Collectors

He collected false teeth
Vintage wooden legs
Ancient wooden clogs
Toed with metal segs.
He hoarded his collections
Hidden out of sight
Would peruse them with joy
In the middle of the night.

He moved on to hairpieces
And didn’t give a fig
About the methods he used
To acquire a new wig.
When he met Mary Jones
New desires entered His life
Which became full of joy when
She agreed to become his wife

She was an avid collector of
Effects and trivia of Devon
And so in truth they were
A match made in heaven.
With their various collections
Filling their house to the rafter
They went and moved to Thailand
Where they lived happily ever after.

Ride the sublime tide of time

Our lament for time well spent…with Farmer's market regulars Pip & Lizzie the pair are a sartorial oracle and festive fillip with follicle flair....was a delight to share forever memories at our locavore lair...

Through the mist of memories we sift

With whiffs of yesteryear cheer sniffed

Rides on sublime tides of time we drift

Rain again regulars refrain visit biffed

Others defending..spending limit thrift

Quiffed punter chunter I've been stiffed

Will harp on gets swift short sharp shrift

After rafter of laughter graft or grift

Miffed by dafter manager’s latest rift

Not the first time we have ever tiffed

One thing that will always give us a lift

Makes our hearts sing on a busy shift

Stops any tizzy thrill of fill of Phil & Lizzie

A heaven sent present our favourite gift..

Leaf-Splotched

Nature's, autumn-layed
If befoul, I
These, its rooms, a child, across
Dashing, and spry
Tis with a mother's
Laughing consent.
Down through each shook treed rafter
Gustily sent.

Premium Member Flitting Rite Of Moths -- JU

Bold atlas moths congregate
Around lily pools... then wait
Until stars' resplendent light ,
Awakens their flitting rite.

And winging through air- brushed haze
Each laced rafter all ablaze--
As peak twirlings gleam anew
Like pearled gauze of every hue!

The best medicine is laughter

Not on your nelly is telly better than laughs from your belly

That roar rocks you to the core before long you’ve a sore jaw

Stand up tour or panto to the fore has always worked before

Not just one more but an encore in store of many a guffaw

Pure & raw soul does soar but appreciate I’m no Shelley

Feeling down through thick and thin then best way to begin

Wriggle from a frown your mouth wiggles become a giggle

Head in a spin again after too much time with your ken & kin

Things get under your skin it’s not a sin to well crack a grin

Tipple & tucker don’t buckle me ol mucker succour to suckle

No sandwich of the knuckle nothing as pukka as a chuckle

While we all know the best denial to rile vile bile in style

A sage’s way to turn the page engage with road rage

To bewitch & beguile for a wee while is well just to smile

After a rafter of everything dafter whether grafter or drafter

Din of chagrin within a guffaw, smile, giggle, chuckle, grin

Will always win as it is shoe in the best medicine’s laughter

Lachrymose dose

After a few too many dafter tipples.. verbose boo hoo lachrymose ripples

Ignored baby tears morose fears no lactose from adored mum’s nipples

Hailing glum wailing nonnas not those dumb premadonnas it both cripples

Rum laughter again will numb the rafter of pain...refrain and it just triples

So who are the Has Beens ?

Appalling.. hard not to diss the taking the piss

No not talking about the corking bliss of Travis

Bazball calling card just a scarred hubris abyss

Head’s rabid ripsnorter slaughter so rapid

Livid our boys stupid not vivid instead vapid

Fan fury wishing they will stop fishing

Hack jury dishing out flak still swishing

Go toe to toe with our oldest coldest foe

Blow by blow new low ego the worst woe

Wickets in a row..have a go free flow they all crow

Forget every aficionado all about Bazball bravado

Can hear them say no other way to play we know

Can’t teach reach each puppet that Mac did bestow

Beseech after another breach it’s the Muppet show

Boycott & Vaughan did warn along with many ex baggie greens

After the laughter at rafter of dafter scenes…still chill your beans

Really.. Stokes bespoke blokes choked were smoked...“Has Beens”!

Getting older part two

Encores & guffaws .. sure you get more twinkle as you do get older

Be a jester...don't let anything pester..smoulder..floor or fester

Show jeers..fears..tears..sneers the door..that scolder colder shoulder

Sly minx..kinks & sky high jinx.. rafter of laughter from yesteryear's folder

Winks me thinks.. blink and guy on the brink.. dafter.. few too many drinks

Rascal sprinkle now a sparkle after each superfly debacle.. appears a bit bolder

Premium Member Love Need No Voice

Pointed at his heart
Ready for its start
Pointed at her eyes
Where a future lies
Pointed at her hand
For what he had planned
Offered the ring
Diamond, sparkling
So proclaiming his love
Before the gods above
Traced her tear
Not of fear
But of joy and elation
Upon a new foundation
A new life to spend together
In sunshine
    And stormy weather
Just Walking hand in hand
Upon laping beaches;
    Their toes crushing the sand
Sunken moons
Blissful noons
Sounds of their childrens' laughter
The Ivy adorned rafter
The glowing hearth fire
Seeing life entire
How like a dream
It could all seem
But when he looks at her
Knowing no dream better
    Than her beautiful smile

Premium Member Happily Ever After

Once upon a time long gone …
The reigning queen let out a yawn,
And stood up from her regal throne
To trample down the hall alone

She ripped the crown from out her hair
And flung it out the window there,
It tumbled down the castle wall …
No knight or king did hear it fall

And off the ground it did bounce
The crown rolled out into a flounce,
Tumbling down into the moat
And thankfully it did not float

A queen no more and yet she smiled
Chuckling, whooping and skipping wild,
Saying goodbye to the castle rafter …
She'd found her happily ever after.

Premium Member How do you find your loved ones once you get to heaven

How do you find your loved ones once you get to the hereafter?
How do you navigate your way through the billions of souls
who fill heaven from floor to rafter?
Will an angel come and take you by the hand
and lead you to your loved ones in the promised land?
And will they be surprised to see you?
Or was the date of your reunion already planned?

Premium Member Sky of Fireflies

In a dark sapphire night's trance
Flirtatious banter romance
Bright ray light fireflies upward dance,
Amorous scene within heaven's light
Others ignite on steeple leaves
To the moon's song in full sight.
Breeze pushes through full of laughter,
Serenading shuttering leaves against the rafter.

Premium Member old witch rescues Halloween

Halloween was having a bad week said the rafter.
no trick-or-treating, no candy, no laughter
He does not want to show himself this year
no masks, no costumes, understand my dear?

Old witch was horrified, she had to coax him and convince.
She baked Halloween a pie fit for an ordained prince.
Popped it onto her broom and flew into the night.
She would speak to Halloween, and make things right.

Someone had apparently hurt his feelings, she thought.
Halloween cheered up a bit when he saw what she had brought.
Old Witch said, “so you will show yourself on Saturday, after all?”
“Okay,” agreed Halloween, which made all of us have a better fall.

Premium Member My Dream Girl

My dream girl's not a doll, no Kewpie cutie,
Or an heiress, or an actress on the screen.
She's neither nun nor acrobat,
Nor wears fine feathers in her hat,
No frump for Trump Republican,
No beauty queen.

She's not a princess trapped inside an ivory palace
Awaiting rescue by a valiant knight like me.
She doesn't dazzle like aurora borealis,
Or sing arias from "Carmen" like Ms. Callas,
Or practice taekwondo,
Or even know tai chi.

But the girl I dream about has joy and laughter,
And her heart's as full of love as it can be.
When my spirit's low, she lifts it to the rafter,
And I know we'll have a happily ever after
Every time I dream of her
And she of me.
