Me; Your Chestnut!

Panting, with a run-down look
And a pleader's, for
Your man's sympathy
Approach, as when blow, hotly
Days, frail doe, a tree.

Pleasantness! As what relieves
Through coos so o'ertook
Leaves one such sleep-bound
Of safekeeping, for shade thereround
Hugged, suggestive, round.

Premium Member A Romantic Encounter

How absolutely delightful to watch the sun sets
And all around above the sea and the beach
Some famous painter swipe everywhere in gold.
Soon night will fall and all-around bars will light up.

We walk hand in hand along the jam-packed beach,
Until we stop at the farthest end of the sandy nook.
There soft waves grace our feet and the summer heat
Relieves us delicately as we admire the tranquil bay.

Time passes in tranquility disturbed by the occasional kiss.
Sailing boats sail the Amalfi Bay, flags flying the Italian flags.
Soon we depart to Antonio, famous seafood chef.
We will sample spaghetti, with fresh clams sautéed
In olive oil, garlic, white wine, and parsley. As for wine,
Only the best: "Fiorduva": considered the Amalfi crown jewel.

Satiated from our delicious food, we return to our hotel
Accompanied by the melodious songs animating
From the thrill of a hundred guitars.

Quote: "Longevity is not just the accumulation of shadows, but the slow, relentless design of light—where the soul learns to admire the skies." By Poet

8th place contest winner

Years of silence drift in shadow’s hold,
yet life’s glow cuts a furrow bold.

 Ascetic patience mollifies time’s tide,
 stringent suns succumb, shadows subside.

From a thick nucleus of recall, lyric streams,
etiology carved in incarnate dreams.

Furious storms rage, but sagacious roots remain,
visceral awe gleams through longevity’s pain.

A lingering oracle, sanctuary of grace,
fading walls surrender a sobbing face.

Even barren sand yields to mettle’s rule,
velvet dusk relieves the waning fuel.

And yet the human heart, steadfast and wide,
bears its banner forth—unswayed stride.

Premium Member The Birds and The Bees

People talk of the birds and bees
As a placeholder for the broader world
Reproducing in fecundity along with May flowers.
But there’s a deeper reason for the association
And it’s the sight and sound
Of them being relentlessly busy.
We notice them, their flights
And their buzzings and chirpings,
And more importantly we feel those sounds
In our very core,
A vibration that relieves of us stress
Releases endorphins
Makes us whole, and thus holy,
And reminds us
Maybe we too should take the time
To dance and sing, and build our nests
In the rejuvenating comfort
Of spring’s warm embrace.

Premium Member heavens empty hours

Give me but some music
- in heavens empty hours -
a piece of song, giddy-paced
and innocence for innocence
I’m a horse that never tires

While a cup of wine
makes light airs
and merry hearts

It too can unyoke the humour of the immature,
“So, wait, you think if you say a few right things
I’ll let you on it?”

Ha! No I won’t
you weak spirit
I see right through you

Oh, I’m not lily-white of hue,
I’m more the colour of blood red roses

But that one there, *pointing*
he relieves my passion
see this ring?
I frisk for him

Premium Member I Feel Spring's Gentle Caress

“Spring drew on...and a greenness grew over those brown beds,
which, freshening daily, suggested the thought that Hope traversed
them at night and left each morning brighter traces of her steps.”
                                                      ~ Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre

I feel the caress of Spring's gentle breeze
wafting through meadows and verdant hills
and swaying branches of budding maple trees

Spring welcomes rain as each drop softly spills
dampening the cheeks of my upturned face
until the sun's warmth relieves me of my chills

It's the season that I so lovingly embrace
when flowers grow in vast, colorful profusion
lovelier in a garden than in a vase

Lavender scents the air with sweet infusion
To God and Nature, I bestow gratitude
for the beauty found in their collusion

Spring arrives offering hope renewed
and fresh beginnings are redolently imbued

Premium Member Park Bench Repair

I sit alone upon this bench at night
Escape the daily grind within my life
Surrounded by the silence, I feel free
And smile because this bench is my repair.
The cool night air awakens inner thoughts
Relieves the tension of my busy day
In peaceful solitude I feel refreshed
Then leave my park bench, knowing I'll return.

the pulse of nature heals-
rustle of leaves forgives
babble of brook relieves

Premium Member A Letter To Rainbow Bridge

Any pet owner knows…
Our furry friends are as much
a part of the family as anyone.
                                     Missing my boys.

My Dear Monte,

Life is simply not the same
                            without you by my side
Although it was your time to go
oh how I’ve cried and cried
I know you’re whole and happy there
                         and that relieves my pain
Until I see your empty bed
                                 and then I cry again
You’re with your brother Hudson too
and that is good to know
Oh, how I’ll miss you both, my boys
till it’s my time to go
And on the day, when I arrive
                     while running o’er the ridge
We all will meet and never part
               and cross that Rainbow Bridge

Dr Patel A Very Good Cardiologist

In one sterile theater where whispers flow,
A healer walks with steps that glow,
His touch as soft as falling snow,
Yet keen as dawn's first piercing light.

