Ribbon Dance

Long to ribbon dance
In the deepest of a trance.
I begin to prance
After preparing my lance.
I always aim for next chance.

Silken ribbon

Quiet morning 
On the gravel of the way 
Sounds of raindrops 
Childhood days 
Rays of the sun blocked 
July is relatively less hot
Gaze at the clouds in the sky 
Bonsai on a windowsill 
Fills aroma in the air 
Shrill voice 
of a long-billed bird 
Present layered with past
Hazy window glass 
The drenched boy waves

'twas at the country fair I spied her
outstanding in her field

beyond compare second to none
eyelashes long and lovely skin of velvety down
I insist who could resist those eyes so big so brown

but I'm her biggest fan and I won't lie I

Hope Beyond Red Ribbon

A red thread we wear with pride,
For the love that won’t subside.
In shadows deep; the fight was born,
Yet through the dark, a new dawn shone.

A virus does not define the soul,
Courage and strength play the role.
The world unites to heal the scars,
With hope that shines like endless stars.

I picked posies as I walked on by,

The long road,
where does your dark thread unwind?
Bent willows follow where you lead,
and sunflowers drink the roadside rain.
The sun and wind,
tumble the weeds down your turnpike.
And I who follow idly the unraveling,

way up high, 
red, and gold and green...
yellow, purple,

Those colors, 
that are outside 
our field of view, 
the ones that we see, 
me, and you. 

A symbol of love, 
a covenant..., a promise, 
a gift from God to us...

Satin and Old Lace

Bent fingers trace embroidered leaves
on satin and long lacy sleeves.
Blush roses, twenty-six she counts--
A French word she can't now pronounce.

She blows dust from old envelopes
tied with blue ribbons and her hopes.
The letters penned by her true mate.
Over his name, she... hesitates.

A trunk in attic soon became
her refuge from days all the same.
Photos dwelling midst her

Perfect Present

Things are usually
Not as simple as they seem
Nothing can be solved
With a clean break
Can leave you with
Paper cuts and
A ribbon with a few red tendrils
Still hanging on for
Dear life
Enclosing with no closure
Some things
Can be resolved
Yet some will
Ever remain as
A mystery

And maybe that’s okay
To know that it is never over
