Of technology’s many gifts
many receive remarkably short shrift
Yet without one of its aging marvels
the entire civilized world unravels
So, I’d like all those short shrifters
just one sweltering summer to envision
their homes ~ un-air-conditioned

You are a race,
So one of a kind!
Uniquely seen
in any place.
A race with glee
In humanity.
Finds peace in God,
And happiness
In calamity.
A race so kind,
It's culture shines.
A mark of pride, yet
Nor black or white.
Short and brown,
They may be.
But remarkably
Is their capability.
Your work shows
A native gold,
Where heart's in place
In any phase.
And when they stand
Or work their hand,
Their dignity
remarkably can't hide,
Definitely,
A Pinoy Pride!

It stands tall
proudly pointing to the sky
reaching high toward the sun
with hints of purplish blue peeking through
Buds open ever so gently
cautious shy and humble
unsure at first of their regal stature
unaware of their innate majesty
The iris parades its generous petals
ample and graceful
floating graciously
with carefree elegance
Poised amidst the garden
the iris is remarkably unaware
of its astonishing beauty

"What are you all quacking about?" squawked Reginald Cluck,
Peering from his coop, quite out of luck.
A drizzle had started, a timid, soft weep,
While others still snoozed in feathery sleep.
"A little rain never hurt anyone!" chirped Pip,
Whose splash-prone spirit rarely would slip.
He’d eye every puddle, a shimmering pond,
With a gleam in his eye, quite remarkably fond.
Reginald scoffed, adjusted his comb,
"Such soggy affairs! I prefer my dry home."
He’d seen the contest poster, a splashy delight,
But preferred his reflections, all polished and bright.
Then a gust, unexpected, a mischievous sigh,
Tumbled Reginald forward, right under the sky.
He landed with grace, in a puddle so grand,
A most dignified splish across the wet land.
His feathers, now plastered, his dignity skewed,
He blinked at his image, delightfully new.
"Let's do the chicken splash!" he suddenly cried,
As the "Mystic Rose" whispered, "Don't hide your wet side!"
And so Reginald Cluck, once a skeptic so stiff,
Discovered true joy in that watery whiff.
He kicked up a fountain, a most glorious spray,
Proof that a puddle can brighten your day.

The humpback whale is a musical fella
With a sonorous voice that's remarkably "mella".
He doesn't need orchestration
To cause a sensation
When he lets loose and belts out a tune a cappella.

Desire to bask in light good
Light spreads not evenly ever
Shades soothe frayed tempers
Cool breeze relaxes remarkably.
Light stays not for ever at a place
Sun is not static as we view
Earth we stay on is also dynamic.
It's not a universe but multiverse, dear!!

The Sweet Spot
Remarkably, right on the cusp
Between the tangible and intangible
Sit the old tribal weavings
Of the near to far East.
I’m sure to many
Both there and here
This subtle distinction of delicate balance
Goes right over their heads.
But to others,
Surely more than just a few,
It goes right to the heart
Which is of course the place we all long to be.
It’s such a fine line to find
Between this and that
The known and the mysterious
And yet…
What else is there worth finding
Where else would you rather be
Than at the sweet spot
Where in and out are one.

May we all be blessed with a multitude of diverse friends…
for once a new fireship is unfurled
That person adds their own unique approach
and beauty to our world.
And once we’ve welcomed in a new friend…
It matter not where or when…
Remarkably…
the world we knew before we met them
will never be the same again.

In the garden of memories, a bloom so divine.
A mother's love, an eternal lifeline.
Reading the holy book, a melody that dawdles on.
She was holy and a saint like persona.
Through her Guiding hands and a comforting embrace,
So many greats emerge.
Her absence, a longing I can’t negate.
Because it’s painful, but pain is all I got.
Through tear-stained skies and whispered prayer,
Her spirit lingers, a presence rare.
She was Loved, she was cherished and adored by all.
A minute spent + her, a lifetime reverberations.
The mother, the friend and the legendary Seyda Mint Sheikh (SMS).
A President, A billionaire, A beggar, she don’t tell apart.
She came, she lived, she thrived, all in a short story line.
A love so pure, now in moments, she's gone.
She was an inspiration to all,
she was remarkably unique,
she was a phenomenal woman.
She raised me up like a father, loved me as mother and respected me like a leader.
She was the greatest ever friend and
a mother +,
more importantly she was Seyda Mint Sheikh (SMS).

When you are given a glass of water
that you haven’t asked for
and are told to drink it
chances are
you have received some devastating news
or have suffered some trauma
your world has been turned on its head
and it is believed
that a glass of water will help you cope
and so
without really noticing
you take and drink that glass of water
and it does help
remarkably
that which we routinely consume
without a second’s thought
is of definite help in a time of crisis
I was recently handed a glass of water
that I hadn’t asked for
and was told to drink it
which I did
and
amidst the upheaval
that was then my world
that glass of water
became an anchor
so
when I turn on a tap
something fundamental
deep inside me
is eternally grateful.

Ridiculously responsible refined Rutherford Cat
Responded remarkably easy to the rat that sat
Willing him to record his refined pitter pat splat
We saw it ourselves, me and my friend Matt.
A famous recording artist in county of Platt.
What a nice guy is refined Rutherford Cat!

a remarkably clever young blue jay
had colorful feathers like egg faberge'
he was beautiful, amazingly gay
I saw him for the first time last Wednesday
Did not hear his name, but I think it was Ray
Did not preen or boast like the human Jay
His pretty feathers had a bit of fray
He has a reputation said neighbor May
Females love seeing him fly and sashay
I first met him at the Flamingo Bay
He has formed a mob that likes to laugh and play
I ran down to the bay to try and see Ray
I had heard that he sometimes is their Deejay
Have you heard him? Asked a family named McVey.
His radio persona name is Doctor Do So Ray.

It is remarkably insane,
To look vacantly out the pane,
With a green bottle of Bollinger champagne,
Enjoying the wobbly rain, rain, rain!
I would rather spend a day in Spain,
Or sit by the seaside in Ukraine,
An alternative of gawking all in vain,
At the wet and soggy rain, rain, rain!
My entire day would certain remain,
Unstimulating and very mundane,
Before the sympathy could sustain,
I would flee away from the rain, rain, rain
I would pose and listen to Zakir Hussain,
Without experiencing the Nyctophobic pain,
And munching on the Christmas candy cane,
For my drink, I’ll gulp the rain, rain, rain!
Oh! I desperately have the need to explain,
The very day I had to constrain,
As it was not so germane,
To taste the polluted rain, rain, rain!
The cloudburst valiantly fights the Elaine,
The pellucid flurry wondering it's Shane,
Tries to stuff the muddy moraine,
But sadly cries into rain, rain, rain!
The baffled sleet faces refrain,
Awaits the rush hour of the town’s train,
To run away from the aubade, so urbane,
Sadly, the unconvincing rain, rain, rain, goes away.