Through quiet eyes, so deep, so wise,
He sees the storms within my veins,
And though my weary spirit sighs,
He slows my pulse and relieves the pain.

His hands, a map of skill and grace,
Trace pathways time and trials conceal,
He listens close, he knows my face,
And speaks the words that start to heal.

A problem-solver, steady, sure,
He bends to find what others miss,
With heart so steadfast, strong, and pure,
He turns the tide with care's sweet kiss.

Though pain still lingers, dark and deep,
A gracious light has touched my soul,
And in his hands, my faith will keep,
A thread of hope to make me whole.

For kindness hums in all he's done,
Like morning's hush, like twilight's tune,
And though my battles are not won,
His voice still shines, a silver moon.

Fire Up the Dragon

three quintains

Husband made an announcement yesterday at five.
"I'm NOT going to Disney next week on Spring Break.
Back problems do not mix with that long twelve-hour drive,
walking theme parks for four days - another mistake."
My tail is draggin'; I can't fire up this dragon.

Oldest son is delighted, because his girlfriend
is invited to take my place, etcetera.
Younger son will miss me, and I cannot defend
my choice; for six months this has been HIS great hurrah.
Four tails are waggin'; they have fired up their dragon.

Our daughter and hubby are likewise thrilled indeed
that I'm staying home - for that relieves them of care.
Five rabbits, two dogs and a bearded dragon need
more attention than simply a "wing and a pray'r".
I'm not braggin'; but for that, I'll fire up this dragon.

John 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

In the twilight, a voice comes on a still night
Singing of wonder, blessings, insight
Beyond the meanings, beneath the delight
With only the purpose of glistening bright,
Breaking hearts who are, certainly, not right.

In the moments, before joy falls like snow
Blessing away the darkest colors who blow
Soundless flakes, quiet as souls who know
Love is a promise, fading into the distant flow
With a beautiful beyond words, a gentle glow

In the eyes of the heart who sincerely believes
Joy is poured out on the pining soul who greaves
His purpose is to silence tears – His love relieves
He is the light that no shadow of doubt deceives
He’s the life who the greatest poet conceives

Never doubt Him, who melts hearts who’re froze
Assuring souls that His love just grows and grows
There is assurance that He is the light who just knows
Wherever we go, there is assurance that He arose
So each of us can know what it means to be chose!

Glistening on a graceful pine,
The glow, the flame, so alive
Tells a story of a gentle vine,
Written by love who shall thrive.

Poured out on the believer
Is the wonder of God’s grace
Erasing the darkness of the deceiver,
Reminding the heart of love’s embrace.

Glorifying the One who stirs the soul
With a promise of everlasting love
Love that is meant to make us whole
Kindle a flame of faith from above

Blessing the heart who simply believes
With a faith that trusts, even in grief,
Flowing with assurance that relieves
Remember, He forgives – even the thief.

Never stop listening to His song,
There is a purpose you might not know
A purpose for life, assurance that you belong
With this man named Jesus, who we owe…

Our entire soul, our entire life
	All the reason for existing
Flowing like love, without strife,
	Love that is forever insisting….

We are the children of the Creator
Who sends for us, sooner or later,
Who reveals to us, One who is greater,
Jesus, who was betrayed by a traitor
Jesus, whose love is our educator!

Premium Member I Know A Man

I know a man… and He understands

He made a way
Where the shadow’s preyed
He lit the day
With joy unspeakable, His gift

He holds the key
To death, hell and the grave
He knows each plea
Before the prayer is even prayed

He filled the soul
With music that speaks joy
He makes hearts whole
Replacing doubt with assurance

He guides the hand
Who simply believes in Him
He writes in the sand
Remembering we’re merely human

He lifts the load
From those who have been worried
He loved – His blood flowed
Forgiving the darkest sinner

He knew the cost
Before He came down to us
He knew we were lost
Without His gift of salvation

He gave His all
So we could be redeemed
He took the fall
Though we’re unworthy of His gift

He remembered each of us
As He hung there on that cross
He never made a fuss
Though He was completely innocent

He is the answer to my need
Filling my heart with love that believes
He came, my soul, to feed
With the wonder of grace that relieves

He is my everything
And, though I can’t understand
I’ll always shout and sing
Because this is all just as God planned.

and you tap tap on my leaves

wholesome as can be brought forth
from the gale force fete relief

oh the hamstring you do hug
taut grasp relieves danger from
belt strap as it leaves beach plank
so the treetop perch easing

soothing dry tides of the wind
cool-charm in a household sigh
bluebirds in their enchant chirp
with their hip-hip-hurraying
