a gun;
In society I had a friend and hun,
And that they shouldn’t so pun.

But school has the upper-hand,
Is the legs upon which you stand,
But you can give it a hand,
When it’s in the wrong band.

I Do

I have always dreamt of a day
A day filled with blissful memories
Entrenched in the hallowed walls
Well-knit in my heart of hearts

The day a prince stole my heart
To keep in his cherished heart-vault
I will blow the fanfare with loud trumpets
Tell the timeless tales to my children
On how he chivalrously won my heart
Captivatingly serenading my beauty

What a day glued to my memory
When he swept me off my feet *proposally*
Among cherished friends and loved ones
Who witnessed the grandstand

A real prince indeed
Fulfilling my knight in shining armour tales
The captivating nature of his nectar- sting
Was sanely unrejectable

Love beyond measure is all I crave
The happiness I have always envisaged
Alas I woke from it all
Only to discover it all being a dream
A pigment of my imaginations

Remnants

Sad Heart, now thou art wither’d from the Sun,
What man, or god, will near thee run?
Wrought in twist like branches in Tempests' gasp,
What Comfort, or Gauze, shall be near to grasp?
True ones begotten are the ones now Rotten
And the ones now Rotten will never be forgotten
They are merely sad remains of assiduous Tears
That have been meddl’d with and tatter’d Raw throughout the years

And thou, cruel Mind, that sat’st still thru toiling trail of Night;
Must dream your broken Dreams; thou’rt a sanely flight!
Can thou extinguish passions of Fire, Disease, or Rain?
—tho thy distinguish’d influence trains to abstain
Thy Remnants brought to debris in thy Empty street,
Devour’d by Vultures, their bestow’d beaks entreat
Merely are they cleaning an inexhaustible Mess
Alas! Leaving thy rudiments of Identity to redress....

The Thing That Lies Beneath

What lies inside my mind, what's beneath?
Now its a raging beast with razor sharp teeth.
It has been locked up for quite a while.
Its about ready to come out with a smile.

It smiles because its about ready to explode.
You shouldn't have made it angry, now it'll unload.
All the whining, and yelling and complaining.
He is all that's left in me, that is sanely remaining.

And all the pressure rising to the boiling points top.
I asked you all very politely, but you wouldn't stop.
What is one person supposed to do when it won't quit?
Now its your fault that my personality made a split.

The mirror stares back so harshly and so hard.
It can look into me and see and I am scarred.
You can feel it, mutiny is in all around in the air.
This caged beast is unleashed, so all should beware.

You see I'm not sure which one is writing for you.
Take a chance, come a little closer and guess who.
Maybe you'll get the side of me that is calm and level.
If you don't, you'll see El Diablo in this risen devil.

Never

Never did I dream that
So intertwined, so separately
Our paths would cross this way
So intimately, so deeply

Never have my footsteps
So quickly, so easily
Fallen in sync with another's
So naturally, so happily

Never have I felt this way
So scary, so amazing
Grounded while flying
So proud, so full of awe

Never could I truly see
So oblivious, so blind
How ignorant my heart was
So selfish, so masochistic

Never was I treated
So respected, so admired
As a true equal
So fairly, so new

Never have I realized
So depressed, so low
That I have and talents and gifts
So precious, so eye-opening

Never have I loved
So sanely, so smartly
Nor have I been loved
So truly, so honestly.

Never did I dream that
So intertwined, so separately
Our paths would cross this way
So very intimately, so very deeply

Thanks for seeing me
Not my body, not my silhouette
Thanks for being selfless
So rare, so special

Amusing Decor

Unfaithful useless utter
Demeaning devoured décor
Violent vicious venom
Mockingly medaling more

Creative cautious coalition
Against all amidst abate
Struggling sanely satisfied
For a ferocious frigid fate

Dominate destructive deity
Proud pacifying past
Loathing lustrous lividity
Fictitiously falling fast

Gallantly ghastly grounded
Remaining reluctantly recluse
Distance desired deadliness
Amusing agonistic abuse
